► The career of the Lagoon 46’s successor seems to be getting off to the best possible start, with 40 units sold even before the official presentation of this new model… ► The career of the Lagoon 46’s successor seems to be getting off to the best possible start, with 40 units sold even before the official presentation of this new model… For the 47, presented as a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the designers have focused on the cockpit and forward door. Until now, the forward opening had been reserved for Lagoon Signature models (60 feet and above); the 47 suggests a new generation that will introduce this configuration on future models. While the forward door sparked considerable debate in 2010 with the launch of the Leopard 44, over the years it has become a standard feature - and today, an undeniable asset. With the 47, Lagoon goes even further, offering a complete 129 sq ft (12 m²) cockpit forward, reducing the traditional trampolines to the bare minimum. ► This new model therefore offers two XXL protected/shaded areas - the aft cockpit and the aft section of the flybridge - as well as a sunny area with this new XXL solid foredeck. Another new feature is that the port aft cabin can be accessed directly from the cockpit. The 47 is also available with optional twin 25 kW electric pods. ► Technical Specifications : Builder: Lagoon Architects: VPLP Design Exterior Design: Patrick le Quément Interior Design: Nauta Design Length Overall: 49'1" (14.95 m) Hull Length: 45'10" (13.96 m) Beam: 26'1" (7.96 m) Draft: 4'1" (1.25 m) Air Draft: 76'1" (23.2 m) Light Displacement: 18 t Upwind Sail Area: 1,378 sq ft (128 m²) Powertrain: 2 × 57 hp Yanmar or 2 × 25 kW electric Fuel: 227 US gal (860 l) Water: 185 US gal (700 l) Berths: 6 to 13 Versions: 3 to 5 cabins CE Category: A12/B14/C20/D30 Price: € 680,000 ex-tax for the standard three-cabin version ► www.catamarans-lagoon.com ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! The YOT 53 is the first inboard power catamaran from YOT, and it feels like a 60 footer. Brad Kauffman and Steve Varrow walk every inch of her at Cannes. The YOT 53 carries over the ideas that worked on the Bali range: the tilting aft door that opens the salon to the cockpit, the full-size galley fridge, and the midline bulkhead moved aft so the interior runs uninterrupted from stern to bow. Then it adds a flybridge covering nearly 70% of the boat, twin Yanmar shaft drives, and joystick docking that spins her 360 degrees in her own length. What you'll see in this walkthrough: the forward U-shaped galley that takes up a third of the interior, with electric cooking and a 32-bottle wine fridge. The full-beam owner's suite with 6'6" of headroom, a dry head separate from the shower, and direct access to a private bow terrace. Guest and VIP cabins where every shower is full size, which is not how 53-foot power cats are usually laid out. The flybridge with its own cooktop, ice maker and refrigerator, seating up to twelve. Pop-up capstan winches that drop flush into the deck. A hydraulic swim platform that also gets guests with mobility issues into the water, and a 500 kg crane for tenders over 12 foot. Up to 5,000 watts of Solbian solar, cut from a digital print of the boat. Both helms, with every control mirrored. And Django from YOT on why Yanmar, what she cruises at, and why there's almost no hull slap. Don't skip the 48-volt section at 17:24. Order the full lithium package with solar and the air conditioning runs all night off the batteries. Generators are good for 20,000 to 30,000 hours, so on a charter boat that's the difference between replacing one inside four years or not. 'Flat Chat' is a 2010 Bavaria 38 Cruiser, listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/bavaria-38-cruiser-flat-chat-1 A genuine one-owner boat from new, Flat Chat has been berthed locally on Pittwater since day one and has enjoyed a mix of family cruising, weekending and casual club racing. She presents in impressive condition and has been intelligently updated and well maintained, making her an excellent all-rounder. This is the desirable two-cabin layout, providing a spacious forward master cabin with a semi-island berth, while also allowing for the additional large cockpit storage locker - a particularly practical feature for cruising and family use. The cockpit boasts the drop-down boarding / swim platform plus custom corner seats. She is powered by a Volvo Penta 40hp diesel, with approximately 1,350 hours. The engine has been regularly serviced and is complemented by a three-blade folding propeller. There is a solar panel neatly mounted on the bimini and the house batteries are Lithium. Flat Chat is well specified for both cruising and racing. The winch package has been upgraded to six winches, including two electric winches. There are two furling genoas - a racing sail and a robust Dacron cruising sail, with the Dacron headsail in crisp condition. The boat benefits from very good covers throughout, including a dodger, bimini and large cockpit awning extending aft from the bimini. An internal diesel heater provides welcome comfort during the cooler months. There is a solid safety package. With an experienced couple owning her since new, local Pittwater