Dopo un attento controllo, solo la capsula di gonfiatura automatica era scaduta e l'abbiamo cambiata nonostante fosse in ottime condizioni. La lampada automatica in dotazione scadrà a breve e sostituiremo anche quella nonostante funzioni ancora perfettamente. Ricordate che la vostra vita dipende dal vostro giubbotto, se cadete in mare siete soli e dipendete da lui. All'interno del nostro giubbottto noi abbiamo anche un rilevatore di uomo a mare AIS della WeatherDock. Il nostro modello è molto ingombrante, adesso ne fanno di più piccoli, fra un paio di anni, quando questi scadranno (anche loro hanno una scadenza) li sostituiremo. .

One of Tambi's new favorite things to do is taking the paddle board out to explore the mangrove creeks that run through many of the islands. So we take her to the mouth of the creek, get her set up on the paddle board, and we follow her through the creek in the dinghy. I've discovered that the dinghy can be used a bit like a stand up paddle board. It doesn't track quite as straight, but it gets the job done. After paddle boarding, the rain came in. Thankfully it wasn't a thunderstorm, just a rainmaker. I actually enjoy a good rain shower like this. It's a thing of beauty, and I always appreciate when the boat gets a free freshwater rinse. Finally, we head back to the blue hole with Will and Rose to jump off the cliff. OH JOY! What's an acrophobia sufferer like me to do other than join in on the high-altitude fun. Thanks for watching!! We go back and forwards in time at the International Date Line and have a wet and wild time at the Tavoro Falls in the Bouma National Heritage Park . There's even a beer drinking contest on the very bumpy road back to the resort. We say a very sad 'See you later' to our friends and fellow divers , Matt, Jason and Kimberley . Cleaning day on Seatramp! While I sit in the laundry, Mario cleans the boat.. guess who had the better job? After everything is clean again, we leave the marina and hoist the sails, set course for the North end of the island to a town called St Pierre, which happens to be home of one of the most famous volcanoes in the Caribbean. Mt Pelee killed over 28.000 people in one blast in the early 1900s..with only 2 survivers. We finally get our old (Trident Warrior 38) sailing yacht moving again, after having to change the starter motor while being 'stranded' in Inverness, and the adventure is back underway. In this episode we make our way through Loch Ness, then the rest of the Caledonian canal, in Scotland, learning about it's rich history and enjoy some truly breath taking scenery, as well as learning how tricky it actually is to sail through the Lochs. We have four of us currently living aboard this blue water boat, for the first leg of our journey home, and for a 38ft liveaboard sailing yacht, she feels remarkably spacious with all of us on board. Once again a huge shout out to the man who's helping us learn the rope (lines, I meant lines!) on our own sail boat, by joining us on this first leg of our adventure, Eddy. We also finally get brave enough to fly our drone (Mavic Pro 2 zoom) from a moving boat, which was all kinds of scary when it came to trying to land it again. Once in San Carlos, after crossing the Sea of Cortez from Loreto, it was time to prepare SV Blackdragon for the hurricane season. I had to remove all halyards, sails, fresh water-flush everything, etc. I spent some time with friends from SV Passport and SV Double D around some langostinos. The day I was leaving, the marina got hit by a hurricane that got downgraded to a Tropical Storm. Un vero viaggio a vela: un po' bagnati da Trapani a San Vito lo Capo e poi con un bel Maestrale gagliardo in poppa fino a Palermo, dove abbiamo fatto una sosta per lasciar passare la burrasca e godere delle meraviglie di questa città contraddittoria e bellissima. Ripreso il mare per Cefalù e infine le Eolie, abbiamo sfruttando ogni refolo di vento, alternando alle giornate di vela serate a terra, tra paesini e vulcani.
