► Monday, May 11 ► We’ve now been at sea for five days. The whole crew has, more or less quickly, shifted from the rhythm of life ashore to that of the ocean. For me, the first two days were a bit difficult; I put on the Scopoderm patch for seasickness a little too late, and it took me nearly 48 hours to get my motion sickness under control. But eventually, the body adapts. And then there’s that little magical ritual that changes everything: my morning coffee, one-on-one with the Atlantic Ocean. ► Life on board revolves around simple things: lunches, dinners, night watches to keep a constant eye on the catamaran. Every now and then, when the sea is calm and the timing is right, we also take showers from the aft platforms. ► One lunchtime, while we were eating, dolphins appeared alongside Punch. There must have been around ten of them, and they stayed with us for quite a while, playing in the bow wave and between the hulls. Everyone left their plates to share that magical moment with them. Moments like these break through the routine on board and remind us just how alive the ocean can be. ► Fishing is also starting to become part of our daily routine, whether successful or not. We caught our first two mahi-mahi - small ones, but deeply satisfying after days of watching the lines trail behind the two hulls. And then there are the disappointments too: six fish lost, and several lines cleanly snapped. ► The weather is becoming warmer and more pleasant. The days are now very sunny, with the occasional passing cloud, and when the wind drops, the engines take over to maintain a steady speed of around 7 to 8 knots. ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! ► The ORC yard presents its first new model since it was taken over by Grand Large Yachting in 2023. ► The ORC 52.2 keeps the excellent foundation of the 50 while offering an interior redesigned and refined by Franck Darnet Design. “We got an extra 200 kg, not any more,” jokes Antoine Gicquel, project manager at the firm. At the same time, the use of carbon bulkheads in series has helped keep the weight estimate at 10.5 t. We discover brighter, clearer layouts (many openings have been added and/or enlarged) and far more careful finishing - overall, it is undeniably more welcoming. The sail plan has remained faithful to that of the 50, which translates into unchanged speed potential. With 15 knots of wind during our downwind run off Groix, the 52.2 #1 sold to a couple of Americans managed an average of 8.5 knots upwind (55° from the actual wind). Under gennaker, we even reached 14.5 knots at 120° from the actual wind - enough to shorten the oceans, isn’t it? ► Technical Specifications: Builder : ORC Catamarans Architects : Barreau/Neuman Design : Franck Darnet Design Length : 51'12'' (15.84 m) Beam : 26'11'' (8.2 m) Displacement : 23,149 lb (10.5 t) Draft : 4'7’'/9'4'' (1.4/2.85 m) Air draft : 73'2'' (22.3 m) Main sail : 942 sq ft (87.6 m²) Solent : 764 sq ft (71 m²) Powertrain : 2 x 40 HP Fuel : 2 x 30.4 US gal (2 x 115 l) CE Category : A12/B12/C16/D16 ► www.ocean-rider-catamarans.com ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! #tricat690XL #trimaran #voile #multicoque #tricat #courseaularge #bateautransportable #nautisme

Full video walkthrough tour of the yacht for sale Cobra Nautique 9.7m Inboard, 9.7-199. She stands out as a premier example of British craftsmanship, combining a high-performance deep-V hull with the rare advantage of a Volvo D6 370hp inboard diesel engine. Capable of 46 knots, this vessel offers a refined and economical alternative to the common outboard configuration, making it an ideal choice for a long-range coastal cruiser or a sophisticated superyacht tender. The twin-chine design ensures a dry, stable ride, while the upgraded 450L fuel tank provides the endurance needed for longer trips and passages. The specification is exceptionally high, featuring grey tubes with carbon accents, custom shock-absorbing helm seats, and synthetic teak decking throughout. For social use, the deck offers comfortable Silvertex seating for six, an integrated dining table, and a day head, complemented by a Garmin electronics suite and Fusion audio. ⚓
We cross a shallow channel, and tie up to rocks at Syvota. We relax by day, and once it cools off a little we visit town by night. It has a relaxed, holiday vibe to the town and a beautiful outlook for sunset. We leaving our anchor gets caught on another boats chain; we manage to release it then set sail for Corfu island. We spend one day far South, the following at Notos and Kez has her last swim in the Mediterranean. We head for Corfu itself next and anchor just below the Old Town. We wander the streets, take in the atmosphere and get lost amongst the stall and streets. We farewell Nanny who heads home to Australia, while we catch up with our friends from Montenegro before we set sail for Albania in the next episode. Want early access to our videos? This is the ULTIMATE day boat/fishing machine for the boater who's very clear on his or her mission. If you have had the bigger boats with multiple cabins but now your lifestyle leans more towards days aboard the boat instead of nights. Or if you just want a platform that's super flexible on the number of guests you can accommodate the the sea state you can still go out in while keeping your guests dry and protected then the Grady White Freedom 415 is that boat. While underway she absolutely behaves like a big yacht when crossing swells and parting waves. But from an operational perspective she's still a vessel that a solo operator could manage no worries. This I believe is the secret of these new Dual Console designs. You could be doing a Friday night Corporate Cruise with your work buddies, with your wife and kids having a picnic on Saturday and heading offshore at 5am on Sunday with 6 of your fishing buddies to catch Marlin. In each of these scenarios this Grady will keep everyone dry, comfortable and safe while also enjoying the ride in a wide variety of sea states that this hull will clearly eat up and leave in her wake. Join me aboard Mirage for a beautiful solo sailing passage from Eleuthera to Lynyard Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas. With the Code 0 flying all the way and Mirage mostly on a close reach, this turned into a fast and exciting adventure across the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas. Even after more than six months in the water, with the hull carrying a thick layer of marine growth, Mirage still sailed strong and fast. The weather was sunny, the sea was gorgeous, and the passage reminded me why solo sailing can be so rewarding. In this video, I also share my sailing experience around Eleuthera - the anchorages, the conditions, and what it felt like exploring one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas. Solo sailing at its best. Welcome aboard Mirage.
