As you may know we have some standing rigging issues and our Genoa was damaged in a storm along with breaking our furling system track so we are still sailing under reduced sails, but it's ok we are dodging storms, taking refuge when necessary and exploring the quaint little places along the southern coast of Spain as we travel. We are heading towards Almerimar, as we intend to winter there, get Pickle lifted out of the water and do LOADS of boatwork after returning briefly to the UK and attending the Annapolis boat show in the USA, which you will see all in future episodes! We Sail happily from Mallorca to Formentera, a little island just off the coast of Ibiza, we explore ashore and snorkel in a beautiful anchorage full of wonderfull sea life, until we are taken unawares in the early hours of the morning, when a unpredicted storm hits and we find ourselves being pushed onto a rocky shore, finally leaving to seek shelter else where I come a cropper when I slip and fall smacking my face on the sprayhood and splitting my nose open! But it's nothing bit of glue can't fix and we're soon on our way again across from the Balearics to Mainland Spain, anchoring near Alicante. Sailing from Sardinia, Italy to the Balearic, Spain we are caught in a unpredicted storm which blows up to nearly 50 knots so quickly and as we try and reef our sails the furling line for our Genoa (headsail) snaps and the full 140% headsail bellows out and sets our boat onto a cause we did not plan on and had a real job to deal with, without being dismasted in the process as we have two cracked side stays! We find some awesome caves and one has this amazing open top like a giant sink hole! What an amazing experience! We swim with dolphins guys!! These dolphins turn up everyday, several times a day in this particular anchorages, so we took a chance dived in and the experience was fantastic! They were so friendly, so inquisitive and extremely beautiful, graceful creatures! We spent a lot of time here in the stunning underwater world of Northern Sardinia before sailing on, checking out some cool little anchorages and finding ourselves a cute little town to explore and find a doctor as we have a poorly crew member!
