Day of the Star North American Championship 2019 saw the notorious Barnegat Bay sea breeze pipe up for two races. Gold stars crossed the finish line first in both races today, setting the bar high for the rest of the regatta hosted by the Toms River Yacht Club, New Jersey.

Description
Ever wondered why Riva del Garda is such a favourite for sailors both on the water and off? Stuart Childerley, our Race Officer, explains why he so.
In today’s five races, all held in the southerly Ora wind of 8 to 13 knots, the immaculate Swiss team never finished a race deeper than third and ended the day four points ahead of second-placed Red Bull Sailing Team.
We are preparing our sailing adventure which should lead us around the world with our two little kids Kyell and Ida. We'll start October '19 from Jersey City, NJ. We will travel through the Caribbean and pass over to the Pacific on our way to Hamburg, Germany. We love to share our story with you. https://www.networkyachtbrokersbarcelona.com/ https://www.european-yacht-charters.com/ Spain, Barcelona, Port Ginesta, Sailing. There are many factors to consider when you're deciding on a base for your Motorboat or Yacht. Port Ginesta will appeal to sailors for many differing reasons. An important consideration is that this part of the Spanish coast is family-friendly and has something for everyone. North East Spain has excellent weather with just the right amount of wind for sailing. Barcelona is visited by 20 million tourists every year. That's why, as a European Destination, Barcelona is a location that is without question, the biggest jewel in the crown of European cities to visit. Iconic, historic and culturally diverse sites in and around the city cannot be found anywhere else in Europe on this scale. From Port Ginesta Marina entrance, we are twenty minutes by car to the centre of Barcelona. Beaches in Port Ginesta Arriving in Port Ginesta on a busy bank or holiday weekend (and we have lots of holidays in Spain) you will find the public beach packed with sun worshipers. More active beachgoers can enjoy watersports such as dingy sailing, windsurfing, volleyball, and of course people watching. Find your favourite location and listen to music at on the many beach bars that appear during the summer months. The public beach in Port Ginesta stretches for about ten uninterrupted miles, starting at the Marina entrance extending to Barcelona Airport boundary. Next, to the Marina entrance on the southern side of Port Ginesta, you can find a less well-known beach that's only accessible by passing through the Marina. Visitors by car are not allowed during busy times, keeping this place much more private for boat owners. The beaches surrounding Port Ginesta are kept in pristine condition by the local council. There are plenty of showers and public conveniences along the beautifully surfaced cycle promenade that runs the length of the beach. Located away from the Centre of Barcelona, the beaches near Port Ginesta attract thousands of visitors during busy days. They do have an excellent reputation for being safe and family-friendly. Stretching for miles, you will always find a spot that's perfect for you. Sailing and Watersports Opportunities for cruising yachts are plentiful from Port Ginesta. Visiting the Spanish Balearics by boat for the weekend is a popular option from Port Ginesta. However, often described as a unique sailing experience will be to travel along the coast to Barcelona City Centre. Barcelona centre is where you and your crew can enjoy fun-packed evenings before heading back to Port Ginesta. Our recommendation for visiting yacht would be a stay in Port Olympic. It is close enough to the city centre to walk and occupies a central position to the famous city centre beaches. Heading south from the harbour entrance you will pass many impressive Marinas. However, a must-see is Sitges, and we recommend a few nights in this place. Although affectionately referred to as the Gay capital of Europe, during the summer, one usually finds a great mix of party-goers enjoying the spectacles that are often served up in the street! Marine Services The boatyard in Port Ginesta is extensive and caters for all types of craft. Due to its easy access by motorway, it has become a favourite location for new yacht commissioning. The C32 motorway runs past the Marina as does the rail line. There are few work restrictions in the Port and provided owners comply with health and safety they are welcome to work on boats in the yard. Network Yacht Brokers Barcelona operates the largest brokerage service in Port Ginesta. We also offer a full concierge service. Access From passing through customs at Barcelona international airport, one can be in the Marina complex within ten minutes. As we are south of the city centre traffic hold-ups are very rare. Even better than travelling by road is the rail access to Casteldefells beach (playa) from the airport. Regular users of the local transport system usually purchase a T10 (ten Journeys) travel ticket, the cost ten euro per ticket. Using this ticket to travel is very simple. A journey by train from terminal two via El Pratt is where a train change is needed for Port Ginesta. This journey will cost one Euro. If you get the correct train at El Pratt, it will stop at Castelldefels Playa (beach) where you can hop on a bus or walk to the marina entrance. The short bus ride is included in the fair from the airport. Above are just a few reasons why Port Ginesta Barcelona should be on your list of marinas to visit if you are thinking of cruising the Mediterranean. Google Earth We have sold several yachts that travelled the globe from our Marina. When questioned by us as to why buy a yacht from this location, we sometimes get a simple reply. Port Ginesta ticks all my boating boxes.

