**NOW SOLD** https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/moody-s38-wistarie Wistarie is a Moody S38 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI. This is a single owner yacht launched in 1996 and is now offered for sale for the first time by her experienced owners. Wistarie represents a rare find on the Australian brokerage market due to her history, condition and pedigree. Designed by Bill Dixon and built by the hugely respected Marine Projects Plymouth, this is the only aft cockpit Moody 38 in the country. The ‘S’ model gives a taller fractional rig and deeper keel than her centre cockpit sisters – make no mistake, this is a swift cruiser designed to cruise and race in serious comfort with impressive performance. Wistarie is the two cabin owner’s version which provides a good sized forward cabin (which would normally be big enough for an owner’s cabin) plus a seriously big double aft cabin with private access to the larger of the two heads on board. The internal woodwork is stunning and the layout is spacious and practical. A proper ‘U’ shaped sea-going galley sits to starboard and features modern facilities – double sinks, good sized refrigeration and ample storage. The nav station and switch board to port would satisfy the most experienced navigators. The saloon seating offers two single berths and a sturdy, central dining table with folding leaves. Working sails include #1, furling #2, #3, #4 and storm jib. There are two kites, a cruise laminate mainsail by Hoods plus a trysail which can be hoisted on a separate track. Electronics include auto-pilot, instrument displays at the helm and on the coachroof, and both VHF and HF radios. House batteries have just been replaced and the safety inventory is solid. Standing rigging has been replaced new in just 2018. There are removable stainless steel dinghy davits plus solar panels and the cockpit is well protected via the bimini, dodger and infill system. Wistarie has been set up and used for exactly what her designer planned – quick family cruising and competitive racing. Contact Peter Mactier at YOTI for further details and to arrange inspection on Pittwater. info@yoti.com.au (02) 9960 6222

This video shows what it's like at the spring in Blue Spring State Park, which is just north of Orlando, Florida. This is one of Florida's best fresh water springs and we enjoyed seeing all the Alligator gar. It's a common snorkeling location that get's lots of tourist since it's close to Orlando. In the winter there are often Manatees here! We went over the summer and weren't able to find any. There are often freedivers here due to the fairly deep cave shown in the video.

Humpback Whales And a Happy Anniversary. In this episode , not only do we swim with humpback whales but Darren our drone captures some amazing footage of a mum and new- born baby whale swimming along the reef. We celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and spend some more time under the sea, scuba diving and snorkelling. We hang out with new friends and are reunited with old ones. Another sea snake visits the boat , but happily doesn’t get too far onboard, and finally, it is time to pull up our anchor and head north for Vava’u. We are Jo and Rob, a slightly crazy husband and wife team, who decided on a whim to sell up and set sail . Ooo this has been a long time coming… We make it to SALTWATER! After leaving the freshwater of Lake Michigan and traveling 1300 miles down the rivers (Mississippi and all the rest!), we’ve made it to the Gulf of Mexico! Finally it’s time to turn our motorboat back into a SAILBOAT. Before leaving Chicago, we unstepped our mast and shipped it south via truck to Turner Marine in Mobile, Alabama. Our mast arrived way before we did, and was waiting for us at the boatyard. We were very happy to discover it it survived its own journey without as much as a scratch. Hope you enjoy, Lauren & Kirk P.S. For anyone who's is interested or cares about video editing software... We migrated from Adobe Premiere to Final Cut Pro on this episode. In short, that meant that this episode took a bit longer than exepected to produce since we were learning on the fly. There are also few things that are a little rougher than we'd hoped, but we're already feeling and seeing the benefits of the switch. FCP is optimized to run efficiently on our laptops, while Adobe products absolutely burn through the batteries. While using our solar panels and living 100% off-grid for the past month, we quickly realized we couldn't keep operating this way. Now that we've got the first episode down, FCP is already feeling much more familiar. We'll be able to edit more quickly and efficiently, because we've put an end to the unsustainable cycle of charging the computer for multiple hours to get an hour of editing in before having to start the charging cycle all over again. Whereas before we couldn't edit video on the computer and charge it at the same time, and it would only last for a maximum of 1.5 hours while editing, now that we've switched to FCP we can charge and edit at the same time, and it lasts about 3+ hours. What begins as a simple swap-out of our 24 volt alternator morphs into an in-depth discussion of sailboat batteries and charging systems. This overview describes the details of shore power, battery chargers, alternators, generators, AC vs. DC power, electrical phasing, US vs European power, battery charge controllers, and how solar, wind, and hydro charging integrate into the charging system. There's also some talk of lead-acid, gel, AGM, and Lithium Ion batteries.

I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

But before we go, we thought we would take a last look at one of the best sailing destinations in the world, a place we fell in love with... Too close for comfort What's wrong with our boat 55 Beau and Brandy Sailing In this episode we are getting ready to set sail out of Hatchet Bay. We motored in but it we had great wind to sail through, even though this is one of the smallest cuts we have been through. What we didn't know was something was wrong with the boat. Brandy tried steering around rocks that we were headed for, but we kept getting pushed toward them, even after turning on the engine. We made it through, but it was WAY TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT! This was a head scratching sail. We couldn't balance the sails, we were all the way starboard on steering most of the time. We changed out our sail configuration multiple times. We finally after extra hours and extra patience made it into Rock Sound. The next day Beau went to investigate what the problem was..what do you think it was? big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona Want more? behind the scenes, Captain's Logs and private chats, join our patreon family: https://www.patreon.com/beauandbrandy facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy music: Any Given Place - Of Water Chow Mein - Seamus McNamara Security Breach 1 - Rannar Sillard Love For The Ocean - Martin Hall

