This episode takes us from Carbost to Ardmore Bay, enjoying a beautiful sail until our VHF suddenly stops working. With safety in mind, we run tests to track down the fault before heading off again. The next day we enjoy a sunny, perfect sail north to the Isle of Harris, dropping anchor in a quiet bay all to ourselves. With the weather warm enough for a swim, Matt even dives down to collect fresh scallops for dinner the best kind of reward after a day on the water! But sailing life always brings surprises… the following morning our windlass finally gives up completely, leaving Matt to haul up the anchor chain by hand, injuring his hand in the process. We manage to motor round the corner to the Isle of Harris Marina, a beautiful, community-run marina with everything right on the doorstep. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and we even treated ourselves at the local deli. Matt takes apart the windlass, finds the culprit, and (thankfully!) manages to get it fixed. A real mix of sailing joys, challenges, and good food — just another week aboard Constantia. ⛵ Highlights: Beautiful sail Carbost → Ardmore Bay Troubleshooting a VHF failure Sunny sail to Harris & wild swimming Foraging scallops for dinner Windlass breakdown & hand-hauling chain Exploring Isle of Harris Marina & local deli Windlass repair success! Thanks for watching guys, we hope you enjoyed the video!

This episode has it all — from hurricane-force winds to perfect sailing days. We start by leaving our anchorage at Loch na Droma Buidhe when the wind shifts, putting us on a lee shore. Then it’s all hands on deck as we prepare for Storm Floris, which batters Scotland with hurricane-strength gusts. We ride it out safely in Tobermory, sharing what it was like and how we managed. Once the storm clears, we set sail for the Isle of Rum, enjoying one of those dream passages with just the right amount of wind. Onshore, we wander through the island’s ancient woodland with Lancer — a magical walk. After two days on Rum, it’s time to move on, so we point the bow towards Carbost on Skye, where Matthew finally gets his hands on a bottle of Talisker whisky straight from the source. ⛵ Highlights: Leaving a lee shore in shifting winds Preparing for Storm Floris (hurricane-force winds in Scotland!) Weathering the storm in Tobermory A stunning sail to Rum Walking with Lancer in ancient woodland Sailing to Carbost for Talisker whisky A real mix of sailing challenges, storm prep, and pure joy on the water.

Just when we thought our outboard woes were behind us… it breaks again in the wind and rain, no less! With the engine out of action, Matt rows ashore like a hero, gets it going temporarily, but it doesn’t last long. Thankfully, our friends come to the rescue, picking up a new 4hp outboard for us in Inverness. Big upgrade and a lot more weight for me (Paige) to wrangle aboard! We sail to Salen, meet our friends, and collect the new engine all after a fantastic sail in true Scottish style. From Salen, we set off for Loch Drambuie, enjoying another beautiful passage, navigating through a narrow gap past Broad Rock. To top it all off, Matt forages some winkles from the beach to cook for dinner. Not a bad way to end a day at sea. ⛵ Highlights: Outboard fails again in wind & rain Matt rows ashore & attempts a repair We upgrade to a 4hp engine (goodbye, 2.0!) Fantastic sailing to and from Salen & Loch Drambuie Navigating narrow gaps and rocky channels Beach foraging for wild winkles Another real slice of sailing life — a bit of hassle, plenty of beauty, and a few laughs in between. Come along for the ride!

In this action-packed episode, we enter the Crinan Canal, hoping for a smooth transition from Scotland’s west coast to its inland beauty — but things don’t exactly go to plan. With a strict 2m draft limit, we nearly touch bottom, and it only gets more intense from there. The canal exit turns into chaos with boats crashing, confused lock operations, and to top it off, we snag a 20-meter-long fishing pot line around our keel. Miraculously, we escape damage and continue on, only to witness the boat ahead of us hit rocks hard near our mooring for the night. Despite the drama, we’re treated to stunning sailing conditions and refuel with the best sandwiches in Scotland from our favourite spot on Arran — The Sandwich Station. ⛵ Highlights: Navigating the Crinan Canal with draft restrictions Boats colliding & disorganisation in the locks Fishing pot line wrapped around our keel Rock collision near our overnight stop Gorgeous sailing & epic sandwiches from Arran If you love real-life sailing moments — the highs, the lows, and everything in between — this episode delivers!
