My wife, daughter, and I flew down to Orlando, Florida to do something I've been wanting to do for a while, snorkeling with manatees. It was late in the season so the chances were a little slim since we only had two days to adventure. We visited a couple of different springs and eventually were able to find some in Crystal River (the manatee capital of the World!). This was a bucket list adventure, and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did. In this video, I'm taking you along for the whole thing! This project is to build a budget wooden motor boat in the Mexican jungle. Yeah, we had various problem in the beginning of this year, but now we are at full speed! We are now doing all stations and the bow before we can start with the ladder phase. This wooden motor boat is called Wooden Shoe. This is a unique project as we only using disponible wood from fallen trees. The original plans are for a 23 feet boat, but we have changed it to 25 feet and some extra cabin height. We make all frames and plywood. Before we could start with the boat build, we spent one year building a huge boathouse, 18 m long and 6 m wide and height.

🌊 Sailing Indonesia 🇮🇩 | Episode 1 – Entering Indonesia by Sailboat We finally did it… we made it to Indonesia. 🇮🇩 After days at sea, crossing into a completely new country, we had no idea what to expect. Entering Indonesia by sailboat isn’t as simple as dropping anchor — the check-in process is real, detailed, and something every cruiser talks about… but experiencing it for ourselves was something else entirely. From health checks and paperwork, to welcoming (and very thorough) officials stepping aboard Stella, this was our official introduction to Indonesia — and it’s safe to say, it left an impression. But once we cleared in… everything changed. We found ourselves exploring the island of Sabang by motorbike, weaving through jungle roads, quiet beaches, and getting our first taste of life here. This is the kind of place that feels untouched — raw, beautiful, and full of adventure. Back on the boat, it was time to settle into this new chapter. We jumped in the water, went for a dive, searched for fish (no luck this time 😅), and started preparing for what we came here for… Surf. This is something we’ve dreamed about for a long time — sailing through Indonesia, chasing waves, and exploring some of the most remote islands in the world. And this is just the beginning. In the next episode, we start sailing down the coast in search of our first proper waves in Indonesia… and trust us, things are about to get even better. Thanks so much for being here and supporting our journey — it honestly means the world to us. ❤️ ⛵ ABOUT US We’re Camille & Jesse, a couple who left behind the “normal” path to live full-time on our 39ft sailboat Stella. After working in the Australian mines, we saved everything we could to buy this boat — and taught ourselves how to sail along the way. LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT ⛵ Seawind 1160XL – Could this be the best Value in PERFORMANCE Catamarans?! In this episode we test sail the Seawind 1160XL over a two week period to test her out in as many wind conditions as possible and see how she REALLY PERFORMS in REAL life!!! We were truly amazed at what we found out - but we ask several important questions: 1. What is the definition of a "performance cat" 2. is the 1160XL falling into the "performance" category? 3. Is the 1160XL the best value high p;erforming cat on the market? We want to know what YOU ALL think on these contentious issues! This is a real-world review of performance — not showroom talk. In this episode, we break down what actually matters: ✔️ Upwind performance ✔️ Light air performance (3-6 knot winds tested) ✔️ Ease of sail handling ✔️ Ability to sail on foresails alone ✔️ Can she get to wind speed? ✔️ Overall Value for money ⸻ 🎥 What’s Next? This is just the beginning… In the next episodes, we go deep into live aboard ability, warranty and delivery options, more sailing and deep dive into the Koh Chang sailing area as an ideal area to cruise!. 👉 Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it! 