A short video (7 min) from aboard the S/V Excelsior of the OPCYC "Tri-Services Race" that took place Sept. 9th, 2017. This was my first time crewing with Steve and his friends on Excelsior. I also was not really prepared to video the action prperly. I had my GoPro on the floating hande so everything is handheld and as such I had stop videoing whenever acted as mmore than just rail meat. =] "Weather is what you get, Sailing is what you DO with it." I subtitled this, "The Wrong Way Round..." as choosing the starboard run to the Middle Grounds Light first turned out to be the faster course this season.... Apologies in advance, I missed capturing the Asymmetrical spinnaker begin raised and I missed rounding the Middle Grounds Light... I was just a little too busy sailing to remember to turn on the $*%@&!! GoPro... Sheesh. "Weather is what you get, Sailing is what you DO with it." A wonderful sail was had by all who took part. This is just a few minutes of the 1st leg of the OPCYC "Round the Lights Race" that took place Oct 14th, 2017. The Skipper and crew of the S/V Excelsior chose to make the initial turn to port on an East by Northeast course, set on a close reach into 2' to 3' seas, towards the Thimble Shoals Lighthouse. I subtitled this, "The Wrong Way Round..." as choosing the initial starboard run to the Middle Grounds Light turned out to be the faster course this season....
