In this video, we leave our sandy anchorage off Raiatea and head to Tahaa for a "picnic" with our new French Polynesian family. After a cool meal with fresh catch cooked on a coconut husk grill, as well as a tasty octopus dish, we walk around the motu (island). This motu is primarily a coconut plantation but has many other treasures, including a creepy skull/jaw bone, starfruit trees, and more. A couple of days later we return to the motu and spend two days learning (and helping) do the "copra" harvest. On the first day we help tear apart the coconuts that were split by Jerome with his axe. It took five of us to keep up with how fast he was splitting them! On the second day we returned and carved out the coconut "meat" from inside the shells, collected it all and moved it to an elevated drying table. Now that the copra is drying, we headed out on Amanecer around the west side of Taha'a and found a nice anchorage with a view of Bora Bora and a short dinghy ride in to Tapu'amu, where we explore a rum distillery that features a rum distilled entirely with sugar cane (not the more common molasses base). Tutti i pregi di un rib; stabilità, affidabilità e tenuta, ma con gli spazi e la comodità di uno yacht. Una carena sviluppata su un progetto del mitico Tom Fexas, che può contare sulla funzione statica e dinamica dei suoi speciali tubolari, garantendo sorprendenti doti di stabilità trasversale e ottime prestazioni. Grazie a due Volvo Penta da 440 cavalli ciascuno la barca è in grado di raggiungere una velocità massima di 45 nodi e di navigare in totale sicurezza a una velocità di crociera di 35 nodi. Perfettamente accordata con l’opera viva, la parte che emerge dalle grandi murate, integrate con gli imponenti tubolari, oltre che a proteggere dal mare tutta l’area abitabile, culmina in uno speciale musone semirigido che permette di “appoggiarsi” a qualsiasi superficie senza fare o subire danni. Con un baglio di ben 4,50 metri, ciò si traduce in un volume mai visto prima in un rib, tale da essere riusciti a ricavare due cabine a tutto baglio spaziose e molto abitabili e una toilette. Se gli interni, per spazio, luminosità e visuale, costituiscono l’aspetto più sorprendente del T-Rib, non meno interessante è l’originale layout della coperta che, soprattutto grazie al suo disegno asimmetrico, permette di passeggiare lungo tutto lo scafo in piena sicurezza: dalla piattaforma poppiera fino al salotto di prua, passando per il living esterno (formato da un ampio prendisole e da una comoda dinette a “U”) e per la plancia di comando, posta in posizione centrale. Une fois notre super mousse Aude (ou "Dede" pour les intimes) embarquée à Camaret, nous attendons une fenêtre météo à Audierne avant de nous lancer pour la traversée de 3 jours qui nous mènera jusqu'en Espagne : c'est la traversée du mythique et redouté golfe de Gascogne ! Au menu : Des vagues de face et du vent "au près", une fenêtre météo un peu étroite, une matelote en or, des grosses bêtes, un peu de moteur, et pas mal de nourriture pour les poissons... Im August 2021 sind Simone und ich auf dem GR 11 gewandert. Ich habe wenig Erfahrung und war heilfroh, dass Simone mit dabei war. Sie hat auch einen Teil der Aufnahmen beigesteuert. Välkommen tillbaka! Vi är så glada för att se att det är många fler än vi trodde som tittar på våra videos och som har valt att följa oss (52 stycken i skrivande stund!!), STORT TACK FÖR DET! Därför lägger vi nu ut ett kortare bonusavsnitt. Vi seglar till Flakfortet i Danmark där vi får hela hamnen för oss själva. Seglingen dit är fantastisk och vi kunde segla på rekordtid med bara genuan uppe. Seglingen tillbaka är inte lika harmonisk. Vi har samma 10 m/s vind men i nosen hela vägen hem. Die letzten zwei Wochen war es auf dem Wasser ziemlich angespannt. Denn es traten vermehrt Orcaangriffe auf. So spät hätten wir damit nicht in Portugal gerechnet. Auf dem Weg nach Figueira da Foz wurden zwei unserer Bekannten 60sm südlich von uns angegriffen. Für uns hieß es ab da abwarten und beim Segeln hoffen, dass es uns nicht erwischt. Après notre superbe escale à la Cala Mondrago, nous rejoignons le sud de Majorque mais avec une équipière en plus. Lisa a profité d'une pause d'une semaine dans ses entraînements pour sauter dans un avion et nous rejoindre quelques jours. Nous jetons l'ancre à Portal Vells, une crique au Sud-Ouest de la baie de Palma où nous passons une soirée complètement seuls avant que la houle et le vent rentrent au petit matin. Un voisin arrivé dans la nuit brise sa chaîne et dérive très dangereusement vers les rochers. Comme quoi en voile, en navigation comme au mouillage, le danger guette en permanence... Tarbert is a village in the west of Scotland, in the Argyll and Bute council area. It is built around East Loch Tarbert, an inlet of Loch Fyne, and extends over the isthmus which links the peninsula of Kintyre to Knapdale and West Loch Tarbert. In this weeks episode we spend a week exploring Tarbert, recharging our batteries and generally having fun! Who are we? We are a family of three with three dogs, sailing the coasts of Scotland, exploring one island at a time – for now! There is no set route or plan. We will go where the wind and life take us. We have two golden retrievers and a bernese mountain dog – Hachi, Luna and Meems who sail with us.
