We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Curtindo o nosso novo jardim em Santa Catarina, nos deparamos com a previsão de um Ciclone, simples assim. Preparamos o veleiro e enfrentamos mais este perrengue. O Iate Clube Santa Catarina Veleiros da Ilha nos cedeu uma vaga em um píer. Lá nos preparamos para pegar este ciclone que previa rajadas de 90kts. Antes disso curtimos um pouco das praias de Florianópolis, especialmente Santo Antônio de Lisboa e Jurerê. Não é fácil morar em um veleiro na ilha, não há um lugar abrigado para todos os ventos e isso te força a mudar de lugar constantemente.

Rough Seas, Dolphins, Night Sailing, A Stunning French Town & More. After nothing more than day sailing, our Captain has decided its time for us to take on the high seas, and asked us to help him with a yacht delivery from the west coast of France, back to the UK. In this episode we start off in a postcard picture beautiful French town, experience some sea sickness after a bumpy ride in the Bay of Biscay, and we're joined by several pods of dolphins throughout the trip.

We are finally back on the move after four days of being becalmed! This episode includes a major highlight of our crossing: visits from Northern Bottlenose Whales and a pod of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins!! We were so excited, we kept all of the footage in, so the dolphin part is a bit long, but it's worth every second to us. What a treat! The winds pick up and it becomes quite rough, so we are forced to eat some emergency foods for times when cooking is not an option. It's not great, but it gets us through. New chartplotter and radar antenna, were the antenna is standing on a Scanstrut radar leveling bracket. Keeps you radar picture stabile when the boats heels over, really cool! En cette dernière journée de juillet 2018, le Musard 29 SMART atteint le port du Palais à Belle Ile. Comme le niveau de marée ne permet pas de franchir immédiatement l'écluse pour rejoindre le bassin des Salines, nous sommes contraints au demi-tour pour nous amarrer à une bouée devant le port. Et comme d'habitude en été, c'est la cohue à l'ouverture du pont, et tous les bateaux se donnent en spectacle à la grande joie des touristes de passage... Notre but est d'atteindre pour quelques jours, un coin au calme, tout au fond du port.

Unser Deck nimmt langsam gestalt an. Der alte Belag kommt runter und es wird neu grundiert. Ruben ist diesmal wieder eine ganze Woche an Bord und hat sich viel vorgenommen. Es wird fleißig geschliffen und geflext, solange bis der blanke Stahl zu sehen ist. Leider wird dadurch auf deutlich, dass unter den Gummiresten des Teakdecks sich immer mehr kleine Rost-Löcher befinden. Aber kein Grund aufzugeben! Wir machen weiter und fangen an die Installation der Fenster vorzubereiten. Hierzu werden die Fensterrahmen und die Rahmen der Bordwand geschliffen und neu grundiert. Bei 10 Fenstern ist das ganz schön viel Arbeit, aber es macht auch Spaß ein tolles Ergebnis zu sehen. :-) Während das Deck sandgestrahlt wird, mache ich einen Tag Pause und entdecke den Strand von Bibione. Bei Sonnenschein und außerhalb der Saison ein schönes Erlebnis.