history and an impressive level of equipment and upkeep, Flat Chat represents a rare opportunity to secure a well-presented Bavaria 38 Cruiser from this highly regarded generation of the German builder. Contact Peter Mactier for further details and to arrange an inspection at her Pittwater marina berth. info@yoti.com.au (02) 9960 6222 Disclaimer: All information contained herein has been provided by the Vendor, or sources YOTI consider reliable. Welcome to the Sailing and Cruising the East Coast of USA Podcast. In this episode, hosts Bela Musits and Mike Wasserman sit down with retired Marine and veteran sailor Ray McFall. Ray shares his extensive journey from learning to sail in San Diego to purchasing his Hunter 456 and navigating the technical waters of the New England coast. We dive deep into a topic every sailor eventually faces: the choice between the romance of bluewater offshore passages and the engagement of coastal cruising. Ray discusses his initial plans for the Marion to Bermuda Race, the rigorous safety preparations required—including installing a removable inner forestay and completing a Safety at Sea course—and why he eventually decided that coastal adventures were a better fit for his current sailing goals. In This Episode, We Discuss: Preparation for Offshore Racing: Ray details the modifications and safety gear needed for a Bermuda run, including the importance of local knowledge and expert advice. The Reality of Bluewater Sailing: A first-hand account of a return delivery from Bermuda and why the "monotony" of the open ocean led Ray back to the variety of the East Coast. The Block Island Incident: A cautionary tale about a sailing emergency involving a jammed jib furler in 30-knot gusts and the critical lessons learned about life jacket safety and reefing early. Coastal Gems: Tips for cruising Narragansett Bay, Newport, and the Fisher Island Sound, plus the advantages of using apps like Dockwa, PredictWind, and Navionics. Whether you are dreaming of the ICW, planning a trip to Maine, or curious about AIS integration and radar on sailboats, Ray’s story offers a balanced look at risk, reward, and the spiritual nature of being on the water. Leaving home waters behind for ocean passages, Caribbean anchorages and the unexpected. What happens when years of sailing the Solent turn into something much bigger? In this episode, Alan McIlroy sits down aboard ARKYLA with her owner, James Kenning, to look back at the adventures, challenges and thousands of miles that have taken this Swedish-built Regina 43 from familiar UK waters to the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic and into the Caribbean. James bought ARKYLA through Berthon in 2018. After a season sailing locally and preparing both yacht and skipper for longer passages, the plan began to grow. What followed was several years of cruising, refits, upgrades and offshore sailing that would take ARKYLA across Biscay, down the Iberian coast, into the Mediterranean and Balearics, through the waters now infamous for orca interactions, and eventually across the Atlantic with the 2024 ARC+ from the Canaries to Grenada via Cape Verde.   The Atlantic crossing would prove considerably more eventful than expected. Despite meticulous preparation, ARKYLA suffered a succession of problems at sea. A nearly new hydrogenerator failed, her Parasailor was destroyed, sargassum caused further difficulties and, most seriously, a suspected whale impact resulted in damage to the rudder and hull. James discusses managing those problems offshore and the importance of preparation, practical engineering knowledge and understanding the systems aboard your own yacht.  As James puts it, “Mid-Atlantic is no place to be unprepared.”  After arriving in Grenada, the problems weren't quite over. ARKYLA required two emergency haul-outs in December 2024 before undergoing significant hull repairs in early 2025. Yet the setbacks didn't end the adventure, and James was still able to explore the Windward Islands, including Grenada, Carriacou, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Lucia and Martinique.  But this isn't simply a story about things going wrong at sea. James and Alan also discuss why the Regina 43 has worked so well as a bluewater cruising yacht, the modifications made during James's ownership, sailing as a couple, choosing and preparing a yacht for serious offshore cruising, and some of the lessons accumulated along the way. Photography has also become an important part of James's life aboard ARKYLA. His sailing photography and writing have received numerous awards, including Cruising Association Photo of the Year and Hanson Trophy honours, World Cruising Club ARC+ Best Photo Blog awards, and recognition from the International Cruisers Awards. ARKYLA herself even appeared on the cover of the 2025 Cruising Association Handbook.  From quiet anchorages and spectacular ocean skies to equipment failures, orca encounters, emergency repairs and the reality of crossing an ocean in your own yacht, this is an honest conversation about taking sailing beyond home waters. And, with ARKYLA now back with Berthon and offered for sale, it's also the closing chapter of one adventure, and perhaps the beginning of another.

