Calypso sets the benchmark in IRC Class at the Royal Malta Yacht Club Spring Regatta, with Sebastian Ripard’s team delivering a strong and consistent performance to lead the fleet. Across a competitive weekend of racing, crews were tested by varied conditions, but Calypso’s pace and precision proved decisive as the regatta unfolded. The first edition of the EurILCA Masters Series for 2026 was hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club and once again attracted a strong and diverse international fleet, combining returning competitors with first-time entrants and a high level of experience, including recently elected ILCA President Mark Lyttle. This blend of elite sailors and committed amateurs remains a defining feature of the series, enhancing both the quality of racing and the strong sense of community that surrounds it.

The Paymix Pro Ragusa attracted a strong and balanced mix of racers and cruisers, all eager to take part in the first offshore race of the year hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club. Jonathan Gambin's Ton Ton Laferla Insurance was the overall winner of the offshore weekend regatta.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club’s Tommy Hilfiger Figure of 8 Race served up a tactical test for sailors on Saturday 12th April , with both fully crewed and short-handed teams lining up for the coastal challenge. This year’s edition took competitors on a southbound route around the Maltese Islands, with conditions demanding resilience and precision sailing.

This year marks Malta’s fourth time hosting this prestigious event, made possible through the dedicated efforts of key RMYC partners SailCoach’s Trevor Millar and Alex Denisiuc. Hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club with the support of Yachting Malta. The 2025 EurILCA Master Series in Malta featured 30 sailors from 14 countries.

The final competitive race of the 2024 Royal Malta Yacht Club season, the Medcomms Round Malta, lived up to its reputation as a thrilling and challenging event. Held annually on Republic Day, the race delivered a mix of rough seas, strong winds, and adrenaline-pumping action for all participants.

RMYC Round Comino Race comes down to the wire with joint win for Elusive 2, Calypso The stage was set for an exhilarating finish on Saturday afternoon as the Podesta’s Elusive 2 and Sebastian Ripard’s Calypso went head-to-head in the Royal Malta Yacht Club’s penultimate race of the year. The competition featured a strong fleet battling it out in near-perfect sailing conditions.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club hosted the opening event of the EurILCA Masters Series for 2024, which saw the fleet in race in ever changing weather conditions - from rain showers to bright sun, to swells and moderate breeze.

Ho Ho Ho! That was a fun morning on the water in aid of charity. Not much excitement when it came to sailing conditions but the wonderful cheery Christmas vibe that came with it was simply perfect. A massive thanks to all those who took part and donated towards the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation!

Capturing some of the action and emotions at the 2023 Zhik Double Handed Figure of 8 Race which was won by Team Elusive 2, skippered by Aaron and Christoph Podesta Thank you to RLR Yachting for their support.

Organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club and held between the 10th and 12th November 2023, the race featured a fleet of 24 boats racing from Marsamxett Harbour to Mgarr Harbour on Friday, followed by a series of round-the-cans races in the Gozo-Comino Channel on Saturday and finishing off with a race back to Malta on Sunday.

Three new ORC European Champions in each class sailed well all week, but but their overall victories were not guaranteed when they left the dock on Monday morning, on the last day of racing in Malta
