El primer dia fue duro pero tuvo sus recompensas. En realidad fue la primera toma de contacto real con el barco, ya que empezamos a conocer sus entrañas más de cerca. Y si, los mosquitos estuvieron bastante presentes durante toda la primera noche!
We lifted our Jeep Wrangler by four inches and dropped the transfer case to fix the driveshaft alignment. In combination with the 3 inch body lift, this was almost too high for our garage. In the end, we installed a 1-inch body lift that is sufficient for 33-inch tires. Below you'll find our timestamp index that you can use to search for specific topics within our video. Parts and Tools: Rough Country 4-Inch Suspension Lift Kit with Shocks: https://www.extremeterrain.com/rough-country-4-suspension-yj-620n2.html Conical Pitman Arm Puller: https://amzn.to/39xiTFo Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit: https://amzn.to/366BwxM Husky Mechanics Tool Set: https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD First, we lifted the front end of the Jeep Wrangler. Knowing this was the hardest part of the job due to the steering, we were eager to get it out of the way. Our toughest challenge was removing the pitman arm. After that, the rest of the lift was relatively straightforward. Drilling is necessary to mount the trackbar, but it pales in comparison to removing the pitman arm. Hopefully this won't be an issue for you, but we lubed, hammered, and ground until we got it off. With the front done, we were tempted to just leave it as a squated Jeep. The rear suspension is easy, plus squatted Jeeps look ridiculous. The hardest part of the lift on the rear was the shock bolt bolt, which was our screwup. At the end of the video, in the blooper section, you'll find that. Once the suspension had been lifted, we had to align the drive shaft. If the rear dive shaft is left at a steep angle, the drive shaft may end up on the road. As I learned, after dumping all the transmission oil out you won't just drive your car home in 4WD. If you don't get your angle right, you'll likely break a universal joint. In some cases, you may not be able to shift in all gears after changing the angle of your transmission, either with a transfer case drop, or a body lift. In our Jeep, we had to fix this issue. The process will be fraught with cussing, whining, and crying, but not impossible. Be aware you are going to be grinding on the floor of your Jeep. I hope this helped, or the bloopers at the end showed you some things not to do when lifting your Jeep. I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments. 00:00 How To Lift A Jeep Wrangler 01:55 Rancho Lift Kit, What's In The Box 02:32 Install Lift Kit, Front Suspension Of Jeep Wrangler YJ 22:55 Install Lift Kit, Rear Suspension Of Jeep Wrangler YJ 31:45 Install Transfer Case Drop For Lifted Jeep Wrangler 34:28 Fix Sifter For Body Lift Or Transfer Case Drop 43:03 Our Opinion Of Rancho 4-inch Lift Kit For Jeep Wrangler YJ 46:17 What Not To Do, Mechanic Fails, Bloopers, Outtakes Tools We Love: Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit: https://amzn.to/366BwxM Husky Mechanics Tool Set: https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD Angle Grinder https://amzn.to/36FaC09 Forney Easy Weld Welder https://amzn.to/3romDR1 Welding Helmet https://amzn.to/3wOq58z You can also follow us on our blog: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/subscribe/ Or go directly to cooking: https://www.dininginwithdanielle.com Support us by shopping through our Affiliate Links! A remote anchorage so beautiful and bright no one believes this is not photoshopped. The ground below us glowing at night. Rays gliding through gin-clear waters next to our boat while Ilja takes apart our engine. Arggg... salt-water pump problems! Boat repairs in paradise, cliché confirmed. And then: WE ARE AGROUND! Hello everyone. Here’s some video from yesterday, taken as Carolyn and I sailed from Fishguard to Dale in Milford Haven harbour. I hope you like the sounds of the boat sailing. Perhaps I should have moved the spinnaker halyard away from the spinnaker pole before firing up the GoPro. Clang, clang, clang - the sounds of sailing. Never mind. Next time. Regards from Rick and Carolyn.
