With check in complete, we are now free to roam and enjoy what Greece has to offer. After a 3 hour motor-sail we arrive at a relaxing little area called Notos. We drop anchor in just a few metres of water and head to the beach. Our buddy boat The Responsible Choice join us here and we have dinner at.a local restaurant trying traditional Greek dishes and admiring the view. Here we meet new boat friends who also have children onboard and he kids hit it off. It was so nice to see them playing and happy. Following this we merge plans and spend the following weeks together. Want early access to our videos?

Nothing tests your "Agile Engineering" skills like returning from a massive grocery haul to a dead fridge in 91°F heat. I’m getting the dreaded Triple L error code, which means the thermostat is officially out of the game. After weeks on the hard stand, the moment of truth has finally arrived. In the last episode we hauled Stella out of the water and immediately ran into one problem after another, removing the propeller, dropping the rudder, pulling the shaft, and even cutting out the cutless bearing twice. Now the work continues. In this episode Jesse returns from Australia with a new cutless bearing, boat parts, and a few surfboards, and we get back to work trying to put Stella back together. From installing the new cutless bearing and prop shaft, to painting the hull with Primocon primer and Micron 99 antifoul, this week has been all about rebuilding Stella piece by piece. With the help of our amazing friends, neighbors on the hard stand, the Rebak Marina team, and Yacht Supplies Malaysia, we finally begin to see real progress. But the real test comes when Stella goes back into the water. Will everything be sealed properly? Will the thru-hulls leak? Will the drip seal hold? Boat life isn’t always sunsets and sailing , sometimes it’s weeks of hard work in the boatyard just to get back out to sea. But once Stella splashes again, the next adventure begins. Now it’s time to provision the boat, organize the interior, and prepare for our next sailing journey… Indonesia. 💙 A huge thank you to everyone supporting us on Patreon — you truly help make this sailboat life possible. We completed our last-minute provisioning in Sandakan with new crew Geoff and Anne before setting off to negotiate the shallow shoals and enter the Kinabatangan River. After a leisurely motor upstream to the midway stopping point at the big U-bend, we took the tender into a side lagoon for a true Borneo jungle adventure. That evening, all the rally boats gathered for a celebratory drink. Unfortunately, we were interrupted by the blast of a tug’s horn as it came downriver towing a huge barge. With no time to waste, we leapt into the tender and raced to the first upstream boat, dropping two people aboard to get it started and out of the way. I immediately spun the tender around and pushed with everything it had, forcing the yacht sideways just enough to narrowly clear the oncoming barge. We then raced downriver, pushing each yacht in turn to clear a path. There simply wasn’t time for anyone to lift anchor and move under their own power. Thankfully, every yacht in the barge’s path was shifted to safety. Continuing upriver, we made it as far as the powerlines at Sukau, 36 nautical miles inland, and enjoyed a couple of wildlife tours in search of proboscis monkeys, orangutans, hornbills, and—if we were lucky—a pygmy elephant. On the return journey, we once again negotiated shallow shoals and strong currents before making our way back out, covering a total of 86 nautical miles along the river. WHO ARE WE? Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breath taking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. Day 32. Today started rough. Really rough. Last night was gusty with squalls coming through constantly. I didn’t sleep at all. I was just up and down the whole night in full rain gear, reefing and unreefing. I wanted to go fast, so I kept trying to use the wind between the gusts, pushing when I could, then reefing again when the squalls hit. It worked… but it was exhausting. By the time morning came, I was completely drained. I had planned to have a productive morning, but that didn’t happen. I was just too tired. I ended up sleeping and resting instead, which honestly was what I needed. Later on, I started my little cleanup mission. Of course, I waited until it got properly hot, which didn’t help. At some point I genuinely felt like I might faint, so I had to take it slow and not push too much. So not the most efficient day… but still, things got moving a little. And the big thing is this: there are only 300 nautical miles left. Which is kind of crazy to even say. After everything, all the days, all the routines, all the ups and downs… it’s right there now. And I honestly could not be more excited. 🌊 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Buy new engine mounts for your engine on www.ellebogen.com They have engine mounts for almost all marine engines and can help you in the selection of the right model. As our old engine mounts were severly rusted from some water leaks on the engine it was time to swap them out for some nice and shiny new ones. Ellebogen sponsored us with a complete set of new mounts. Installation is just a matter of lifting up the engine, getting the old mount out, setting the height on the new mount and putting it back. They are a direct replacement with the same hole patern as the original Yanmar mounts. Want to help us out? We’re on a mission to reach a pocket of untamed wilderness in the 40-degree latitudes before winter closes in and the gaps between storms disappear. The west coast of Tasmania is one of the last surviving wildernesses on Earth—1.5 million hectares of national park, much of it World Heritage listed, and almost entirely inaccessible by road. It’s where dramatic mountain ranges collide with a wild coastline, hammered by relentless weather driven by the Roaring Forties. Enjoying the episodes? There's something really nice about an early morning boat ride, when the sun is shining and the winds are low. Located Right next to Beusoleil, the Gin Islands are just two of 63 islands that make up the Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Well known to Aboriginal peoples as a bad weather refuge and stopping place, Beausoleil was used as a base for hunting and trading as far back as 7,000 years ago! Early voyageurs marked it as a midpoint on their travels between the Severn River and north Georgian Bay. Today it's a great recreational boating destination, with incredible views. Just be careful getting in. As always on Georgian Bay, there are plenty of rocks around!

