After a wild and woolly night at the western most edge of Australia, Steep Point, we head off east and explore. RMK Marine are an industrial powerhouse located in Tuzla, close to Istanbul. A tour of their facilities reveals huge commercial tankers in various stages of construction, along with numerous luxury yacht refit projects and one particularly interesting luxury yacht in construction. The RMK 58 meter explorer yacht shares the same DNA as the commercial ships in build, but also benefits from RMK's rich heritage in building luxury yachts. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

We leave the tranquil paradise of Kauehi for the bustling atoll of Fakarava. Sarah’s friend Lucy flies in and we take her on a flying visit through this large atoll. We only really explore the southern end where there is a famous pass known for its epic snorkelling and diving. After spending almost 2 days underwater checking out this great spot, we begin a small but significant crossing to Tahiti with Lucy. The winds are light and she handles it like a champ. We had another awesome day at Lake Pupuke, this time hanging out with Andrew Brown who offers and hour of free coaching to any young sailor who is keen to turn up. A great little fleet took up the offer and they worked on their starts and tacks, but most importantly, they had a load of fun on the water, instead of being home doing chores. O Emilio conseguiu não só ser um velejador, mas um dos maiores e mais conhecidos velejadores de cruzeiro da lagoa. Além de fazer deliveries de barcos a vela e a motor por todo o Brasil. Velejar aqui junto com o Emilio é uma aula de como enfrentar adversidades. Vejo os meus medos diante dos meus problemas e de repente eles parecem muito menores do que eu sentia antes. É uma velejada que vou lembrar para sempre. Isso que a perna é só um dos problemas que ele enfrentou. Ele venceu o câncer 8 vezes! Não parava de pensar que estava diante de um herói. Algumas vezes a vida traz alguns problemas complicados para resolvermos, que podem até parecer sem solução. Já aconteceu comigo e provavelmente com você também, mas de repente você enxerga algo que faz você mudar a sua forma de pensar. Lá no meio de tanta água você acha um cantinho como este, um abrigo lindo para ancorar. A vida é assim também, é um pouco como o vento: Não é uma variável que você controla, o importante é como você posiciona as suas velas e segue em frente. Se você não pode mudar uma situação ruim, mude a percepção que você tem dela. Não pense que o mundo é quem te limita, é você mesmo que desenha as suas fronteiras. Para mim Tapes foi uma grata surpresa, curtimos muito estar em uma pequena cidade do interior. Tapes é uma cidade com apenas 16 mil habitantes, mas tem 4 fotos de veleiros em sua página da Wikipedia. Isso não podia passar desapercebido. Apesar de ter um grande número de veleiros aqui na cidade, o Emilio acha que podería melhorar bastante a cultura náutica da região. #superação #motivação
