After a long passage, we’ve finally made it to Ambon… but there’s no time to relax! With cupboards running low and the boat needing supplies, we dive headfirst into four hectic days of errands in a foreign country. Grocery shopping becomes an adventure of its own, fuel runs mean hauling endless jerry cans, and spare parts are high on the mission list. Luckily, we’ve found the perfect base — tied up to an incredible fishing pontoon/restaurant that’s become a safe haven for yachties in an area where anchoring can be seriously tricky. In between the chaos, we ditch the kids for a day and jump on a scooter mission through the backstreets of Ambon. We get completely lost, weaving through people’s houses, riding through kitchens and laundries, before stumbling across a hidden lush rainforest waterfall right in the middle of the city! It’s been a wild, action-packed few days, but the boat is stocked, fuel tanks are full, and we’re finally ready to continue the adventure towards Wangi Wangi, the stunning atolls of Wakatobi, and the remote shipbuilding island of Taka Bonerate. 🌴⛵ Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and come along for the journey!

From Headhunters to Master Artists: The Secrets of Telina Island 🪓 Deep in the Marovo Lagoon lies Telina Island, a place world-renowned for its craftsmanship, but built upon a fierce and shadowed history. In this episode, we step off the boat and into a living museum. We begin by deconstructing the Tomoko—the traditional war canoe. Adorned with shell inlays and spiritual totems, these vessels were designed for both protection and psychological warfare. We learn how ancient warriors used conch shells to synchronize their pace and strike fear into their enemies. But the real magic happens in the hands of the local artisans. Using nothing but basic manual tools, the carvers of Telina produce work that is arguably the best in the world. We were invited into a custom-built display home to witness these masterpieces firsthand, alongside intricate hand-woven baskets and fans that carry the legacy of generations. Finally, we trek up the mountain with our guide, Vyno, to stand where his ancestors stood. We explore the "Hidden Caves"—fortresses tucked into the cliffs where tribes lived in secrecy during the headhunting era. This is a well maintained entry level affordable ski boat! This boat has a simple ballast system, and a wake plate but no perfect pass. Direct drive setup works amazingly for skiing and is also well suited for wakeboarding or surfing with the right ballast setup. The engine is an Indmar Assault 350 EFI with 582 hours on it, so lots of life left. The exterior is in great condition and the interior is pretty clean despite having some minor marks around the upholstery. There is a Bluetooth stereo with amp and 6 cockpit speakers plus 4 tower speakers and a bazooka tube sub. There is also a bus heater to keep you warm on those early morning ski sessions! Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 336 Last week, we dove with black tip reef sharks - curious, peaceful, harmless. This week? Bull sharks. One of the most aggressive and dangerous shark species on the planet. We sailed to a new island in Fiji specifically for this: to dive with bull sharks for the first time. They're territorial, unpredictable, and capable of thriving in both saltwater and freshwater, which makes them one of the few sharks that venture into rivers and shallow coastal areas where humans are. They're in the top three for unprovoked attacks on humans. And today, we're getting in the water with them. This isn't something we're doing casually. We're diving with Kuata Barefoot Resort, one of the only places in Fiji where you can experience bull sharks in a controlled, professional environment. The dive masters know these sharks individually—they've named them, studied their behavior, and created a safe way for people to witness these apex predators up close. But here's the thing: this operation feeds the sharks. And when we found out, we had mixed feelings. Feeding changes their behavior, conditions them to associate humans with food. It's not how we prefer to see wild animals. But this team does it with extreme caution, respect, and years of experience. And honestly? The experience was unforgettable. Getting in the water, my nerves were through the roof. But once we were positioned and watching these powerful animals move through their environment, a calm washed over me. They're beautiful, commanding, effortless. You feel the respect immediately—you're in their world. We survived. Pulling in at night with the skyline lit up is something we won’t forget anytime soon. And this is just the beginning. We’ve got a long list to get through before crossing the Pacific—new rigging, replacing our teak decks, tracking down important packages, and provisioning enough food to last us 4–6 months at sea. För mig handlar det här också om en tydlig skärpning av skolplikten. Bland annat diskuteras: – om undantag för långvarig utlandsvistelse ska begränsas – och under vilka omständigheter barn kan få längre ledighet från skolan För oss och många andra familjer som valt ett friare liv och ibland befinner oss utomlands, är det här en stor förändring. Jag tycker det är märkligt hur lite det här lyfts. En så pass stor förändring som påverkar barn, familjer och framtida val borde diskuteras mer öppet. 👉 Läs själv.