👍 Our Verdict Two weeks of pure sailing bliss. This one cabinet will eventually power our entire catamaran. Last episode we installed our two Victron MultiPlus II units, officially kicking off the installation of our electrical system. Now we’re moving on to the cabinet where all of our breakers will live — the place that will ultimately distribute power to every major system on board. And there are a lot of them. Matt has spent years planning out this system, carefully considering not only what each breaker will power, but also where each one should be placed so the panel is logical and easy to use once we’re living aboard full time. In this episode we start laying out and installing the breakers that will eventually control everything from lighting and navigation electronics to pumps and onboard systems. It’s one more step toward bringing the electrical system to life. We also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who purchased wire from our Amazon wish list. Your support helps keep this project moving forward, and we’re incredibly grateful to have such an amazing community behind us as we build this boat. We’re already working on the next round of projects for the boat, and while they’re not quite ready to show yet, they’re well underway and will be coming in the next episode. Subscribe to follow along as we continue building our performance cruising catamaran from the ground up. The next stage of the build will involve running a lot of wire throughout the boat. #sailing #sailboat #pearson35 #sailboatsforsale #sailboattour $100K Spent on This 1974 Pearson 35 — Offered at $39,500 | FULL TOUR $100,000 was spent refitting this Pearson 35… and it’s listed for $39,500. We went to see if it actually lives up to the numbers. This week we’re in Warwick, Rhode Island, where my brother Tim and I step aboard a 1974 Pearson 35 that has undergone a truly remarkable transformation. Designed by Bill Shaw, the Pearson 35 was one of Pearson Yachts’ first true performance cruisers—and one of the longest production runs in the company’s history (1968–1982). But this one? This one is something else. Since 2022, $100,000 has been invested into a comprehensive refit focused on systems, reliability, and sailing performance. The result is a classic New England cruiser with modern systems throughout—and just a handful of cosmetic projects left for the next owner. A survey from 2023 is available for review. ⚠️ Full disclosure: We have a financial interest in this boat and we are representing the seller. You can email me directly at: tristramcoburn@ruddersandmoorings.com CHAPTERS: 00:00 Intro 00:14 Overview 01:43 A Brief History! 02:50 The Cockpit 07:07 Forward to the Bow! 10:57 Below Decks 11:27 The Galley 15:38 The Head 16:30 The V-Berth 19:28 The Beautiful Beta Diesel! 20:56 Keel, Rudder, and Topsides 24:12 Final Thoughts ⚓ Highlights of the Refit 🔧 Full Repower & Propulsion System Beta Marine 25HP diesel (ONLY 47 hours) Twin Disc transmission (2.60:1) MaxProp feathering prop New fuel tank & plumbing Upgraded charging system (120-amp alternator, Balmar regulator) ⚡ Completely New Electrical System (ABYC-Compliant) All new wiring throughout the boat Victron 2000W inverter/charger (Bluetooth) (2) Dakota Lithium 135Ah LiFePO4 house batteries New panels, breakers, selector switches Solar-ready system with Victron MPPT LED lighting throughout (deck + cabin) 🧭 Modern Helm, Autopilot & Navigation New Edson pedestal & Ritchie compass B&G electronics suite (chartplotter, radar, wind, depth, autopilot) Below-deck heavy-duty autopilot Multiple VHF radios + EPIRB ⛵ Rigging, Sails & Sail Handling (ALL NEW) New standing & running rigging Furlex headsail furler Garhauer traveler system North Sails main (full batten) & furling genoa ⚓ Deck Hardware & Ground Tackle Lewmar electric windlass w/ helm + remote Rocna 25 anchor w/ 200’ chain New lifelines, stanchions, cleats, padeyes Custom teak & stainless bow pulpit 🪵 Teak & Interior Comfort Upgrades New teak toe rail, coamings, and rub rails New cushions throughout Froli sleep system in berths New salon table (convertible) Airhead composting head (like new) 🧠 The Bottom Line This is not a project boat. It’s a boat where the expensive, time-consuming work is already done the systems are modern and reliable and what remains is largely cosmetic finishing For anyone looking to get into a classic bluewater-capable cruiser without taking on a full refit, this Pearson 35 represents a rare opportunity. 📍 Location Warwick, Rhode Island Thanks for watching and see you all next week! Real boats, real people, real fun! Sailboats for the Rest of Us! We showcase affordable, well-loved classics that won’t break the bank. We live full-time on a sailboat in Alaska, and every once in a while, we leave the boat in search of something new… This time, we had our dear friend Atz Kilcher aboard. After months of work in Port Protection, Alaska, we were excited to explore more of the Inside Passage in Southeast, Alaska, and finally go to the remote hot spring only accessible by boat or float plane. What we thought would be a simple soak turned into a full-on Alaska adventure....snow, rain, slippery trails, and more than a few moments where we questioned our decisions. And when we finally made it?
