Before Dilly-Dally is going to the hard for a couple of days to get a new underwater dress, we sailed once again to the sunken city of Kekova. A really lovely spot especially before season starts. Some of the restaurants in Kaleköy suffer from huge damages caused by the enormous storm in February. While the owners are still repairing their restaurants they found time to cook us fabulous meal.

We leave the Bahamas for a 400nm passage to Charleston, SC using the Gulf Stream to whip us north at 11 kts before the wind turns against us. While working on this new catamaran line, the shipyard’s in-house designers have been looking for ways to express the spirit of a classic sail yacht through modern marine architecture. As the first drawings were made, the idea became clear. An all-around sailing yacht range ideal for exclusive getaways, charter and transoceanic adventures emerged. July 2018 In Episode 2, we took off for a 15 hour drive down the coast, stopping to drop off our little cutie, Sparticus while we participated in the survey and sea trial of our dream yacht, a 2005 Lagoon 440 with hybrid Solomon electric drives. After we got home, the surveyor for our 1996 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge 370 arrived and Erik got to put her power to the test on an absolutely beautiful summer day on the Chesapeake Bay. With Nandji on the hard stand, it is time to get this old engine off our boat! Good Riddance Old Smoky! https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, with Nandji firmly set on the hard stand our boat refit begins. After having so many troubles with our old engine in the past, this was the first job tackled, ripping out the old engine. Nandji is a centre cockpit vessel and the engine is directly below the cockpit, making the obvious choice for removal through the cockpit, hence cutting a hole in the floor. We plan to overhaul the entire engine compartment and everything to do with the old engine. New drive system including gearbox, new exhaust system and new fuel system, including the fuel tank itself. The old fuel tank was made out of steel and had become rusty and no doubt close to leaking, time to fix everything and get this old stuff of our boat. With some clever rigging techniques, steadily the old fuel tank and our old engine "Old Smoky" are removed and taken away. We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have just sailed 2000nm through Indonesia and have arrived to Malaysia to complete major boat work, ready for the next big adventure. We departed Australia 18 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced different cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! We turn to the professionals to stop the small leak in our dinghy and learn some good tips to repairing a hypalon dinghy. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Gili Air is an adorable island off the coast of Lombok. It is quaint and quiet, has amazing food, kind and welcoming locals, superb diving, and incredible sunsets.
