Flanders in England! This week we left the Outremer 5x behind and took a flight to England! London was amazing with so many sites to see. A few highlights for the kids: - Eating authentic fish and chips at a real pub. - Harry Potter Studio Tour London where the magic was experienced by most and spoiled for one. - One of them seeing the Queen during the 70th Jubilee (but why only one?!?). - Finding an American Candy Shop! - The Lion King at London Theatre. One highlight for Gina: - DR. PEPPER! We moved on from London to Windsor where we were able to track down some of Gina's long-lost relatives. It was wonderful spending time with them and always helps you understand what's really important in life. We also toured Windsor Castle, which was unbelievable! On to Scotland next week! Pip Hare’s IMOCA Medallia was the first boat to round Muckle Flugga on the eighth day of the Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race (14th August 17:09:33:31). Described by Medallia’s Watch Leader Paul Larsen as the ‘Cape of the North’. The crew of Medallia were elated to be finally turning south and looking forward to the possibility of fast downwind conditions in the North Sea. “We are very, very happy to see that bit of land!” commented Pip Hare shortly after rounding Muckle Flugga. “We never would have imagined it would take so long to get up here, it has been challenge after challenge. It’s still very complex meteorologically for the rest of the race. We are looking forward to hooking into low pressure and getting some miles underneath us, but the weather is still looking really complicated. This is Episode 45 of our adventure. This week we scramble to finish the last few jobs needed before we can set sail for France. We finish painting the deck and thanks to our new friend Ali, Hugh tests out and proves a solution to secure our handrails though the synthetic toe rail and to the hull. It is a success and he is now confident that this is the answer to all the worries he has been having since the toe rail was fitting last year. We are a family of five with plans for an epic adventure, sailing around the world. We have bought a boat we have to gut it, rebuild it, sell all of our possessions and have the guts to cast off. Rientro a Livorno in 8 ore, a 5 nodi a motore e le ultime 10 miglia a vela a 4 nodi. Effettuato il giro della Capraia, è da Macinaggio a S. Florent sino alla spiaggia di Seleccia.

We explore some of the highlights of Dunk Island, which includes some other island that is not Dunk Island...but it's still a pretty cool island...Connor reports he found a HOT shower on the island, which is a grotty yachties dream come true. Connor has also gotten something stuck in a coconut tree, so we find ourselves heaving and pulling...Slim sits probably the worst exam he has done yet, and we ceremonially burn his exam notes as Liv chants. But it's only just beginning. We are three musketeers rolling out of the anchorage at 5AM to tackle 25 knots of wind and tuna. Of course, the race is on, and we have taken on the challenge to prove Nakama can keep up with the big dogs. We hit our speed record of 10.2 knots, riding down waves before pulling into another tropical paradise. On Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, at about noon, I had a stroke. Let me share what I experienced, felt, and what it led to. I am only 54 years old and in decent health (nonsmoker, non-drug user, drink socially), and I had a stroke. In this video, I will share why I am lucky, and also what I didn't do right and what I will change if I ever feel this way again. Please do share this with family members as I expected a stroke to have some meaningful feeling, but in the end, it didn't, and you need to know what I felt and how you will know if things aren't right with you. Kick back and relax to our snorkelling footage. The body of the saddled seabream is oblong and longer than the white seabream. Its mouth is oblique and it has a silvery grey body that is darker on the back, and fine black longitudinal lines on its sides. There is a large black mark with a white border on the caudal peduncle. Saddled seabream feed on small invertebrates and measure up to 30cm at most. They live on rocky bottoms and in Posidonia seagrass down to 30m below the surface. They are found all over the Mediterranean but are very rare in the Black Sea. In the Atlantic, they occur from the Bay of Biscay to Angola.

In this episode Ziggy is putting the engine back together. It looks pretty rusty so we cannot wait for it to be refurbished and come back looking better than ever. Because the engine compartment has become more spacious, I can easily fit in there now and start removing all the fittings and insulation. I will also show you which paint we chose to paint the engine compartment as well as the bilges and our high-techie-techie room.
