An exclusive interview with Dries Wajer and Ronald van Hulst about the design philosophy and making of - the new Wajer 55.

For decades, Lake X has been Mercury Marine’s secret testing ground, where they’ve pushed the limits of marine innovation. This time, they let us in for an exclusive interview. Our CEO, Dries Wajer, met with Ken Eckert (Engineering Manager, Mercury Marine) to test our Wajer 38 S with Mercury’s V10 outboards. They discussed the vision behind the redesigned Wajer 38 S, the decision to go with Mercury’s powerful new engines, and what's next for Wajer and Mercury Marine. We captured it all in an exclusive interview.

Deep in Florida's wilderness, surrounded by alligators and mangroves, we put the Wajer 38 S through its paces at Mercury Marine's legendary Lake X testing facility. This marks a milestone for Wajer – the 38 is our first yacht powered by outboard motors. Equipped with triple Mercury Verado V10 engines, the 38 S returned to the very location where these powerful V10 outboards were developed. Our testing program subjected the yacht to a series of performance benchmarks. The results speak for themselves - impressive handling, speed, and maneuverability in this challenging environment.

Considerably more voluminous than the Wajer 38, yet at 13 metres, she's more compact than the Wajer 55. The newest Wajer is a spacious day boat that is conveniently comfortable for overnight stays.

After its announcement earlier this year, Wajer Yachts proudly unveiled their new Wajer 44 last Wednesday. Not in the Mediterranean sea, but in the pool of the exclusive Hotel Le Beauvallon at the Cote d´Azur, witnessed by over 350 guests.