We were warned about Recife but went anyway... We leave Fernando de Noronha, our first stop in Brazil, and set sail towards mainland. Along our sail through Europe so far several people has warned us about Recife... and that we should skip the city. But crew changes were already planned there and we were a bit curious to see how it really is like. After spending about a week there we found that we really like the city; lots of Brazilian vibes. While it is more intense than cities we are used to, Recife turned out to be a place we are really glad that we visited. 🛠 Subscribe for more updates from our journey as we sail from Sweden to Brazil and the Caribbean. --------------------------------------------- Hi, we’re Thomas and Petra! Part 2: Finding the exact moment the sun is at its highest ☀️ This is where it gets a bit more precise. It’s not enough to see the sun at the top. It looks like it stays there for a few minutes… but that’s not accurate enough. We need the exact second. So instead of trying to catch that moment directly, I work around it. I take a measurement about an hour before the sun reaches its highest point and lock that angle in the sextant. Then I wait. About an hour after the sun has passed its peak, I measure again without changing the sextant… and wait until the sun comes back to that exact same angle. Now I have two moments in time where the sun was at the same height. The highest point is exactly in the middle of those two times. That’s the moment I need. From there, it’s calculation time… and this is where knowing if I’m east or west really matters. I break that down in the video. ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Mein 2. Join us as we settle into the beautiful marina life in Cartagena, Spain! After weeks at sea, we’re finally tied up in this historic Mediterranean port, soaking up the warm autumn sun and the lively energy of the city. Cartagena feels like one endless party right now — with cruise ships lining the harbour, streets buzzing with traditional singing, folk music performances, and even medieval-style festivals bringing history to life through colourful parades and reenactments. We’re embracing the slower pace: hitting the local gym for some much-needed workouts, then rewarding ourselves with lazy mornings at charming cafes. Nothing beats a classic tostada con tomate solo — fresh tomato-rubbed toast with olive oil and a perfect café con leche — paired with people-watching and the sound of live music drifting through the air. From wandering the marina decks watching massive cruise liners come and go, to joining in the festive atmosphere of Cartagena’s cultural celebrations, this episode is all about finding that perfect balance between boat life routines and immersing ourselves in Spain’s vibrant culture. If you love sailing vlogs, Mediterranean travel, Spanish food, or just the joy of slow travel in a stunning historic city, hit play and come along for the ride! Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and ring the bell for more episodes as we continue our Mediterranean adventure aboard Helios. We left Florida with a plan for the Bahamas, and it started falling apart almost immediately. What followed was one of the most challenging and beautiful seasons we’ve had, from early sail damage to a lightning strike that changed everything. We left Florida with a plan for the Bahamas, but things started going sideways almost immediately with sail damage heading into Bimini. From there the season took us through some of the most remote parts of the Bahamas, including the Ragged Islands, where we found some of the best diving we’ve ever experienced. Then everything changed. A lightning strike left us dealing with damaged systems, ongoing repairs, and trying to keep moving forward without the equipment we normally rely on. This is what Season 4 actually looked like. This episode follows our real-life sailing journey from Florida through the Bahamas and into the Dominican Republic, including offshore passages, sail damage, remote anchorages, and the impact of a lightning strike at anchor. -------------------- 🌊 Sailing Dark Angel follows our real-life journey sailing the Caribbean aboard our Island Spirit catamaran, sharing the challenges, adventures, and everyday moments of liveaboard sailing life. -------------------- 🎥 Become part of the Crew on Patreon Without a Crew, a Ship Has No Direction. Today, we’re stepping aboard the Prestige M7, a luxury power catamaran that completely changes what you expect from a yacht in this size range. The first thing that stands out is the volume. The salon feels massive, the panoramic windows bring in so much natural light, and the flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces is just seamless. Some of my favorite features? The open, airy layout, the incredible sense of space, and how comfortable everything feels — this is the kind of yacht you can truly spend time on. It feels more like a modern waterfront home than a traditional boat. Rico was loving how the multihull platform affects stability and efficiency — this is a completely different experience compared to a monohull.
