Seven Champions Crowned in the 2026 RORC Cowes Offshore Series Seven category champions have been crowned after the 2026 RORC Cowes Offshore Series brought nearly 150 boats together for a season of accessible, high-quality offshore racing from Cowes. Venomous, L’Ange de Milon, Bulldog, Bellino and Zanzibar claimed the five IRC class titles, while Slinky Malinki won the Multihull division under MOCRA and Swift topped Class40. Running from 2 May – 6 September, the Series combined seven established RORC races: the Cervantes Trophy, Myth of Malham, De Guingand Bowl, Salcombe Gin Morgan Cup, Cowes Dinard St Malo Race, Channel Race and Nautical Cloud Cherbourg Race. The best five results counted towards each boat’s final score. The fleet ranged from a Contessa 32 to a Volvo 70, bringing Grand Prix campaigns, experienced offshore teams, youth crews and Corinthian sailors into the same programme. With most races starting on Saturday morning and finishing in time for crews to return home on Sunday, the format delivered serious offshore competition without demanding a full week away from work and plenty of fun both afloat and at the RORC Cowes Clubhouse. Graeme Lewis’ Carroll Marine 60 Venomous won IRC Zero, ahead of James Neville’s Botin 52 Ino Veritas and Guy Gillon’s Botin 56 Khumbu. IRC One produced a close contest. Jacques Pelletier’s French prototype L’Ange de Milon finished just 16.7 points ahead of Trevor Middleton’s JPK 1180 Black Sheep. Nick and Jacquetta Edmonds’ J/45 Stickleback completed the class podium. RORC Vice Commodore Derek Shakespeare, racing his J/122 Bulldog was the clear winner in IRC Two. Jean-Eudes Renier’s Pogo RC Midnight Blues was second, with Richard Powell’s First 40 Rogan Josh third. Rob Craigie’s Sun Fast 3600 Bellino, raced with RORC Commodore Deb Fish, won a deep IRC Three. Ian Hoddle’s Sun Fast 3300 Game On was second and Fujitsu British Soldier, campaigned by the Army Sailing Association, placed third. In IRC Four, Inka Luhrs and Richard Bretherton’s Sun Fast 3200 Zanzibar scored won by 25 points from Mark Brown’s JPK 1010 Jetpack. Rob Cotterill’s J/109 Mojo Risin completed the top three. The closest title fight came in the Multihull division. Peter Coote’s Dazcat 1295 Slinky Malinki defeated Didier Bouillard’s Minor Swing, another Dazcat 1295, by just 6.3 points. Dave Summers’ Dazcat 1495 DMS Vinyl was third. Greg Leonard’s Swift won Class 40, ahead of Nicolas Lemarchand’s Weeecycling. For several teams, the Series formed the opening part of a two-year campaign towards the 2027 Rolex Fastnet Race. It also gave the RORC Griffin Pathway’s under-30 crew responsibility for planning, preparing and racing its own campaign, building skills on and off the water. Multiple Griffin teams raced the club’s Sun Fast 3600 RORC Griffin, giving an extended squad valuable experience. The history and architecture was overwhelming and made me wonder why we we can't create today like the Venitians did. I have my ideas... We were met by Matthias who is a Swiss national residing in Venice. He was so kind to show us how to walk like a Venetian. Haha. We stayed for three nights with a two night stay at the St Regis before we departed back to Croatia. We initially arrived in the town of Novigrad but decided to search out other anchorages. All we found were nudist resorts and Nicole flatly refused to anchor there so we returned to the mostly clothed Novigrad.

The flybridge accommodates five people around a U-shaped bench seat, while the aft cockpit can seat eight around the table and also features a bar and barbecue/griddle area. Large openings provide continuity with the saloon and galley. ► Below deck, three- or four-cabin layouts are available, all with private access to their own bathroom, for a maximum capacity of 12 berths. A crew cabin can also be installed in one of the forward compartments. Until now, the forward opening had been reserved for Lagoon Signature models (60 feet and above); the 47 suggests a new generation that will introduce this configuration on future models. While the forward door sparked considerable debate in 2010 with the launch of the Leopard 44, over the years it has become a standard feature - and today, an undeniable asset. The YOT 53 is the first inboard power catamaran from YOT, and it feels like a 60 footer. Brad Kauffman and Steve Varrow walk every inch of her at Cannes. The YOT 53 carries over the ideas that worked on the Bali range: the tilting aft door that opens the salon to the cockpit, the full-size galley fridge, and the midline bulkhead moved aft so the interior runs uninterrupted from stern to bow. Then it adds a flybridge covering nearly 70% of the boat, twin Yanmar shaft drives, and joystick docking that spins her 360 degrees in her own length. What you'll see in this walkthrough: the forward U-shaped galley that takes up a third of the interior, with electric cooking and a 32-bottle wine fridge. The full-beam owner's suite with 6'6" of headroom, a dry head separate from the shower, and direct access to a private bow terrace. Guest and VIP cabins where every shower is full size, which is not how 53-foot power cats are usually laid out. The flybridge with its own cooktop, ice maker and refrigerator, seating up to twelve. Pop-up capstan winches that drop flush into the deck. A hydraulic swim platform that also gets guests with mobility issues into the water, and a 500 kg crane for tenders over 12 foot. Up to 5,000 watts of Solbian solar, cut from a digital print of the boat. Both helms, with every control mirrored. And Django from YOT on why Yanmar, what she cruises at, and why there's almost no hull slap. Don't skip the 48-volt section at 17:24. Generators are good for 20,000 to 30,000 hours, so on a charter boat that's the difference between replacing one inside four years or not. Beide erzählen, wie sie Erholungsphasen bewusst einbauen, vom Powernapping über Laufrunden im Hafen bis zu Trainingsbändern an Bord. Clemens berichtet von einem Kabelbrand bei vier bis sechs Meter Welle vor Island, bei dem seine Fitness und Ruhe direkt gefragt waren. Claus erzählt, wie er auf langen Nachtturns eine feste Struktur einhält, um nicht in Lethargie zu verfallen. 🌊 7 Beaufort mit einer 3,94-Meter-Jolle – das kann nicht immer gutgehen… 😅 Bei unserem Törn mit der Topaz Magno auf der Ostsee wurden aus sportlichem Segeln schnell jede Menge Kenterungen. Starker, böiger Wind, bis zu ca. 1,5 Meter Welle und eine kleine Gleitjolle mit zwei Erwachsenen an Bord. Mehrfach konnten wir die Magno wieder aufrichten – manchmal kenterte sie direkt danach wieder.
