This 124' Broward Motor Yacht, DREAM, represents the newest, customized Broward MY currently available. Her custom interior was designed by Evan Marshall to include her joinery done by Genesis of Viareggio Italy. In 2017, she received new furnishings and carpeting, custom window treatments, overhead panels and soft goods, by Architectural Interiors. She accommodates (10) owner's and guests in a (5) stateroom layout with an on-deck Master, King VIP, (2) Queens and a twin stateroom along with (6) crew below. Her main deck features a large main salon and dining area, gourmet galley and large aft deck with dining for (10). In addition, all audio/visual equipment was upgraded with new HD TV's, Sonos audio system throughout vessel in 2018. Her spacious flybridge features a new custom Pipewelders hardtop, new Jacuzzi and granite surfaces throughout the flybridge in 2017 along with wet bar and BBQ grill. Sailing DOWNWIND to Bay of Islands NZ Downwind Sailing, Northward Bound ( and dolphins !) After two months out of the water, doing jobs on the on the hardstand, we are really excited to be back on the water again! With wonderful weather, we take advantage of the anchorages around Whangarei to have some time to enjoy floating life. We hoist our Parasailor and have a fabulous downwind sail to the Bay of Islands accompanied by some very excited dolphins, showing off their surfing skills, as we approach the Hole in the Rock and Cape Brett. We round off the trip by anchoring in Paradise bay, one of our favourite bays in the the Bay of Islands. We anchored a mile from the smouldering remains of Anak Krakatoa. And one of us walked across the black sand to the lava flow of the recently decimated volcano. In December 2018 Anak Krakatau, after erupting for months, boomed out one last explosion before crashing beneath the waves. The resulting tsunami destroyed much of the coast of Java, killing over 1000 people. When we arrived a few months later, the caldera (now at sea-level) was still bubbling and smoking, spewing out pumice, lava and chemicals into the sea. Krakatoa, aka "Krakatau": 1. Krakatoa erupted in 1883 with the explosive force of 200 megatons of TNT. (nearly ten thousand times bigger than the bomb which devastated Hiroshima). 2. Shockwaves went round the planet 7 times, and it was heard as far away as Perth, Australia. 3. A cloud of gas and debris shot 15 miles into the air, blanking out the sun for three days. 4. A devastating tsunami, 120 feet high, destroyed neighbouring islands and coasts. 5. In 1927 Krakatoa woke up. A new cone appeared above sea level, grew into a small island, and was named Anak Krakatoa, or "Child of Krakatoa". It's not over yet. Don't forget to follow the boat! Sailing to the nearby islands of Kekova is always fun. With three boats we anchored in a lovely bay. But then I was running out of cigarettes and we had to go the next village - and ended up at a barber, which turned out to be a massive waxing massacre. On the next day I recovered by scrubbing the hull of Dilly-Dally. Actually quiet exhausting, especially when you are a bad diver.

This week on Kawai we are happy to share our sailing lifestyle with Trace's brother, also named Jase, who has come to visit us from Australia. We collect him from Split in Croatia and after a night out celebrating his arrival and a storm the following day, we head for the Blue Lagoon. We had heard so much about Blue Lagoon and needed to check it out. Jase took the drone up and filmed Kawai under full sail which we really appreciated. Blue lagoon lived up to expectations, the water was very clear and much like a swimming pool. It was quite busy and getting busier, due to this and some stronger winds predicted combined with a sketchy anchorage, we decided to move on to a better anchorage for the night. We chose Vinisce Bay close by which was a great place to anchor. We moved quickly down the Croatian Coast visiting many different anchorages including Uvala Donja and Ulava Necuiam on Solta Island and Uvala Smrka and Zlatni Rat on Brac Island. Zlatni Rat is a favourite of ours and we enjoyed the night anchored as we always planned to bring Kawai back here. The weather was perfect with crystal clear water and an incredible sunset, everything we had hoped for while in Bol. With so much to see we left early and set sail to Jelsa on the Island of Hvar. We had booked for wine and olive oil tasting at Dubokovic winery and it was fantastic, i would definitely recommend this if in Jelsa. We also visited Hvar Town on Hvar Island and the Pakleni Islands, which are beautiful and very popular, especially for those looking to party. After sailing to our last stop on Jase's trip, Mljet, we enjoyed a unique dinner where we were picked up in the restaurant's RIB and enjoyed a beautiful traditional meal of fish peka. After saying sad goodbyes to Jase we made the most of the Zaton Bay anchorage we were in, enjoying day trips to Dubrovnik and visiting Ston. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. We still did some boat work but for our wedding we we're gifted a 2 night "mini moon" stay at the beautiful Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, CA. Who doesn't like a little free "stay-cation?" Well, not free. The giant suite was amazing! The food, the views, everything was absolutely top notch. But, things got real expensive when every meal was over $100 and every round of drinks was over $35. It may not sound like a lot to some but right now we're boat rich and money poor. Instead of lounging around Sunday or even extending our stay for the long holiday weekend, we dipped out early and went back to work on white shark..... Still just cleaning! We've been looking over every inch and taking notes of what we think needs attention. We did find some termite action but it's over the galley and we plan on replacing the entire section because it all seems rotten. We're treating the entire boat topographically and hitting every hole with 2 different termite treatments. It seems like the holes are limited to the galley ceiling though. In this video, we sail to the Isthmus Cove at Two Harbors, Catalina Island. Due to poor planning and not getting a mooring reservation on Labor Day Weekend, we wind up having to anchor in 90 feet. After a rocky night and anchor we pick up and head to Hen Rock where we secured a mooring for the night. After a bit of snorkeling at Hen Rock, we give our Force 10 propane oven the ultimate test. The first mate cooks her first batch of chocolate chip cookies and they turn out perfectly. We motor sail in light winds back to Dana Point--an uneventual return with a little fog while transiting the shipping lanes.

I go over our Skipper 20’s trailer. Note: The top of the bottom horizontal supports drop 4-1/2” at the center of the rollers from the top of the trailers main frame. Our plans to stay in Southport NC through the end of September were cut short by Hurricane Dorian. So, with time only for minimal preparations, we left Southport and traveled south - yes south to return to our home port at Bohicket Marina. Why? It was a better hurricane hole - better protection. So, after a long 28 hour overnight sail, we immediately started to prepare PILAR to withstand Dorian's 150 mph winds in case the eye would decide to come our way. See what we did in this video.
