This week aboard Stella Overboard, boat life throws a few more problems our way. From discovering the main pin holding our boom to the mast had started working its way out, to watermaker issues, outboard problems, lazy jack repairs, and the never-ending reality of fixing things in remote places… this episode is a pretty accurate look at what cruising life is really like. Luckily, we’ve learned that sailing is mostly about figuring things out with what you have, carrying as many spares as possible, doing a little creative jimmy-rigging, searching the internet, and accepting help from the amazing people you meet along the way. But after everything that breaks on the boat, somehow the biggest disappointment of the week comes when we think we’ve finally hooked a fish… only to pull up something VERY different 😂 We’re also continuing our journey north through Indonesia, getting closer and closer to Malaysia while trying to squeeze in a few more waves before we leave. And make sure you come back next week because I finally catch the fish I’ve been dreaming about 👀🐟 Thanks so much for watching and following along with our sailing adventure. In this bumper episode, we get an early-morning wake-up call from the Suez Canal Authority as our transit time is suddenly brought forward to 5am. We begin our journey through the canal, stopping at Ismailia Marina to refuel before continuing to our marina berth. Unfortunately, we soon discover that No Regrets has picked up some heavy oil during the passage, leaving ugly stains running down her sides. As we aren't allowed to clean the hulls ourselves, divers have to be brought in to get her looking respectable again. With the boat secure, we head into Cairo with a police escort to explore some of Egypt's incredible history. We visit the Pyramids of Giza, Salah El Din Citadel, St Marcus Church and the Zabbaleen — the "Garbage People of Cairo" — before exploring some of the ancient pyramids at Saqqara, including the Step Pyramid of Djoser, Pyramid of Unas, and the Red and Bent Pyramids. Finally, after an incredible journey through Egypt, we check out and return to the Suez Canal to complete our transit, emerging into the Mediterranean Sea. A huge episode packed with ancient history, modern Cairo, unexpected challenges and the final leg of our journey through the Suez Canal. 00:37 5am Wakeup 02:27 Ismailia Marina 05:44 Cairo 08:24 Pyramids of Giza 09:35 Grand Egyptian Museum 11:01 Salah El Din Citadel 12:43 Garbage City 13:18 Step Pyramid of Djoser 16:56 Pyramid of Unas 18:19 Red & Bent Pyramids 22:03 Suez Canal to the Med WHO ARE WE? Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. I enter Biscayne Bay via the Cape Florida Channel on the faintest of winds. Then an entire month passes as I shuttle back and forth between Key Biscayne and Dinner Key, all the while looking for a weather window to head offshore for the Chesapeake Bay, or Beaufort ... I'll even take Fernandina Beach. But alas, I see nothing. While anchored off of Dinner Key I get clobbered by a wild rainsquall. We put off the job as not only was the leak fairly minor, but we may have lacked the confidence, money and time to do this upgrade. But now we’re in Hobart, Tasmania & we’re finally able to tackle it. We’ve been destructing & deconstructing our old boat that’s high & dry in the boat yard in the hopes all this destructive deconstruction will make her better. What if you had to cross an ocean with NO instruments? No GPS. No compass. No chartplotter. No electronics. Just the stars, waves, birds, floating debris, the sun, the wind — and your knowledge of the ocean. In this episode of Barefoot Doctors Sailing, we dive into the extraordinary traditional navigation skills of the Polynesian voyagers who crossed enormous stretches of the Pacific Ocean long before modern navigation instruments existed. From Tahiti to Moorea, we set out to reconnect with some of the traditional skills, knowledge and culture that allowed Polynesian sailors to navigate thousands of miles of open ocean. 🌴 How did Polynesian navigators find their way across the Pacific?