Arnaud Boissièresn is not only this guy always smiling, joking, originating from Arcachon, adopted by the public of Les Sables d’Olonne. While cutting his eyeteeth, his motivation transformed into a communicative energy, knowing where he was heading, what he wanted, what he was looking for. “I don’t see myself doing a fourth Vendée Globe just to enter the book of world records,” he explains. “I’ve built my project as if it was the very first one”. On finishing his first circumnavigation, then aged 36, « Cali » was rightfully satisfied that he had held up against machines of the latest generation on his old boat with a fixed keel (7th position). Four years later, on his Akéna Vérandas, he played in the same court (8th position), always clinging to the first ten places. His first two Vendée Globe races gave him a lot of fulfillment, achieving 3rd best time in the Pacific Ocean in 2013. His last participation was frustrating for him but he showed a lot of wisdom after facing a series of breakage and deciding to slow down in the Southern seas. “In sporting terms, I couldn’t leave it at that” (10th). As soon as he had rounded Cape Horn, Arnaud Boissières, still at sea, called his partners at La Mie Câline to offer them a project including a real technological challenge this time. That’s how Arnaud Boissières, the one who wasn’t “supposed to pursue a career in sailing”, has set a new challenge. He has bought Mike Golding’s former boat, refurbished it, in particular, adding foils with the Mer Agitée team, Michel Desjoyeaux’s shipyard. Michel Desjoyeaux has also helped him in the handling of the boat. If the new boats – all foilers – draw attention in this Vendée Globe 2020, the old units fitted with these appendices will ambush them. With all the experience acquired, “Cali” won’t be the only sailor dreaming of doing his greatest Vendée Globe. IMOCA M

This was my 1st Solo on my 1st proper sailing vessel! Dagny is a 1974 Ericson 32', a Southern California cruiser/racer designed by Bruce King. I purchased this lovely yacht over 3 weeks ago (from the posting of this video) I made this video to document this personal milestone. Left Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay Harbor at 9 a.m. with little to no wind. Returning was a different story and the wind was gusting on my starboard/stern (yar!) pushing me into the dock a little faster than I wanted. Local fisherman was walking by and helped me with my lines... so I almost did everything myself.

Der längste Schlag unseres Urlaubs steht bevor 60 Seemeilen von Linaria auf Skyros bis Gavrio auf der Insel Andros. Dabei passieren wir die berüchtigte Passage zwischen Andros und Euböa wo der Meltemi fast immer noch 2 Bft stärker weht. Wir, Joachim und Sabine, sind die Crew der Atanga. Wir sind am 01. Juni 2014 in Hamburg gestartet. 2015: Kanarischen Inseln 2016: Kapverdische Inseln, im Februar 2016 unsere Atlantik-Überquerung nach Französisch Guyana. Dann kleine Antillen und noch einmal die Guyanas und Suriname mit der Nereid’s Rally. 2017: ABC-Inseln (nur BC), Mexiko und Belize. In Mexiko haben wir eine dreiwöchige Rundreise im Landesinneren unternommen. Im Anschluss kamen Providencia und Kolumbien Festland (ebenfalls mit einer dreiwöchigen Rundreise) und die San Blas Inseln in Panama. 2018: Wir wurden im Januar in Panama vom Blitz getroffen. Die Reparatur dauerte drei Monate. Nach der Passage durch den Panama Kanal haben wir den Rest des Jahres in Ecuador verbracht und fünf Wochen das Landesinnere erkundet. 2019: Osterinsel, Gambier, Tuamotu und Gesellschaftsinseln. 2020: Die Corona-Krise hat uns in Gambier (Franz. Polynesien) erwischt. Wir werden sehen, wohin der Wind uns treibt und wie weit wir kommen.

Vivencia nautica na realidade

It is September 2020 and I just got a new job again, first work day is September 17. In the same city as last time so it's possible to sail my boat to the nearby marina and then have a short distance to work. The job is on a plant in Skive where they make paperbags, the salary is not that good but good enough to buy a new used yacht in near future. For now I go for a Bavaria in the 38-40 foot range.

Busquei a seguei a segurança pela calha... lugar mais fundo, do rio. Mostro tb a dificuldade em ultrapassar as longas balsas, principalmente na correnteza, como foi a primeira. Finalizei o dia, próximo à uma vila, com um refrescante banho de chuva! Bvs