Regular viewers might remember that a couple of months ago we showed you our new boat. A Squib. Well this week we show you what we did with it and take you on board for its first race We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Patreon account. We don’t want to do that at this stage as we feel it would turn the channel into a business, and as we said at the beginning, this is all just for fun. However if you would like to support us and feel you could help contribute to the cost of making these films then you can do that via our PayPal account here. A big thank you to everyone that has already done this, its a great help. https://www.paypal.me/TheFoxwellFamily And a big thank you to everyone that has supported us so far, its very much appreciated. In this episode, we get a tour of a Pogo 36. For those who aren't familiar, watch this separate boat tour video here: https://youtu.be/QAfHNSBjqu0 We also sail south and intercept the start of a Mini Transat Race. These boats are small, at only 6.5m / 21 ft long, but go super quick, surfing downwind at speeds up to 20kts. If you don't already, go find @TheSailingFrenchman who is a youtube star, now racing hard and fast at the front of the Mini field. And last in this episode, we get to see where our dear Panda Boat was born, the Amel Factory! Its a brief tour, but for those who want to see a more in-depth and fantastic exploration of all-things amel, head on over to @svdelos where they do an exceptional tour: https://youtu.be/W3-mh0rwrmw 📺BINGE Watch our Journey📺 https://youtu.be/w58uZsntFa0 📣UPDATES on the Socials📣 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sailingpanda Facebook https://www.facebook.com/SailingSVPanda 🍺SUPPORT our Journey🍺 Become a Patreon Member - https://www.patreon.com/sailingpanda Or, One time contributions - https://paypal.me/DarrenSeltzer 🐼SUBSCRIBE for FREE 🐼 https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingPanda ⛵MORE about PANDA BOAT⛵ https://youtu.be/aq52YgzuIbI 📸OUR Gear📸 Sony 6400 https://amzn.to/2TvFDNi GoPro 8 https://amzn.to/2Jd39wM DJI Osmo https://amzn.to/31K2mJV DJI Mavic Mini https://amzn.to/3kAigyb Headphones Jabra Elite https://amzn.to/3mqB4Am Recording Mic https://amzn.to/2Tuxzwm Camera Mic https://amzn.to/3kAm3vn 🤗OUR Partners🤝 UKSailmakers: https://www.uksailmakers.com BattleBorn Batteries https://battlebornbatteries.com Solbian Solar https://www.solbian.eu/ 📧Contact US!📧 Email and say Hello anytime! We get our 85 pound Mantus Marine Anchor assembled and attach the Mantus Marine Swivel to our chain. But before we can install the anchor we discover that we need a new haus hole for the anchor chain to meet up with the windlass properly. Our son returns from a mission for our Church, @churchofjesuschrist , and spends a few weeks helping us out. We take advantage of a live band playing next door to stop and listen to the music. @MantusMarine Mantus Anchor: https://bit.ly/3D6GqJc Mantus Anchor Swivel: https://bit.ly/39VsYvj We are a family preparing to sail around the world in our electric sailboat. #turtles #protectingturtles #sailingsuriname #spareboatparts #boatrepair #endangeredturtles In this episode, we want to have a look where turtles go to nest and try to find out a bit more about them . We already know that they are amazing ancient creatures but the chances of their eggs being safely laid, hatched and reaching the water is very low. We look at the reasons why and try to do our little bit to help. Before we leave Suriname, we need to try and find a small part for our main sail furler . This involves going to many many shops and still not finding it so Woody has to problem solve and think of an alternative solution. Welcome aboard Jade and JaeCee!!! If you’re ready for ear to ear smiles this episode is for you :) Our crew for Panama is finally complete. It’s really one of those full-circle stories that will make you smile. We met Jade and JaeCee in the Florida Keys. It turns out that Jade and her Dad watched SV Delos episodes when she lived in Ohio. A few years later she bought her own boat and moved to Key West to start a life working on the water. We hit it off with Jade, and her bestie JaeCee, who both worked at the same sailing charter. And now we have a chance to show them both what it’s really like on an offshore passage! We begin by picking them up at the airport with our good friend Juan, who of course decided to do it Nacho Libre style :) We put everyone straight to work checking off our to-do list. We need to get Covid tests, provision Delos, get off the dock, clean the