Sailing New Zealand Northland Exploring Northland ! Stunning Bays and Lazy Days This week we enjoy a brief stopover in the Bay of Islands, before heading North to Northland! We explore Whangaroa Harbour and anchor in some stunning bays. We have a few 'rain enforced' lazy days and when the weather clears up, enjoy some beautiful conditions that are perfect for exploring. We clamber to the top of St Paul's Rock and bay hop down the rugged Kiwi coastline between Whangaroa and the Cavalli Islands , where Double Trouble is quite often the only boat in the bay. Just how we like it . We hike to the tallest point on Great Cavalli island, from which we have a stunning view back to the mainland. With the weather due to change, we seek a sheltered anchorage for the night. We then hoist our trusty Parasailor for another cracking downwind sail back south to the Bay of Islands, to begin preparations for our voyage to Fiji . We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! Fixing a home automation remote controlled smart home sockets. How to repair a Screwfix Energenie MIHO002 wall switch which wouldn't turn off. Its Stuck ON. Trying to fix a Home Automation Smart Socket. This system is controlled by my Raspberry Pi home automation. I couldn't turn off my desk light and realised the relay had failed inside the unit, so I bought some more relays and replaced it. The relay I used was BPD-SS-124DM from Conrad Electronics UK, they are £1.69 each. The relay was difficult to unsolder and resolder, my iron was not hot enough, but I used my hot air tool to melt the solder, worked great. I hope this video is useful, I enjoyed making it with no talking. "your switch is my command" www.mihome4u.co.uk Enjoy !

We take Peanut up a gorgeous little river and then sail to the north island, Tahaa and pop in to a couple of the beautiful bays. The water is deep so there is limited anchoring. Magnus fixes our scupper which has been broken since we bought Nutshell. We snorkel at the ‘Coral Garden’ which is one of the tourist places on Tahaa. We find a lovely little village and have a poke around. Thanks for watching and following along with our adventures. SAILING LIFE - Living on our Tiny Home in the Mediterranean - Ep. 24 In this episode of Sailing Zephyr my Dad climbs aboard Zephyr to cruise all the way from Malaga to our final destination (for a while), Valencia. We get my Dad stuck in as much as possible and we enjoy the laid back week of sailing along the Spanish Coastline. We spend the night in some beautiful anchorages along the way (all can be found on Navily App) and enjoy lots of snorkelling and hiking. Our longest stop is in a city named Aguilas, where we hide out from the strong Levante winds that push through. It gives us a chance to do some exploring and experience even more amazing food. Per usual boatwork - things pop up and require MORE WORK than anticipated, Ha! BUT, I do get to install some main lining panels,... I do some coving to protect some welds below the waterline and I did get to take a nice short break to go bird watching with a good mate 😀🦜 There were many reasons why, but the work stopped,... What is going on in the Java Sea? Illegal fishing. A sloppy-choppy swell. Chattering-clattering coming from our prop. Something really horrible in the water! Leaving Krakatoa and heading towards Jakarta hurtles us slap bang into civilisation and all that means... The passage to Batavia Marina in Jakarta was an uphill slog through washing-machine water. Along the way our prop began chattering, which meant Jamie having a look underwater. But with all the detritus swilling around it was not a job he relished. We meet the SeaMonkeys who are working hard to do something about the plastic and trash problem in our oceans. They've found a practical way of involving local communities in solving the problem. It's not just recycling and creating awareness of the plastic pollution in our oceans, their start-ups are providing work for local people. Tropical Paradise in Dominican Republic | 77 | Beau and Brandy Sailing We finally get to go where the locals go here in Barahona, Dominican Republic. We take a taxi to Playa San Rafael, but our driver made a little shortcut to TROPICAL PARADISE. I hidden little gem near the beach. Here in Playa San Rafael, the river meets the ocean. We were able to experience our first pebble beach and searched for larimar, a gemstone, that you can only find in the Dominican Republic. On our way back to the anchorage, we stop at the small larimar museum and pick up a bracelet for Brandy. We get a weather window to leave Barahona and head to our next anchorage, Boca Chica. Once we arrived into Boca Chica, we were surprised to find out that we were not able to anchor ANYWHERE in Boca Chica. So we had to go to the dock, for the first time since we left the states. We took advantage of the situation, edited videos, filled up water, did laundry and went to the market. We head out pretty quickly, since docks are really not in our budget. We had a pretty weather window and even though we wanted to stop a couple more places... finally make way for Puerto Rico. We check out and got our International Despacho for Puerto Rico, and we had to have a drug dog come onboard to finish the check out process. We pushed off the docks and said our goodbyes to the Dominican Republic. And set our sights and compass on Puerto Rico big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona Become a part of our PATREON crew and get: -captain's log of our sails -real time updates -access to Patron only live streams -exclusive access to extended videos (inc bloopers) https://www.patreon.com/beauandbrandy -OR- Send us a one time donation via PayPal to help with our video production! paypal.me/sailingsaoirse For more