I know many of you have been very curious about our swap from a manual to a composting head, and I wanted to share with you the install process in detail. The ventilation system turned out to be the trickiest part (mainly because we wanted to utilize old, obsolete systems to hide as much of it as we could for aesthetic results). But, other than removing the … smelly items, this was really a rather simple install, one I was able to handle primarily on my own while Phillip was tackling the rudder post reinforcement and other projects, and one we are very pleased with. Phillip and I have been weekend cruising for about six months now using the composting head and have found it to be a wonderful new addition to our life goal of keeping things simple. There is no more pumping after each flush, no more pumping-out at the dock, no more head smell in our boat, no more sloshing (could bust a seam any day) turd tank, and we’ve opened up plenty of new, now much more freshly-smelling lockers for storage. Oh, and we closed a thru-hull (the one for the macerator). So, we are down to only four thru-hulls now on our boat and thrilled about it. I told you our motto: K.I.S.S. If any of you are considering changing your manual head on the boat to a composting head, Phillip and I highly recommend it. I can tell you this: We haven’t heard of a single sailor going from composting BACK TO a manual head. That should tell you something. As mentioned in the video, here is the link to the detailed blog post I put together laying out all of our research and reasons for swapping to a composting head: https://havewindwilltravel.com/2018/09/15/shipyard-project-no-6-swap-to-a-composting-airhead/. This includes the pros and cons we found and the rationale behind our decision to go with an Airhead (https://airheadtoilet.com/), versus the Nature’s Head or C-head. So, feel free to peruse that helpful source before you watch the install if you would like to know more about our decision. Then dive into this fun shipyard project video! It is our last from our time at the yard with Brandon and his hard-working crew at www.perdidosailor.com back in 2018. While Phillip and I have not yet cruised for months at a time, living on the boat and using the Airhead, we have been using it for extended weekend cruising for more than six months now, and we are very pleased with the Airhead. We were also super pumped about the many other perks of removing the old manual head: all the new (clean, fresh, non-stinky) storage it opened up, closing one of our thru-hulls (to get us now down to only four thru-hulls, just four - whoo hoo!) and no more trips to the dock just to pump out, in fact no more pumping out again ... ever! What a fantastic lifestyle upgrade. If you have any questions about our composting head, feel free to shoot them our way via HaveWindWillTravel. Enjoy the show! As promised: a link to the Squatty Potty unicorn commercial (hilarious): https://youtu.be/YbYWhdLO43Q And, a link to buy the Coco Bliss coco pith bricks for the composting head (which is roughly $4/brick and each brick lasts 3-4 weeks, we’re told, for live aboard cruisers): https://www.amazon.com/Plantonix-Coco-Listed-Organic-Bricks/dp/B06ZZXZQWW/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=coco%2Bbliss%2B1.4%2Blbs&qid=1553795794&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmr0&th=1.

Are you ready to change your life? https://www.bluewatercruisingplan.com/ This is the first time we've experienced such rough conditions on the catamaran; thirty-five knot winds and freak waves knock our boat all around and we have to completely deviate from our original plan due to all this bad weather. Though originally heading to Panama nonstop, we end up island hopping through the Bahamas instead for several days and Keith goes up the mast twice: once to change mast light and once to install our WiFi antenna. —GRAB SOME MERCH or BOAT GEAR: https://sailingzatara.com/shop —WHAT CAMERAS DO WE USE? Check out Sailing Soulianis: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRqsOR0Y2zru-jXSzLcMcxg For this video we went out with the goal to catch dinner for that night. We motored out to Delta Shoal and spearfished all day. We ended up catching two good size grey snapper and a couple grunts. We're still very new to spearfishing, so this was a win for us. We hope to practice as much as possible and get better so that when we're cruising outside of the country we can catch our own food most of the time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines Amazon Wish List: http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/2FFJ6SE8DI80V ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's.

After completing our crossing of the Cyclades we enter the Ionian, where life slows down. We enjoy some light wind sailing and find a beautiful anchorage in Ithaca called Skhoinos. We take in the beauty before searching for the best beaches on Ithaca. We stumble across a beautiful deserted beach, which has crystal clear water, it’s our type of beach. Unfortunately the beach bar is closed, but it allows for only the sound of the waves lapping the sand, perfection. We continue our hike through the mountains and see more perfect coves around the island. We hike towards Vathy, the capital of Ithaca, which was destroyed by an Earthquake in 1953. It’s rebuilt houses are colorful, charming and still in the traditional style. We explore Ithaca for 1 week and love our time, it’s definitely worth visiting with many beautiful bays to anchor in. The Ionian has so much to see and do, so we organised Kawai and set sail for Meganisi. With 7-10 knots of wind we sailed slowly up the coast, stopping in along the way for Jase to check out the second largest Sea cave in Greece ‘Papa Nicolis’. With rumors that it hid a Greek mini submarine during the Second World War he wanted to take a closer look. Meganisi has many anchorages at the Northern end of the Island. We tied off to the shore in Abelaki bay as it was close to Vathy. We needed to buy provisions and Vathy had 3 small supermarkets that had enough fruit and vegetables to top up the fridge. We were also lucky that the owner of Palmos supermarket delivered to Kawai all our supplies and even allowed us to fill our water containers at his store. We still had time to explore the surrounding towns of Katomeri and Spartakhori where we met some of the friendliest and most welcoming people on our entire trip through Greece. Follow our Journey Please subscribe if you want to see more sailing videos, and if you liked the video please give it a thumbs up as this helps us. If you have a question please ask, we will always get back to you :) About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure.
