Today started with battle ropes, resistance bands, and then a 20-minute walk/run session — probably a 50/50 split between running and walking, but the important thing is… progress is happening. The energy is good, the consistency is there, and mentally I’m feeling locked in. The knee is still being managed sensibly, but every day feels like another step forward. That’s the thing with 75 Hard — it’s not about perfection, it’s about showing up every single day regardless of how you feel. Tonight’s reward? I've reached Day 47 of the famous 75 Hard Challenge, and in this video I'm sharing my honest thoughts and experiences so far. What have I found easy? What has been the biggest struggle? Has it really made a difference to my fitness, mindset, and daily routine? The 75 Hard Challenge is often described as a mental toughness program rather than just a fitness challenge, and after nearly seven weeks I can definitely see why. In this video I talk about: ✅ The hardest part of the challenge for me ✅ What surprised me the most ✅ The daily habits I've developed ✅ Physical and mental changes I've noticed ✅ Staying motivated when life gets busy ✅ Whether I think it's worth doing ✅ My goals for the remaining 28 days Whether you're considering starting 75 Hard yourself or you're simply interested in personal development, fitness, and building better habits, I hope my experience helps you. Have you completed 75 Hard or are you currently doing it? Welcome back aboard Moor R & R! Episode 29 Join us aboard Moor R & R for another incredible week on the water as we continue our journey north along the Queensland coast! After spending time around Mackay, we finally leave the marina and set our sights further north, excited to get back into true cruising life — quiet anchorages, open water passages, and untouched coastline. As we travel, the ocean puts on a show for us with constant wildlife encounters… managing the strong winds that reminding us just how alive these waters really are. Our journey takes us into The Inlet, a place we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It’s remote, peaceful, and full of promise. After a stretch of patience and plenty of time on the water, we finally get rewarded where it counts — landing some much-overdue fish! A simple moment, but one that feels like a big win after the wait. From there, we continue pushing north as the coastline opens up and the scenery starts to shift, leading us closer to one of Australia’s most iconic cruising destinations — the Whitsundays. This episode is all about movement, patience, wildlife, and those small wins that make life at sea so rewarding. Come along for the highs and lows of life at sea – the joy of community, the challenge of sailing, and all the fun we get up too !!! If you’d like to support our journey and get behind-the-scenes content, early access, and more, you can join our crew and love to welcome you aboard. Swirling winds in New York caused major problems launching the fleet of F50s at the Mubadala Sail Grand Prix, so only four boats made it on to the water, and that was rapidly reduced to just three when the Bonds Flying Roos nosedived, causing significant damage. The racing went ahead with just three boats and points were scored. I am sure there will be significant disquiet amongst the teams who couldn't race through no fault of their own, and go into day two on zero points. Leave your thoughts in the comments... Toni’s surgery is now behind her. She’s already had her follow up appointment and some of the stitches removed, with another follow up and the remaining stitches scheduled in three weeks. After attending the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show, we flew down to Charleston, South Carolina, where Moments in Time had been waiting for us. We had just one day to get her ready for the trip north to the Chesapeake Bay, but the weather windows refused to cooperate. Still, we were determined to make it home before Toni’s next appointment. Waiting out weather isn’t always glamorous… but sometimes it’s exactly what you need. We drop anchor in Boyne Creek near Tannum Sands to sit tight for a few days – keeping south of Gladstone for insurance, riding out some strong winds, and making the most of a perfectly timed stop. With a supermarket just a short walk away and good friends nearby, it’s the ideal chance to reset, reprovision, catch up and finally tackle a long-overdue boat job. When we bought ARGO, we knew the bathrooms needed attention… but like many things in boat life, it kept slipping down the priority list. Not this time. With a few days to spare, we rolled up our sleeves and went all in – transforming a tired, dated space into something fresh, bright, and worthy of ARGO. It wasn’t easy, but the result? Totally worth it. With one big job ticked off, we’re feeling re-energised and ready to push north and continue the adventure. Thanks for watching. We leave Komodo National Park and sail towards the extinct volcanic island of Satonda, off the northern coast of Sumbawa. Famous for its unique saltwater crater lake hidden at the centre of the island, Satonda is an incredible place to visit. The anchorage, however, is very limited, and just beyond it the seafloor plunges to depths of over 1,000 metres as the volcano drops away into the ocean. We stop only for the day, with several of the other rally boats jumping aboard No Regrets to explore the island together. Continuing on to Sumbawa, we’re welcomed by some of the friendliest locals we’ve ever met, making this stop just as memorable as the destination itself. But the real highlight comes before sunrise, as we wake early for a truly unforgettable experience — swimming alongside majestic whale sharks. Seeing these enormous yet gentle creatures up close was absolutely breathtaking and something we will never forget. Timestamps if you like to Jump Right In: 00:00 Intro 00:29 Leaving Komodo National Park 02:42 Satonda Island (extinct volcano lake) 06:19 Sumbawa 09:28 Swimming with Whale Sharks WHO ARE WE? Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. Take a look at Fitnexa Somnipods 3: https://www.fitnexa.com/ We hope you're having a great second half of May!! It looks like we missed all of our April Showers here on Kent Island, and they were saved up for the past week. So...we didn't get as far as we wanted to in some projects, but here is what we have been able to do since you've seen us last. With weather right in that sweet spot of not sweating in enclosed spaces, but warm enough to let resin cure, Matt has gone into the bow lockers to glass in a new bulkhead. As he'll explain in more detail, it was four inches off, which is only a big deal because it needs to be where the forebeam connects both bows, giving it extra strength. The bow shown in the photo above had already been fully glassed in, and with the nose cones on, made it a much harder space for us to work in. Last month I went in with an oscillating tool and cut out the center, leaving a three in ring. Then, Matt came in with a new bulkhead and glassed that in just slightly aft. It's not completely finished yet, but since we've been able to fix this mistake, we can now admit we made it, lol. On my work, I've been continuing to smooth out the cabin top so it will be ready for our AlexSeal topcoat paint soon. Having gone through with the power sander originally I thought everything looked good and I'd be flying through it, but a later check with a guide coat and blocks made me see there were a number of spots that need to be filled and blended in. Hopefully the one round of fairing will be enough and then I can get started on the starboard side, but at least this is giving us a great idea of what to expect on the hull when we go to fair and get it ready for its colored exterior. We hope you enjoy!!

Everyone chasing the cruising dream gets pointed at the same handful of "name" boats — and most of them are priced out of reach for a first-timer. So today Kyle Jachney and I are talking about the ones nobody puts on a list: the older, affordable fiberglass cruisers from the 70s and 80s that quietly get people offshore for a fraction of the price. We go through the whole spread — Irwin, Gulfstar, Morgan, Endeavour, Pearson, CSY, Alden, Bristol, Little Harbor, Tartan, and more — and the most important thing we get into is that these are not all the same boat. There's a real gap between a value-built production cruiser and a genuinely high-end yacht that's only "affordable" now because it's old. Knowing which is which is the difference between a smart first boat and a money pit. What we cover: – Which of these builders punches above their price today – Where the build-quality lines actually fall (and why "old fiberglass" is a lazy way to think about it) – What to look hard at before you buy a 40-year-old boat – The models that still make sense for real offshore use If you're trying to get on the water without a six-figure budget, this is the conversation we wish someone had handed us early on. 📕 The seamanship manual behind the channel — Be The Captain: https://bethecaptain.com 🎥 Co-hosted with Kyle Jachney of Bluewater Yachts: https://www.bluewateryachts.com/ ⛵ More offshore breakdowns and deliveries: subscribe and hit the bell. Drop your boat in the comments, especially if you own one of these, and we got something wrong. That's half the fun. #sailing #liveaboard #cruising #bluewater #classicplastic #sailboat #boatbuying

We are celebrating two massive milestones this weekend! Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it’s officially our 3-year anniversary as a sailing couple. To celebrate, we traded our usual dock for the historic, resilient shores of Galveston Beach, Texas. In this episode, we’re remembering the roots of the island and the holiday. From the solemn Civil War origins of Memorial Day to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, this island is a monument to the human spirit. Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without savoring the lifestyle. We’re taking you along to our favorite local seafood grills right on the Seawall to enjoy some fresh Gulf catch, talk about what it really is like to slow down and enjoy the present by chasing your own version of "nirvana." Ending: Those that we're remembering are beloved friends and family in the past few months - R.I.P! Whether you’re a long-time sailor or sitting at home dreaming of the day you can finally cast off the lines—this one is for you. #boatfoolssailing #sailing #woodenboat #liveaboard #bluewatersailing #sailboattour This One-of-One Wooden Yacht Costs Just $95K | FULL TOUR This 49' Modern Wooden Cutter Left Us Speechless... Welcome back BoatFools Nation! Today Canadian Ken and I step aboard something truly extraordinary — DESTINY, a one-of-one 49-foot Charles Wittholz designed, George