dirty bottom, and inspect the rigging. But we have a TON of fun doing everything. We rarely get to use our electric motor to motor sail. We have learned to have a great amount of patience while sailing, that we just can't get there fast. Pretty much ever. Sometimes we are happy to sit behind the sails and let the wind take us at its speed. But then there are other times, we JUST WANNA GET THERE! We had big plans to head to Klein Curacao, but the wind changed our plans once again so instead we have a chance to test our our electric motor on our trip over to Fuik Baai. Also we do a dive and see something that is RARELY seen by anyone EVER! Hope you enjoy this episode! big love, Beau + Brandy #beauandbrandy #curacao #electric motor --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -HELP SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION- Join our Patreon: http://bit.ly/BB-Patreon One time Donation via Paypal: http://bit.ly/one-time-donation-bb Be sure you are Subscribed: https://www.youtube.com/c/sailingsaoirse Amazon Wishlist: https://bit.ly/beauandbrandywishlist -SWAG- https://sailingsaoirse.com/shop/ -MUSIC- Epidemic Sound is where we find all of our music. 30 day free trial: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/mxtzxe/ -LETS BE SOCIAL- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse -OUR GEAR WE USE- main camera: https://amzn.to/2lm2bSY go pro camera: https://amzn.to/3hMxf5C backup camera: https://amzn.to/2l8e3ry Waterproof Dry Back Pak: https://amzn.to/2VICYkH electric setup*: controller: https://amzn.to/2lm7hP7 electric motor: https://amzn.to/2ZnLfvN motor controller: https://amzn.to/3getpSw ____________________________________ *This channel is a participant in the Amazon Affiliate Program. Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 48 In this episode, we finally remove our engine from inside the boat. Using no fancy tools! We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted 70ft wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. Before our last two bulkheads go in, we need to make sure they sit in their EXACT place, as there is no margin of error. Because the large transom piece we received with our second container sits as a cap over these two bulkheads, we need to make sure each edge is lining up. But because this piece is 24 ft wide and weighs over 500 pounds, it's not easy to bring it in and out for a dry fit. So, we're going to do our best with measurements between the two and hope for the best. As we go to glass in bulkead 8 though, we find that our new vinyl ester resin is not behaving well in these summer temperatures, and is making it very hard for us to work. A slight set-back, but we know we'll find a way around it to make everything work. We hope you enjoy! *Taking measurements off transom - filmed on August 09 *Bonding aft side of bulkhead 8 - filmed on August 09 *Bonding forward side of bulkhead 8 - filmed on September 10 Much love from Annapolis! Sailing the daunting NORTH COAST of PUERTO RICO en route to SAN JUAN (our favorite Caribbean city as it turns out) we think back to our ORIGINAL plans for our sailing life. We intended to move to the east coast of PR and sail our former boat, LAYLA, here, rent a house, and make this our center of exploration operations in the Caribbean. However, Maria changed those plans for us only 2 weeks after we visited here to iron out the details. Fast forward and here we are FINALLY returning after all the years and ALL this world drama. How would things have been different? Enjoy!! And be sure to SUBSCRIBE for WEEKLY CONTENT EVERY FRIDAY! Cheers!! During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing". On this sail, we hoisted a spinnaker for the first time, and witnessed dolphins swimming with the boat for over 30 minutes! This was the most beautiful sailing video I have ever put together. The sailing conditons were perfect and while we still have a lot to learn to fly a spinnaker, we Some sails don't stand out, and they fade into the background. This one will be in my memory for the long haul! How about a little FAQ ❓Why Folsom Ocean Views?! ⚓️Because Folsom is Charles’ last name and it’s a play on the Johnny Cash Lyric "Folsom Prison Blues". ❓Why a #Catamaran? ⚓️Jes gets really seasick while #sailing and the upstairs galley really helps when we #travel. ❓You both work full time jobs? ⚓️Yup. Charles has a traditional 9-5 position as the Director of Customer Success and Jes owns her own business doing art commissions for clients. #WorkingandSailing ❓Where to Next? ⚓️We are not sure.