We discovered Makassar's Paotere Harbour packed with traditional timber vessels that provide so much of the country’s commercial transport. Indonesia boasts the world's largest fleet of timber ships carrying all sorts of goods between it’s seventeen thousand islands. Strolling these docks, our minds were easily transported back centuries to a time before huge cranes lifting containers to when all freight was loaded by hand on the backs of men. In this episode of the Sailing and Cruising the East Coast of the United States podcast, hosts Bela Musits and Mike Wasserman welcome accomplished sailor and author Mark Gabrielson. Mark is known for participating in "Corinthian" sailboat races—meaning strictly amateur events with no paid crew or captain—and for his two highly regarded maritime history books. The conversation dives into Mark's literary works, Deer Isle's Undefeated America's Cup Crews: Humble Heroes from a Downeast Island and Corinthian Resolve: The Story of the Marion-Bermuda Race. As a natural storyteller, Mark shares fascinating insights into the history of sailing, the nuances of racing, and the unique beauty of the Maine coast. From his first memories of sailing as a five-year-old in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, where running aground was a fun way to learn, to discussing the future of the sport, Mark covers a broad spectrum of the sailing experience. He emphasizes the importance of early positive social experiences and accessibility, noting that sailing is unique in its ability to offer both a quick, easy entry and a lifetime of subtle refinement for those who want a deeper challenge. In this video I introduce the idea of Longitudinal AI Systems — continuity-rich AI interactions that evolve over long periods of time under real-world operational conditions. The central idea is simple: Projects rarely fail because of lack of intelligence or focus. They fail because of lack of continuity. Effort and focus are additive. Continuity is the multiplier. Over the last year I’ve been developing what I call the L-Matrix aboard my racing yacht Osprey while preparing for a solo, Eastabout circumnavigation beginning in December 2027, as part of the Global Solo Challenge. This video is a field report from inside that ongoing experiment. This video explores how continuity, retrieval structures, navigable compression, and long-duration interaction may create genuinely useful AI systems without collapsing into hype, mythology, or anthropomorphism.

Not all the teams are here, no one is sailing their 75ft Cup boat and this isn’t where the 38th America’s Cup will be contested. So why is the first Preliminary event in the Sardinian town of Cagliary so important? This is not a typical Leopard 45 — it’s a thoughtfully engineered, self-sufficient cruising platform built for serious liveaboard comfort and extended off-grid autonomy. Over the past two years the vessel has undergone an extensive modernization focused on reliability, efficiency, and eliminating dependence on shore power, propane, and marinas. The result is a quiet, solar-powered cruising catamaran capable of anchoring for weeks at a time with residential-level convenience. At the heart of the system is a massive 2,160Ah lithium battery bank paired with 4,300 watts of solar mounted on a custom stainless arch with extendable panels, dual Victron Quattro inverter/chargers, and a complete Victron monitoring and distribution network. Every major onboard system — air conditioning, refrigeration, watermaker, cooking, and electronics — is designed to operate cleanly and efficiently from battery and solar. Soft-start technology across the boat keeps loads smooth and silent, while Starlink provides reliable connectivity from remote anchorages. The galley has been converted to modern electric living with upgraded Isotherm refrigeration, filtered water, and an electric cooking solution. Comfort upgrades include new air-conditioning units, filtered showers, upgraded lighting, and improved tank monitoring. Navigation and safety systems feature new radar, AIS, and updated charting. Recent mechanical servicing, fresh bottom paint, serviced saildrives, new props, and upcoming engine service mean the next owner steps aboard a vessel that is both turnkey and mechanically current. For adventure, the boat comes equipped with a nearly new Highfield tender and Honda outboard, full dive setup, snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, security system, and extensive spares inventory — making her ready for immediate cruising without additional outfitting. This Leopard 45 is ideal for buyers seeking a modern electric-leaning cruising lifestyle: quiet anchorages, minimal generator use, and true independence without sacrificing comfort. Simply provision, cast off, and go.
