He finds it easy to transport in his pickup truck, appreciating its compact and portable design. Although he initially needed assistance launching the dinghy through the surf, Bill can now handle it independently. He was impressed by the Tiwal's ability to tack into the wind and its durability during capsize exercises. For the last 2 years, Franco and Manuel have been sailing on some of the world’s most unusual waters (Lake Titicaca, Loch Ness etc) in order to raise awareness of global warming and highlight the association Ocean Foundation who campaigns for the protection of the world’s oceans. The name of this initiative: The Grand Tour Sailing. On June 10th, they arrived in the spectacular Disko Bay, 350km for the Arctic Circle. The outside temperature was around 5°C with the water temperature at a brisk 2°C. The wind was quite light but the currents were strong. To immortalize this unique moment they indulged in some nautical jousting between the icebergs in the company of the Italian skipper Elisabetta Maffei. The next step for TGT ? Venice !

☀️ The Tiwal Cup returned on 18th May 2024. This year's regatta was extra special for the small sailboat as it was the Cup's 10th edition! 78 sailors on board 51 Tiwals came together from the four corners of France and the rest of the world: Germany, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Switzerland and the USA. While we would all have preferred a bit more wind that day, at least it proved a great opportunity to take in and appreciate the sights of the Gulf of Morbihan (France) in the sun. For its 10th anniversary, the Tiwal Cup may not have offered a wild ride - but certainly was a joy-filled meeting of like-minded sailors. This year's winners are: 🏆 Tiwal 3 solo: Luc Dieulot 🏆 Tiwal 3R solo: Hervé Darier 🏆 Tiwal 3 double: Marie Labro and Olivier Dang 🏆 Tiwal 2 double: Julia Schaefer and Richard Babbé Speed-assembly competition: It only takes about 20 minutes for a single person to assemble the Tiwal 3 small sailboat.
