This week we leave Croatia and complete a 2 night passage to Greece. We check out of Gruz Harbour in Dubrovnik at 9pm and set sail for Corfu. Our plan is to sail directly off the coast of Dubrovnik before catching the strong Northerly winds predicted, sailing past Montenegro and Albania before arriving at Ipsos on Corfu Island, Greece. Unfortunately not all goes to plan with the wind and forecast and after a great start when we sail the first 4 hours but then have to motor sail before the unthinkable happens, we have to motor. Fortunately this is short lived and the wind gods allow for a down wind sail. The conditions are still messy and this leads to a uncomfortable sea state. During the trip we are fortunate to be accompanied by two large pods of Dolphins, 1 pod deep in the Adriatic sea off Montenegro and one close to the rocky mountains off Albania, both pods bow ride Kawai which is a thrill and it's an awesome experience. With strong winds off the mountains Kawai is inundated with beach toys floating amongst the big seas. We collect three floatation devices but see many more but due to the sea state find them impossible to collect. Jase tries his luck fishing the entire trip without luck. Coming into Corfu we are stalked by a huge Tuna which follows Kawai from Albania to Greece. The Tuna is not interested in the two lures behind Kawai but effortlessly swims up and back circling Kawai. The winds really pick up as we sail the Corfu coastline reaching 34 knots as we pull the sails down at our anchorage at Ipsos. We find a nice sand patch where we drop the anchor and after a couple of hours of strong winds the bay settles where we swim in the clear waters as the sun goes down. We love completing over night passages, as you never know what you are going to see or get which makes it so exciting. You are more isolated making for more of an adventure. The sailing on this trip is also more challenging with a larger swell and inconsistent winds at times. All in all it was a great 2 night, 2 day passage, hopefully you enjoy watching it unfold. We really enjoyed sailing the Croatian Islands but can't wait to explore the Greek Islands. We have sailed some of the Greek Islands previously but with so many different Islands to choose from the coming months will be a lot of fun. Subscribe if you want to see more :) About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :) Instagram Jason: https://www.instagram.com/jase_stephe... Lou really shares how high her nerves and anxiety levels were leading up to and after the big splash. What a roller coaster! We hope that you will join us on our journey. Rick, Lou and Buoy

Shaun went to register the boat and got surprised by what he found out. It led him on a new quest. We finally started really tearing into the boat and still did a whole lot of cleaning. Brittany's mom, Bonni, spent the weekend with us and put in a ton of work! The boat is finally starting to feel like it's ours! Who do you think designed this build? Norman Cross? Arthur Piver? Jim Brown? We're pretty sure it's home built but are thinking that it had to be based on some sort of plans. Back in the 70's, you could build a boat and have the coastguard give it a once over. One of our favourite places so far has been West Bay on Middle Percy Island. Lovely beach, clean water, palm trees and a great place to socialise. In this video we explore the Percy Island Hilton, also known as the Percy Island Yacht Club and check out all of the interesting signs from other cruisers who have passed this way. We also put up our own sign ! We get to see a whale in shallow water, not great shots but he's there. I was very excited to see how close the whale came to our boat and how close into shore he went.. We have a lovely goat stew dinner with fellow cruisers on shore and enjoy a hot shower and sensational meal with our favorite fellow cruisers, Kim and Craig with their boat dog, Hudson, who we met in Hervey Bay many months ago now. The winds gusted to 25 knots, when we crossed Lake Superior from the North Shore to the Apostle Islands. They started out light, but when a squall passed over the lake, the sailing conditions for our Pearson 36 Cutter greatly improved. It was a really fun passage with plenty of sailing time..

Incase you are wondering "Blowing out the cobwebs" is a term my father used to use when there was a good wind and a good sail. In this episode I arrive back from the US a little jetlagged and we start another great weekend on the boat. It started off with some docking practice and we ended up going to Säck. Been there before but sometimes that's ok :) It was cracking sailing weather all the way out and back, got some great drone footage and learnt a few things along the way. We like to share the experiences and we hope you enjoy watching. Cheers, Chris and Tanja

