My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? A short video (7 min) from aboard the S/V Excelsior of the OPCYC "Tri-Services Race" that took place Sept. 9th, 2017. This was my first time crewing with Steve and his friends on Excelsior. I also was not really prepared to video the action prperly. My son Seb joins me for the next leg of my journey.We would Canary island hop. After some final work to my anchor bowsprit, we would leave Lanzarote island for good and head to La Graciosa. I didn't know how my son would deal with the first journey. But he was set to go to La Graciosa which is 9 hour sail upwind. It was a great sail for me, and gut wrenching day for Seb. We never do things the easy way...! The time has come to get our Viking RescYou liferaft serviced. It's about a year overdue (don't worry, it's still safe) and because we're soon to be embarking on another sailing season, we need to get this thing serviced and ready to go. Of course, being us, we decide to get the extremely heavy liferaft off the transom on the one day we have bad weather: the boat was bucking up and down, we had a pillar to negotiate around, and there was just the two of us. Enter our hero, the lovely marina staff here at St John Yacht Harbour, who helped us manhandle the liferaft onto the pontoon. It honestly would have ended up in the water had he not rushed to our rescue. We take it to the local service centre, where the very kind staff unpack it, inflate it, and show us the contents of the emergency bag inside. We sincerely hope this is the one and only time we see the contents of our liferaft!