⭐ How the stars were used for navigation🌊 Reading ocean swells and wave patterns🐦 Using seabirds to locate land🥥 Understanding floating debris and other signs of nearby islands☀️ Reading the sun, wind and weather🧭 Navigating without GPS, compass or modern instruments. But this journey wasn’t just about navigation. We also crossed from Tahiti to Moorea to take part in the Tahiti–Moorea Rendezvous, an incredible gathering where traditional Polynesian skills and knowledge are shared with visiting sailors from around the world. There were outrigger canoe races, traditional games, enormous stone-lifting challenges, banana competitions, tug-of-war, coconut shredding and plenty of laughter. And, of course, this is French Polynesia… so there was plenty of rain! ☔😂 But something happened that made the whole experience even more memorable. Despite the weather and less-than-perfect conditions, everyone turned up, joined in and had an enormous amount of fun. And perhaps that’s the real lesson of the day: The best days of your life are often not the days when everything goes perfectly. They’re the days when the weather turns bad, the plans change, things get uncomfortable — and you decide to turn up anyway and participate. Because if you wait for perfect conditions, you might miss some of the greatest experiences of your life. So kick off your shoes and come barefoot with us as we explore Polynesian navigation, Pacific sailing, traditional island culture and the incredible knowledge of the people who mastered the world’s largest ocean. 🌴 Subscribe to Barefoot Doctors Sailing for more adventures through French Polynesia and our continuing journey across the Pacific. @boatfools #columbia39 #BillTripp #Sailboat #Sailing #Classicsailboat They Don’t Build Sailboats Like This Anymore | Columbia 39 | Full Tour The asking price for this 1971 Columbia 39? Best reasonable offer. And for the right sailor, that could make NAIAD a very interesting opportunity. Designed by legendary American yacht designer Bill Tripp, the Columbia 39 comes from an era when fiberglass sailboats were often built with an eye toward strength, offshore capability, and longevity. More than 50 years later, NAIAD is still here — rugged, substantial, and looking for her next caretaker. She needs some TLC. We're not going to pretend otherwise. CHAPTERS: 00:00 INTRO 00:50 Welcome the Columbia 39 02:23 Keel, Hull, & Topsides 07:28 Up On Deck 15:00 Below Deck! 17:10 The Perkins Diesel 21:03 The Head 23:34 Final Thoughts! But underneath the projects is a classic Tripp design that has also benefited from a long list of upgrades and improvements during her current ownership. Since purchasing NAIAD in 2015, her owner has tackled everything from tanks, ground tackle and deck paint to sails, running rigging, fuel systems, exhaust, batteries and drivetrain components. Notable work includes: • New mainsail and stack pack • New jib • Rebuilt Harken roller furler • 200' of G4 chain and Spade anchor • Rebuilt manual anchor windlass • New stainless steel prop shaft • Rebuilt Max-Prop • PYI PSS shaft seal • New cutlass bearing and shaft coupling • New fuel tank • Rebuilt fuel injection pump • Rebuilt starter and new solenoid • New alternator • New VHF, antenna and cable • New propane solenoid, monitoring system and supply plumbing • New stainless exhaust elbow and upgraded Vetus wet-exhaust system • Two Group 31 Lifeline AGM house batteries plus starting battery • New battery cables and isolation/parallel switching • Composting head system • New bottom paint for 2026 So no, she's not a shiny new production boat. She's 55-year-old Bill Tripp-designed Columbia 39 with good bones, a lot of important work already behind her, some work still ahead of her — and a seller willing to entertain the best reasonable offer. This week Canadian Ken gets the day off, while Green Mountain Josh makes his return to Maine. Which means he's no longer Green Mountain Josh. He's Just Josh. Join Tris and Just Josh aboard NAIAD as we take a full BoatFools look at this classic Columbia 39 and try to answer the question that realy matters: Could this rugged old Bill Tripp design be the right boat for someone willing to give her a little TLC?