Drake and Sofia Sweet, a brother and sister team, love the ocean. They moved to Florida at the age of 3 and have been water babies ever since. Growing up on the ocean and seeing such an increase in pollution over the last few decades has caused them much concern. While out spearfishing and sailing they began to regularly see balloons, cans, water bottles, food wrappers, plastics and other materials toxic to sea life and the ocean ecosystem. They decided they needed to help the ocean and its creatures in some way, and so Sibling Company was born. Each year, Sibling will select a non-profit group dedicated to maintaining and safeguarding the world’s oceans. Through 2019, a percentage of all profits from Sibling Co. purchases will go toward the Ocean Clean Up—the largest cleanup project in history, aiming to remove trillions of pieces of plastic waste from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Florida, the sunshine state, with its ruthless summers and 80-degree winters requires everyone to wear some sort of sun protection. To celebrate the launch of Sibling Co., Drake and Sofia have designed a straw hat with a cloth lining to help protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Drake and Sofia are excited to unveil many more products that protect the skin while supporting and bringing awareness to issues that threaten marine life. We rented motorbikes to get us up through the lower coconut groves then set out of the 4 hour hike up the mountain. A crazy rainstorm hit us and we found shelter under a tarp for a while then continued. The rain raised the rivers and we battled them in very dangerous conditions. Sailboat tech: How does a marine autopilot work? (Featuring the Raymarine evolution & EV1 sensor) // Ryan’s tech corner #7 In this new episode of Ryan’s tech corner, we explore autopilots. What exactly is a marine autopilot and how does it work? What is the difference between a wind vane and an electronic autopilot? What to think about before buying an autopilot for your boat? That's right! Three of us delinquents went sailing with cops on a catamaran. Deb and Phil bought their catamaran and have been getting ready to sail up to the Canaries for several months. They invited us to go sail with them and check things out. And they got me and the Canadians drunk. We all survived a fun adventure and began a new one on Galopin with or without the autopilot, me, Peixe and Ricardo set of for Sal island on an incredibly odd glass sea. In this episode we take you on an incredible journey up the Rio Dulce river in Guatemala, to haul Parlay out for the first time since buying her after hurricane Irma. The Rio is lined with 300ft cliffs and we send the drone up to capture some amazing footage of Mother Nature in all her glory. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Join us this week as we do some of our best touring of the Caledonian Canal. Traveling only 6 miles from our last anchorage in Loch Oich, we land in Ft. Augustus, which has to be one of the most charming towns we've ever seen. There is a flight of 5 locks to pass through here, and although many tourist come to see that...this town is also an entry point to Loch Ness!! Early in the morning we make our decent into this famous lake, anchor ourselves next to an impressive castle, and enjoy a couple of hometown brews to celebrate Matt's birthday. Much love from Scotland! Jessica, Matt & Georgie Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. These amazing supporters help keep us on the boat, our camera equipment up to date, and the videos coming. We are releasing DAILY videos this week of our 1,500 mile voyage south. On Days 4 and 5 we finally sailed out of the heavy winds and found calm conditions. The "barf bowl" was put away and spirits improved! Now if only we had "some" wind to sail?! Actually, we were all pretty happy with motoring, getting some much needed rest and recharging those batteries. We had a few visitors to the boat too. POSTING DAILY ON SOCIAL: https://www.instagram.com/the_sailing_family/ https://www.facebook.com/the-sailing-family-voyage/ ----------------- ABOUT US: WE ARE THE SAILING FAMILY! Welcome aboard. We are a family of five sailing around the world on our "dream boat," a performance catamaran named "Archer."  Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world from the East Coast of the US to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created the first "sailing channel." But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with our kids. We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That's why we are "The Sailing Family." ABOUT EACH OF US: SETH learned to sail with his family on Lake St. Clair, Michigan when he was 12. Later in life he raced on multiple one-design boats in the San Francisco Bay and in Cape Cod. But the dream of sailing around the world really took hold during a bareboat vacation to the BVIs with his family when he saw other cruisers living and traveling full time aboard their sailboats. All he needed now was a willing partner and co-captain! In 2008, Seth & Elizabeth got married and for their honeymoon they bought a boat, named her "Honeymoon" and the rest is history! ELIZABETH was new to sailing when they started off, but she's always loved to travel. 25,000 nautical miles later she is now an accomplished sailor, and despite being prone to seasickness, she values the experiences she can share with her boys. During their first trip she came up with the idea of Vacay, a resort-wear clothing brand perfect for sailors as all her items are designed to mix-and-match to create multiple looks. 5 items can create up to 15 outfits! It's been so successful that she quit her job at GAP Inc and now works full-time from the boat to build her business. Check out www.vacaystyle.com and support her if you can. OUR BOYS were a little reluctant to leave our home in Mill Valley, CA, but now that we are in the groove we plan to keep going. They miss their friends but also appreciate the life experiences they are gaining. Hale loves baseball, Rhys is our Lego engineer and Pierce's nickname is "Pierce-Fierce" (as we think he's been raised by wolves). They're great kids and best friends, which makes living on a boat with them a true joy. OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red 2014 Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal.  At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. THANKS for watching all.  Please leave a comment to tell us what you think and let us know if you have questions.  And Subscribe!

We both had jobs where we were doing well that gave us the security of health and retirement benefits but we didn't want to sacrifice our happiness and freedom for it or for having a good house with good cars ... So we left our jobs and quickly realized that we wanted a simple and minimal lifestyle. We ended up renting our house and moving to our mini-house with wheels to travel to North America with our two dogs. ☺ Support our production and help our channel grow by giving this video a THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBING to our channel! ☺ Join our Patreon crew to get on board with us! ☞ https://www.patreon.com/livinghakuna Find our gear here: ☞ https://livinghakuna.com/our-gear/ ⇩ SUBSCRIBE ⇩ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrlbNFmD2FNK9srrkjTnIPA?sub_confirmation=1 ☞ Instagram: https://instagram.com/LivingHakuna/ ☞ Facebook: https://facebook.com/LivingHakuna ☞ Website: https://www.livinghakuna.com ☞ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/livinghakuna

We have found and finished the edit of our Lost Episode in Puerto Rico. Click here to watch the episode! This is the second half of our time sailing Puerto Rico with our family on board. We sail from Culabrita to the famous sister island of Culebra. Explore the popular Flaminco Beach. Climb around the graffiti painted US Navy Tanks that remain washed up on shore. Sail off to the chain of Spanish Islands on the coast of Western Puerto Rico and spend a day touring the historic Old San Juan just before sending our family back home. But now it was time for us to prep for our longest passage yet and sail across the Mona Passage for Turks & Caicos. We had kept one family member,my sister Jacqueline, on board to help with the crossing. We had a 3 day passage from Mayaguez, PR to Turks & Caicos, a total of 400 nautical miles so having her along helped with the shifts! Come along with us as we sail into the sunset, swim over the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean (Puerto Rican Trench), rip our favorite sail on day one, and finally make our way to Turks & Caicos! Thanks for watching the Adventures of WE! We're invited to join Pierre on his Outremer 5X BioTrek from La Grande Motte to the Cannes Yachting Festival. Challenging weather forecast, but the wind will be from the right direction. 156Nm in exactly 12 hours, 13 knots on average over all and much higher averages during the hours that the wind was really present. In Part 2 the wind got back to normal and we finish the last 25 miles from Saint Tropez to Cannes.
