Here are some of the highlights (and lows) of our time in Turkey and Greece. 18months and several thousand nautical miles of sailing. Irreplaceable time together exploring as a family seeing some incredible places, meeting some wonderful people, fixing things that break, dodging weather bullets, trying to stay together living in a tiny house 24/7 . All made harder living through a time of the Covid19 pandemic. All in all.. an experience of a lifetime. This was chapter ONE. This stuff is so spicy!

Finally after 6 years planning, working and saving, we untied the lines at Amsterdam Marina. Our plan: IJmuiden and turn left.. go south. We will see how far we will come and how it goes this trip. Maybe we can pass Calais. It went so well that we continued and went for another night towards Dieppe. Before Dieppe we decided that it was still good that we will go yet a third night, heading for Cherbourg. Some exercise with longer passages for crossing the Bay of Biscay and later the Atlantic On our way to Cherbourg we heard a lot of securité broadcasts on the VHF for a gale warning the next day. We turned on our motor to increase our speed and tried to get in the harbor before the weather turns bad. That was a little mistake, we didn’t watch for the current in front of Cherbourg, so it turned out that we were in the middle of a big washing machine. Everything what we didn’t store well, it flew through our boat from left to right and front to back. We had 15 to 20 knots of wind from behind and current of 4 knots from the front. Our speed was 1,5 knots with our motor running hard. Our track was not straight ;) Lessons learned. Before leaving store everything well and check currents. In the end we safely entered Cherbourg and stayed for 2 cold, rainy days with thunder and lighting We didn’t explore that much in Cherbourg and left after 2 days, to go further south. But that you will see in the next episode! Music: Solitary ZEBRA & Troy and Paula Haag

The Balance 482, Zephyr, was launched at Royal Cape Yacht Club, Cape Town, on a beautiful spring day in September 2021. Her owners, Scott and Amy, landed in Cape Town an hour before her launch and made it to the dock just in time to see their beautiful vessel get splashed. Sparcraft Masts then stepped her rig and Ullman Sails South Africa fitted her mainsail. This video gives some insight into the excitement of launch day and all that is involved. She is designed by Du Toit Yacht Design and built by Balance Catamarans Cape Town. She's a beauty with her elegant grey hulls, and we can't wait to follow her adventures in the Caribbean and beyond! Keep an eye on our digital channels for more footage of this beautiful catamaran. The term “Project” is fitting for us as we are working together collaboratively to achieve a common goal. meraki [mer-ah-kee] (verb) This is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be. In our final days of sailing on the Kraken 50, we get more comfortable living aboard, including cooking in the galley. With Adam and the team dealing with failing winds above deck, below deck, I prepare a semi successful meal for lunch. Not wanting to let the motor beat us but still contending with light winds, in the afternoon we prepared the Kraken's version of a Code 0 - The Code K. We arrive at our anchorage for the evening in almost record time doing 5.5 kts boat speed from 7.4 kts wind. The next morning, with only a 30 mile sail ahead of us, we could afford to spend some time swimming and relaxing. Eventually, we depart and after 5 days of sailing on the boat we head back to the marina to hand it back to its future owners. In this episode GETTING HARDER IN PARADISE I'm sharing my concern about the fact not everyone handles lockdown well and the obvious side effects. 1:38 - When sailors starts calling the Coast Guard on neighbors and do Neighbor Watching its a dangerous path into a world that only few not so good regimes appreciates. In difficult times we should help each other and be kind. Not being racists and shaming sailors on social media. I wanted to spotlight last weeks shocking experience but also explain our reason for again going into a marina. Its not all bad as we are staying positive and Im even babysitting my friends kids this week with lots of fun. Sharing my week as realistic and up to date as possible while we enjoy another beautiful piece of Grenada. I`m very thankful for being a guest on this Island and it's still among my favorite destinations. And its not hopeless as we can still get things done during the week. Its only the weekend lockdowns that's a bit boring. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBING! Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now. Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since. PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS! I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.
Season 8 : Hawaiian Adventures : Episode #208 Hello Friends, On this episode I join one of Captain Mike's snorkel tours off the coast of the world famous Waikiki Beach in Honolulu on Oahu. You can book one of these tours here: https://www.cruisediamondhead.com The boat we went out on, Maori Warrior II will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the boat that brought Triteia into a safe harbor after a very difficult passage! Thanks again to Mike and his crew for the tow and for taking me out on this wonderful day of snorkeling. We get a beautiful downwind sail from Port Sandwich on Malekula Island to Aore Island in the Vanuatu island chain. We learn about Luganville, the commercial centre of Vanuatu’s Northern Islands and explore this sleepy town on a Sunday while waiting for the cloud to clear and the sun to come out so we can dive the famous Million Dollar Point. This is a fascinating dive sight full of World War II debris that the Americans dumped into the ocean before leaving their station on the island. As the story goes, they decided in a mad moment that if the current French and British run country were not willing to pay even a small amount for the remaining equipment and supplies that they would instead dispose of it off the wharf. The locals recovered what they could after the Americans had left but there is still a lot to discover on the ocean floor which in many ways has created a tourist attraction and an artificial reef. We hope you enjoy this episode and get on board to watch more of our adventures.
