We finally started prepping the interior for paint! Shaun cut down hardware and power sanded them down. We got the girls together and tackled some sanding. Shaun pulled out the water tank and Brittany gave it a good scrubbing to hopefully rid the horrendous sulfur smell. We tested out our new chairs from West Marine and Brittany was surprised by what it takes to fix our rigging issues. Island hopping down the southern Tongan islands of the Ha'api group was so much fun, we get creative with the beach cooking, scavenging beach debris to make a smoker for our BBQ ribs. We also find the island that was the last stop for the Bounty before its famous mutiny and celebrate her one of our last tropical beach BBQ's for this season. We are full swing into planning and provisioning for our last leg down to NZ, this can be a treacherous stretch of ocean - perhaps one of the most difficult we will do in our entire journey - so we are taking it very seriously! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! Hello Seaplorers of Vela Nautica In this episode we sailed first time long distance since Vela Nautica got her refit. Unfortunately it was very rough and we encountered a storm. The tidal currents and the continental shelf in the bay of Cadiz made sailing very uncomfortable. Vela Nautica was thrown by crossing confused seas and overcoming waves. It became even more diffcult as more and more traffic came up over night and made navigating more tireing. It was not a fun sailing at all, but what they say is YOU ARE NOT A SAILOR IF YOU ONLY SAILED IN A CALM DAY. We where bound for Gibraltar, while considering to search shelter in the closer harbour of Cadiz we decided to go on and head for Gibraltar as we visited Cadiz before. And as always after rain there is sunshine and we droped anchor in sunny conditions under the ROCK OF GIBRALTAR. Went out sailing for 1hr and then to the boat apart to take home for winter

It's definitely one of my favorite crossing trips! We started with creature's hunting in Ambon, went through the history and aromas of the Spicy Islands in the Banda Sea, Sea Kraits (snakes!) in Manuk and ended up on the remote and untouched reefs of the Forgotten Islands. What else could one ask for?? A talented group of prographers, leaded by the renowned underwater photojournalist, Stephen Frink! What a honor having him onboard! We do our final preparations for leaving New Caledonia and go through the checking out procedure, visiting all of the government officials that we need to. We sail from Noumea and head towards the Gold Coast, Australia. I wake up after my watch to find Magnus extremely quiet, sitting on the floor looking down into the bilge. We have a leak! There’s automatic transmission fluid filling the bilge! It’s not long before the alternator starts to play up and so Magnus gives it the once over to find out what the problem is. In this episode you get an in depth look at the issues we have been facing with our hurricane damaged catamaran (2012 Lagoon 450). What appears to be fairly minor surface damage turns out to be rotten, wet, balsa core, and it ALL has to come out. You can see the heat exhaustion and frustration kick in as the problems get worse and worse. You can't always see the beauty each country has to offer by staying close to shore. Sometimes the best things are just a little further inland. While the boat sits in a marina in Ålesund, Norway, we rent a car for the day to explore the mountains, waterfalls, and an epic winding road. While we only had the one planned stop of Trollstiger Road, which winds down a mountain with 11 hairpin turns and a waterfall rushing through it...we also came across a lot of unexpected beauty. Долго собирался доделать видео с подъема Манюшки на Ланцероте. В итоге понял, что не доделаю. Поэтому выложу в том виде, на котором остановился 🙂 Мы уже третий раз поднимаемся в Арресифе. Здесь самый подходящий кран для нашего размера - 900 тонн. И удобно - рядом аж четыре огромных яхтенных магазина, больше, чем в любом другом месте. Так же, как и куча всевозможных сервисов. И по моторам и по такелажу и по корпусу и по металлам. На самом деле лучшее место на Канарах для ремонта или подготовки лодки к Атлантике. Тот же Лас Пальмас просто отдыхает по сервису. Когда мы первый раз сюда пришли, марина только-только открылась. Вся такая пафосная была - куча бутиков, крутых ресторанов, большой бассейн, детские залы. Даже был огромный футкорт с кухнями разных стран мира. Но при этом стояла совершенно пустая. А сейчас в марине ни одного свободного места нет. Но фудкорт открывают только когда туристический лайнер приходит. И часть бутиков закрылась. Энтропия, однако 🙂

I oktober 1941 upprättades ytterligare ett lägerområde, tre kilometer från huvudlägret. Det fick namnet Auschwitz II eller Birkenau, uppkallat efter den polska byn Brzezinka där det byggdes. Birkenau var stadens namn på tyska. Lägret fungerade som förintelseläger, med fyra större gaskammare och krematorium.