We were running hot in Georgetown, and so were the Volvos. The only thing harder than cooling ourselves off was finding coolant for the engines. We’re anchored in Kidd’s Cove, searching Georgetown for strangely elusive coolant for our long-suffering Volvo Penta diesels. Back aboard Dark Angel, we install the new furling line we found at Brown’s Marine and the pennant halyards we sourced at Top to Bottom. We move to Flip Flop Beach, where I dive the anchor in very shallow water and discover the holding is far from ideal, but good enough for the day. With the heat building inside our un-air-conditioned boat, we take the paddleboards along the shoreline to the northern tip of Stocking Island. The sun is hot, the water is warm, and the Exumas are gorgeous. Our visitors have gone and it’s time to get going. This is as far east as we sail this season. From here we turn around and start heading west — west all the way to the Caribbean. First, though, we have a date in Canet in mid-August. With a break in the westerlies, we need to make haste and get moving as fast as we can. Ahead of us is about four days of sailing, including a few overnight passages. This is real-life Med sailing and motorsailing: progress that can feel slower than a person on a bike, and a reminder that the Mediterranean isn’t the “big ocean” — until you’re trying to cross it against the clock. Join us as we leave the east behind, pick up the westbound rhythm, and take the first real steps on the path that will eventually take Helios to the Caribbean. The Atlantic is showing zero mercy - and for the fleet, tough conditions mean absolutely zero rest. 🌊💥 After a massive impact to their port foil at 25 knots caused a technical issue with their foil ram, Team Malizia was forced to pause, assess the damage, and engineer an onboard solution in punishing seas. The result? Ram secured, checks complete, and Malizia 4 is officially back at full power, charging hard after the leaders. High speeds, wild mid-ocean maintenance, and relentless pressure—this is raw IMOCA offshore racing at its absolute limits. 👊⚡️ Don’t forget to subscribe for more The Ocean Race: https://goo.gl/BzBCwU Check out our full video catalogue: https://goo.gl/nrB9ay Like The Ocean Race on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theoceanrace/ Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/theoceanrace/ Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theoceanrace/ Read More: http://www.theoceanrace.com

This Yacht is for Sale: https://bit.ly/4hbiAmv Become a NAUTI Member: https://bit.ly/NautiCrew Follow Us @NautiGuys @OperationFNX https://bit.ly/3yPe1Z5 They really DON'T build them like this anymore! 😍⚓ Today we're stepping aboard a 1982 Hatteras 65 LRC, and if you're into classic Hatteras yachts, long-range cruising, serious liveaboards, or simply boats with a ton of character — you're going to want to see this one. LRC stands for Long Range Cruiser, and that tells you exactly what this yacht was designed to do. This isn't about getting somewhere as fast as possible. It's about comfortable cruising, range, practicality, storage, and spending some serious time aboard. And when you step inside a classic 65-foot Hatteras, you quickly realize just how much HOME you can fit into a yacht this size. 👀 We're going through the entire boat — exterior decks, entertaining spaces, salon, galley, accommodations, storage, helm, and all of those clever details we always look for on a true liveaboard. And yes… Rico is heading into the technical spaces and engine room because on a yacht designed for long-distance cruising, THAT is where things get really interesting. 🤓⚙️ She's from 1982, but does that actually make her old… or does it make her old-school cool? Would you take a classic Hatteras like this over a newer production yacht? Let us know in the comments! She is currently listed for sale for $749,000. Is this the prettiest Fairline ever built? 😍🤩🛥️. In this first full review of the brand new 2027 Fairline Targa 58 GTO, we take you through absolutely everything; from the spectacular beach club and huge cockpit to the beautifully finished interior, accommodation and that wonderfully clean new helm. There’s plenty to explore on board, including the drop-down balconies, garage and beach club arrangement, enormous cockpit table, outdoor galley, three-cabin layout and some seriously impressive detailing throughout. We also head forward to look at the wider side decks, bow seating and one-piece windscreen, before climbing into the engine bay to see the twin Volvo Penta D13 1000s. Then it’s time to leave the marina and take the Targa 58 GTO out onto Southampton Water for a quick sea trial. We see how those shaft-drive D13s perform, talk through the handling and helm layout, and find out what sort of speed she can achieve. Finally, we break down what this particular boat costs to buy and run – including finance, fuel, berthing, servicing, insurance and depreciation – before giving her the all-important JB’s Measure of Pleasure score.📊 And naturally, no tour would be complete without the silly socks🧦, the floss test, the shout window…and a slightly less dignified encounter with the hammock at the end. Let us know in the comments: is this the best-looking Fairline yet? ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 Introducing the 2027 Fairline Targa 58 GTO 00:40 Beach club & garage 05:42 Cockpit, balconies & entertaining space 09:48 Galley & the “Stella Waiter” 14:12 New helm & shout window test 15:55 Cabins & accommodation 20:12 Side decks, sunroof & bow area 24:09 Sea trial on Southampton Water 26:48 Full cost of ownership breakdown 28:27 JB’s Measure of Pleasure & final verdict 🔔 Like & Subscribe for more exclusive factory tours and boat reviews! Invictus is an award-winning 2009 Krogen 55 Expedition yacht ready to drop lines again. She is now offered for sale by her third owner. Invictus’ spacious interior, storage and ease of boarding/disembarking make her an excellent live aboard, full-time cruising vessel. The price is $1,299,000.00. Detailed specifications and photos are available on https://www.JMYS.com. Inspections are by appointment only. This video was filmed in Maryland in August of 2026. Chapters: 00:00 Intro 01:33 Foredeck 02:53 Portuguese Bridge 03:45 Boat Deck 06:04 Swim Platform 06:28 Cockpit 08:51 Saloon 10:54 Galley 12:52 Landing 13:05 Day Head 13:41 Owner Stateroom 14:42 Owner Head 15:05 Hallway 15:37 Guest Stateroom 17:21 Engine Room 23:03 Lazarette 25:30 Pilothouse In addition to the port and starboard boarding doors at cockpit sole level, Invictus has two port and starboard access points in the foredeck railing and two more port and starboard boarding doors on the Portuguese bridge. The engine room has three accesses with the primary through a hatch at the base of the pilothouse stairs. Her owner has cruised her about 12,000 miles traveling to ports far and near including St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas to Maryland. She is ready to take you cruising coastal waters or crossing the ocean to explore new ports of call abroad. Invictus’ off-grid capabilities are the star of the show. The solar panel arrangement and battery bank allows owners to stay on anchor in the most remote locations and enjoy modern living without constantly running the generator. The ability to eat fresh popcorn and watch a streaming movie from your recliner while running the dishwasher and clothes dryer from the batteries is what off-grid comfort living is all about. Invictus is an excellent vessel for the active owner operator couple. Her generous size offers spacious quarters for full-time on-board travel, entertaining and hosting guests. Guests will appreciate the private accommodations with separate head. Her interior layout features two staterooms: the owner accommodation is forward, with an ensuite full head. The bed is large, there are multiple lockers and drawers, and this is a quiet place to read, relax and sleep. The spacious guest room is amidships, to starboard. The guest quarter includes a L- shaped settee that converts to a bed. The room also features a desk against the bulwark, and Miele laundry appliances to wash and dry clothes that can both run off battery power without the need for the generator. The second full head with shower is a step across the companionway from the guest stateroom, conveniently located for all aboard. The engine room has a large hatch in the hallway sole with a ladder that leads to stand up head room for easier service and inspections with central access to both engines. The large, upper-level pilothouse has 360-degree visibility and is equipped with two navy STIDD helm chairs with MFD control in the Captain’s armrest and a small refrigerator. The spacious entry level saloon is wrapped in warm cherry and features two custom leather La-Z-Boy recliners, an L-shaped settee covered in Ultraleather, a bookcase, a cherry hi-lo table that opens to easily seat eight for dinner and can be moved outside for al fresco dining, an extra freezer, and copious storage. Yacht journalist Dick Durham sits down with Kraken Yachts founder Dick Beaumont to discuss their opinions on the recent capsize of the Oyster 825 "Viva La Vida," which suffered severe keel damage during Hamilton Island Race Week in Australia, off the coast of the Whitsunday Islands on 21 August 2026. All ten crew on board were safely evacuated with no injuries reported. In this conversation, Dick Beaumont sets out why he believes bolt-on keels pose a fundamental safety risk to bluewater sailors, and why Kraken's fully integral Zero Keel design was engineered specifically to remove that risk altogether.

🇳🇿🇺🇸 // “We’re paying a heavy price for it” While the daggerboard IMOCA MSIG Europe was never in the same league from the start on this transatlantic run, the Kiwis were determined to fight tooth and nail to stay attached to the fleet. Unfortunately, the J2 furler failure precipitated the inevitable. And it came with a steep price tag. To repair the drum on deck, Conrad and Elie spent no less than 2.5 hours working in wildly unstable conditions and a rough sea state. “Of course, that’s the exact moment the front swept over us. When I felt the rain start falling, it just broke my heart. We were heading North to repair, instead of making easting... As a result, we got completely uncoupled from the weather system. The other boats had no issues. They kept blasting ahead, locked in ahead of the front.” Now dropped into a different air mass, the chances of closing the gap on the pack are slipping away, leaving the crew to play their own hand. But it will take a lot more than that to dent the morale onboard. By claiming a great 3rd place in yesterday’s “Super Sprint”, Conrad and his crew proved they’ve got plenty of resilience and won't be giving up!