travel updates 📸 follow our instagram @beauandbrandy _________________________________________ our camera gear*: main camera: https://amzn.to/2lm2bSY action camera: https://amzn.to/2JMXRoa backup camera: https://amzn.to/2l8e3ry solar setup*: controller: https://amzn.to/2lm7hP7 panels: https://amzn.to/2jUoONN ______________________________________ music licensed from epidemic sound: Besitos - Timothy Infinite Espera - Timothy Infinite Playa - El Neon _____________________________________ *This channel is a participant in the Amazon Affiliate Program. "You’ve got to get in the dinghy, go ashore and look back and say ‘she’s beautiful’. I spent 2 years looking at all your competitors and I think at the end of the day: Oyster build the best boat." We're honoured to receive these glowing comments from the owner of the 60 foot Oyster 565-01 Panthalassa and are delighted with how she turned out. Heralding a new generation of Oysters, this 60 foot sailing yacht builds on the many accomplishments of the pioneering 56 and 575. Displaying our core design values and latest concepts her specification is informed by our larger yachts. From the refined systems that make her simple to sail shorthanded to the exceptional standard of craftsmanship and materials, everything has been considered for complete comfort and confidence at sea. The Oyster 565 has no limits: practical and well-provisioned for long distance sailing with excellent passage making speeds, she is equally happy cruising in coastal waters. Her powerful, easily-manageable sail plan means she is the ideal 60 foot sailboat for circumnavigation. We have to follow all the rules that come along with being in a foreign country including obtaining a "Despacho" when we leave a port which is the main reason that we are anchored off these beautiful beaches and are not allowed to get off the boat. We also have been anchoring and resting during the day while the trade winds are howling and as night approaches and the "night lee" calms things down we hug the coast and motor along to our next anchorage. Imagine getting that email in the middle of the ocean! Today's video is a little different as we review our strategy to deal with a potential Tropical Cyclone (aka Hurricane) development headed for our path. We are too far South to turn around, so should we go East to improve our wind angle when it arrives, or race to the finish to try and limit our time in the rough wind and seas? Although we don't quite agree, we decide on a strategy. Tell us in the comments section what you would have done! Although the seas were dead calm on Day 6, you could feel the tension building for Day 7... POSTING DAILY ON SOCIAL: https://www.instagram.com/the_sailing_family/ https://www.facebook.com/the-sailing-family-voyage/ ----------------- ABOUT US: WE ARE THE SAILING FAMILY! Welcome aboard. We are a family of five sailing around the world on our "dream boat," a performance catamaran named "Archer." Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world from the East Coast of the US to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created the first "sailing channel." But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with our kids. We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That's why we are "The Sailing Family." ABOUT EACH OF US: SETH learned to sail with his family on Lake St. Clair, Michigan when he was 12. Later in life he raced on multiple one-design boats in the San Francisco Bay and in Cape Cod. But the dream of sailing around the world really took hold during a bareboat vacation to the BVIs with his family when he saw other cruisers living and traveling full time aboard their sailboats. All he needed now was a willing partner and co-captain! In 2008, Seth & Elizabeth got married and for their honeymoon they bought a boat, named her "Honeymoon" and the rest is history! ELIZABETH was new to sailing when they started off, but she's always loved to travel. 25,000 nautical miles later she is now an accomplished sailor, and despite being prone to seasickness, she values the experiences she can share with her boys. During their first trip she came up with the idea of Vacay, a resort-wear clothing brand perfect for sailors as all her items are designed to mix-and-match to create multiple looks. 5 items can create up to 15 outfits! It's been so successful that she quit her job at GAP Inc and now works full-time from the boat to build her business. Check out www.vacaystyle.com and support her if you can. OUR BOYS were a little reluctant to leave our home in Mill Valley, CA, but now that we are in the groove we plan to keep going. They miss their friends but also appreciate the life experiences they are gaining. Hale loves baseball, Rhys is our Lego engineer and Pierce's nickname is "Pierce-Fierce" (as we think he's been raised by wolves). They're great kids and best friends, which makes living on a boat with them a true joy. OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red 2014 Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. THANKS for watching all. Please leave a comment to tell us what you think and let us know if you have questions. And Subscribe!
In this episode we are sailing from Panama City to Las Perlas up the Rias Capira. We explore the old and Newtown in Panama, show you a bit of their Carnival celebration and how the people live. We cruised up a river near Las Perlas, Boca Grande og show you the little town La Palma. We went to many jungle excursions and met some wildlife animals. In the end we take you with us on our sail trip to the Galápagos Islands. We got Redfood Bobbies onboard, had rescue mission in the middle of the ocean and crossed the equator. Our captain got Neptun, God of the See. Don’t miss this episode and enjoy....