Luizer built cutter that completely shattered our assumptions about wooden boats. Featured in WoodenBoat Magazine back in 1987, DESTINY was built using modern juniper-strip construction, epoxy encapsulation, and advanced joinery techniques so innovative that many people assume she’s fiberglass. And here’s the truly wild part: She’s listed at just $95,000. For a yacht this size, this custom, this beautiful, and this capable… that number honestly stunned us. DESTINY is believed to be the only wooden example ever built, later inspiring a fiberglass interpretation by Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding. With her shoal-draft centerboard configuration, massive interior volume, offshore-ready cutter rig, and breathtaking teak interior, this boat feels less like an “old wooden boat” and more like a handcrafted modern cruising yacht hiding in plain sight. CHAPTERS: 00:00 Intro - Canadian Ken Below Deck 00:34 Overview of this Sailboat 03:00 Hull & Topsides 07:46 Up on Deck 13:31 Below Deck 19:07 Galley 20:37 The Head 24:40 The Perkins Diesel 26:27 Final Thoughts! And so the journey begins. We start on the north Atlantic coast of Spain with a destination of Tunisia in northern Africa. Join this channel to support us: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdH2L9SWYIbXONaZ1m9tR_Q/join After two weeks in the boatyard, the day we’ve been working towards has finally arrived. In this episode, we continue our Boatyard Blues series as Te Tāiko’s rudder rebuild enters its final stages. After discovering significant corrosion in our rudder stock, what began as a routine maintenance haul-out turned into one of our most stressful boat repairs we’ve faced since setting sail through the South Pacific. Join us as we make progress on the new rudder stock, complete electrical continuity testing to ensure the rudder is connected to a sacrificial anode for corrosion protection, continue antifouling the hull, reinstall the rudder, and prepare for splash day. Living aboard a sailboat means the adventure doesn’t stop when the sails come down. Behind every ocean passage, remote anchorage, and new destination is the maintenance, planning, and problem-solving that keeps a cruising yacht safe and seaworthy. Whether you enjoy sailboat refits, boatyard projects, yacht maintenance, liveaboard life, offshore sailing, cruising adventures, boat repairs, travel by sailboat, or simply following our journey aboard Te Tāiko, we hope you’ll come along for the ride. From New Zealand to the islands of the South Pacific and now Australia, we’re sharing both the highlights and the hard work that make this lifestyle possible. Subscribe and follow our journey as we continue travelling by land and sea, exploring new places, overcoming challenges, and preparing Te Tāiko for the adventures still to come. #SailingLife #BoatWork #BoatyardLife #SailboatMaintenance #CruisingLife #Liveaboard #SailingAdventure #YachtRepair #SailboatRefit #OffshoreSailing #BoatProjects #TravelVlog #AdventureTravel #Australia #TeTaiko #LiveaboardLife As always, thanks for watching. Is carbon rigging worth it for cruisers? #sailing #carbon #rigging Materials change but we rarely accept it in sailing... The bad reputations stick with sailors for years but the truth is... After a refreshing morning workout in the cockpit, we set sail back to Ibiza! This time, we head into the stunning Old Town (Dalt Vila) for some exploration. The crossing is wonderfully calm, and we're thrilled when a pair of dolphins come to play right beside the boat as we approach our anchorage. We treat ourselves to a delicious vegetarian paella with a view, and catch-up with our good friends Stu & Di from @thecampbellgamble. There's plenty of boaty camaraderie as Stu shows Richard how to clean a carburettor and Jude makes them a new outboard cover. ⚓️ If you’re enjoying the journey, don’t forget to subscribe, like, and drop a comment... Help us get to 30,000 subscribers and we’d love to have you onboard. We return to Tahiti to take possession of our new boat, the Nautitech 40 Open,, struggle with over weight airline baggage, risk of high penalty charges and then the strict French Ploynesian customs while we carry our boat medications including injectables, a new speargun and a surprisingly large amount of alcohol... We get through those hurdles and the next morning go for a test sail to see how the Nautitech 40 operates, go shopping for seemingly endless supplies of Eli's desire and on day 2, GET THE KEYS TO THE BOAT! While we are able to move aboard, because of bank holidays, the bureaucracy is not done and we are left with having the paid the money a week ago but not able to leave harbour as the paperwork is not yesterday "legal"!!! Will we get it before our planned departure in 24 hours - or are we going to be trapped again! It takes us back to the 3 week delay leaving Tahiti last year on the Leopard 45 with similar "paperwork" blocks. We just hope we don't get the 3 week delay again.... Lots of other exciting stuff this week too with pearly shopping and lots of detail about what we bought for the sailing.... Next episode: "How we turn Lou Lou into our home with our own personal stamp!" This is just the beginning… South Pacific sailing is about to start —and later this year… The Portofino 52. 👇 Comment below with your advice especially if you always have some weird things you want to have with you on your travels!👇
