Dubrovnik historically known as Ragusa, is a city on the Adriatic Sea in the region of Dalmatia, in the southeastern semi-exclave of Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, a seaport and the centre of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its total population is 42,615 (2011 census). In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in recognition of its outstanding medieval architecture and fortified old town. The history of the city probably dates back to the 7th century, when the town known as Ragusa was founded by refugees from Epidaurum (Ragusa Vecchia). It was under the protection of the Byzantine Empire and later under the sovereignty of the Republic of Venice. Between the 14th and 19th centuries, Dubrovnik ruled itself as a free state. The prosperity of the city was historically based on maritime trade; as the capital of the maritime Republic of Ragusa, it achieved a high level of development, particularly during the 15th and 16th centuries, as it became notable for its wealth and skilled diplomacy. At the same time, Dubrovnik became a cradle of Croatian literature. The entire city was almost destroyed when a devastating earthquake hit in 1667. During the Napoleonic Wars, Dubrovnik was occupied by the French Empire forces, and then the Republic of Ragusa was abolished and incorporated into the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy and later into the Illyrian Provinces. Later on, in the early 19th to early 20th century, Dubrovnik was part of the Kingdom of Dalmatia within the Austrian Empire. Dubrovnik became part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia immediately upon its creation, and it was incorporated into its Zeta Banovina in 1929, before becoming part of the Banovina of Croatia upon its creation in 1939. During World War II, it was part of the Axis puppet state Independent State of Croatia, before being reincorporated into SR Croatia in SFR Yugoslavia. In 1991, during the Croatian War of Independence, Dubrovnik was besieged by the Yugoslav People's Army for seven months and suffered significant damage from shelling. After undergoing repair and restoration works in the 1990s and early 2000s, it re-emerged as one of the Mediterranean's top tourist destinations, as well as a popular filming location. A feature of Dubrovnik is its walls, which run almost 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) around the city. The walls are 4 to 6 metres (13–20 feet) thick on the landward side but are much thinner on the seaward side. The system of turrets and towers were intended to protect the vulnerable city. The walls of Dubrovnik have also been a popular filming location for the fictional city of King's Landing in the HBO television series, Game of Thrones.

The latest range of DJI drones don't come with waypoint abilities, that means mapping software like Pix4d capture and drone deploy won't work, but happily there is one package that can do automated mapping with these drones, it's called Dronelink, and it's become my favourite mapping software for any mapping missions regardless of drone type. The tools used in this video are: Dronelink: https://www.dronelink.com/ Web OpenDroneMap: https://www.opendronemap.org/webodm/ Both are fantastic tools I highly recommend! Dronelink has a $99 once off fee for the advanced mapping version, but it's well worth it considering it's the only tool that can map with the DJI Mini 2, the Air 2 range, and practically any other DJI drone. It also has a bunch of other useful features, including follow me mode for the Mini 2. OpenDroneMap (webODM in this case) is free and open source if you're building it manually, however if you would like a Windows double click installer that's a $50 purchase from them. I think supporting both OpenDroneMap and Dronelink is well worth doing to make sure these great tools get further developed. The commercial alternatives to OpenDroneMap cost many thousands of dollars, and there simpy isn't a mapping alternative to Dronelink for many of the drones they support. Even if there was, I think it's significantly better than any other mapping software I've used. I hope you find this tutorial useful. Safe flying.

Winning endurance for EV class. Our GoPro ran out of battery before the end. Notably, we were very much held up by traffic because of the great speed difference between EV cars here, so our laptimes varied by almost 10 seconds. What makes the GC32 Racing Tour great? We asked the sailors to answer.

A days sailing and great to have RCSSC member back sailing with Rutland Civil Service Sailing Club (RCSSC) after a long gap due to Covid and lots of other things to keep him busy busy busy. At last some time for Mark to get a sail in. I have never seen Rutland Water so low before as the pictures show. The good news it is so large, we still found plenty of water in both the Northern and Southern legs. In the morning Mark sailed Satyr with Mike and I got some hands on sailing Time Flies with John. The wind picked up throughout the morning but was mainly F2-3 . Lunch break and I joined Mark on Satyr and Mike joined John on Time Flies and the wind really did pick up. The weather warned of thunderstorms and whilst these did not materialise, a god F4-5 did and we lapped it up. All too soon time to recover our keel boats to the boat park, ready for the next sail. But not without a debrief for Mark, Mike and Dave on the clubhouse veranda and enjoyed watch Kids Week sailing, jumping into the water, giant water pistols and all. The picture on the podium was us being 'boys' again. Another great day sailing at Rutland Sailing Club.

It’s time to leave Tipperary Waters Marina and slowly make our way around the corner to the Dinah Beach Careening Poles. Only one little problem though, the shaft has not arrived for the engine, so we have no power. We are escorted to the poles by a flotilla of helpful tenders. Our first night on the poles is pretty eventful with a massive storm which comes in! We make a start on getting the hull ready for painting and Magnus sorts out the anodes. Thanks for watching.