⛵ Topaz Magno | 3,94 m | 7 Beaufort | Ostsee #Shorts #Segeln #TopazMagno #Kenterung #Kentern #Jollensegeln #Ostsee #7Beaufort #KielSchilksee #KielerFörde #KielerBucht #Gleitjolle #Sailing #DinghySailing

We thought we had fixed the leaks. The Bay of Biscay had other plans. 😅🌊 Day 3 of the Golden Globe Race, and it has definitely not been kind to me. Big waves, a very wet Showgirl, and unfortunately those leaks are becoming VERY noticeable. I really thought we had figured them all out before the start. Apparently not. 😂 This is probably the first reminder that no matter how much you prepare a boat, the ocean is always going to find something you missed. For now, I’m dealing with what’s in front of me, keeping Showgirl moving and hoping the weather gives us a little break soon. Only day 3. Around the world is still a very long way to go. This video documents the somber hours after a severe storm hit our bay in Dakar. A poorly anchored work barge drifted through the anchorage, causing serious damage to boats that were otherwise securely moored. From Stan’s crushed dinghy to the sunken pirogues being pulled from the depths, we look at the harsh reality of boat ownership in these waters. But amidst the wreckage, we celebrate the locals who hold this community together, like Arona, who knows the sandy bottom better than anyone. Despite the destruction and the pollution, this is also about "Terranga"—the welcoming spirit of Senegal that keeps us here.

Straight from Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 🛥️... The brand NEW Williams TurboJet MX320! 🎉 Joining James is Darren, our Williams Manager, here to tell us a couple of key features of the new Williams - including the price, which has James in shock! 🤯 The MX320 is serious fun - with the same engine as the Turbojet 325 - but 80Kg lighter. This lightness means it will fit on more boats - but it still room for 4 adults plus a child. The price does have one negative - it is so cheap, we cannot offer a discount or a part-exchange. We're at the Cannes Yachting Festival all event long, until the 13th of September, so come on down and see this amazing boat for yourself! 👋 🔔 Like & Subscribe for more exclusive factory tours and boat reviews! Mary’s phone, and only Mary’s phone keeps sliding off the shelf onto her as she sleeps. It is so bizarre. We appear to have a ghost on W. Grebe. 🤷‍♂️

After days of nonstop rain, we finally get some sunshine and make the most of it! 🌴☀️ In this episode, we start with a few cosmetic boat jobs we’ve been putting off while waiting for the weather to improve. Then we set sail through Bocas del Toro, Panama, heading to Dolphin Bay Yacht Club to check out one of the popular cruising spots on the islands and meet some of the people who call this beautiful part of Panama home. From there, we sail to Starfish Beach on Isla Colón, where the weather finally turns picture perfect. We spend a few days enjoying the tropical paradise — exploring Starfish Beach, paddle boarding through the crystal-clear water, walking the beach trails, eating some seriously good food, getting out for some skurfing, and even letting our cats have their own little beach adventure! 🐈🌴 This is exactly the kind of island life we dreamed about when we started sailing — warm water, beautiful beaches, good food and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy where we are. 📍 Bocas del Toro, Panama ⛵ Isla Colón | Dolphin Bay | Starfish Beach ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⛵ Join us aboard our 40ft sailboat, Escapade, as we navigate the highs and lows of full-time sailing, boat life, and the adventures that come with exploring the world by sea. 🔥 If you're enjoying the videos, you can Hype this episode on YouTube to help support the channel and share our adventures with more people. 🎥 Watch from the beginning: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcpg_1nM2Z5zzbEr20cfs0K1W3FAV46DJ 🫶🏽 Patreon (early access / ad-free): https://www.patreon.com/Leadingtheescapade ☕ One-off support: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/leadingtheescapade
