The fourth video in the 360 series places you in the cockpit of VRED4 Björn ( Shaggy ) Evans during the transition from Cygnet to Phoenix Bend. In the video, you will hear VRED7 call GO! followed by 6!, which is the queue for VRED´s 4-5-8-9 transition forward to fly line abreast of VRED2 & VRED3. Phoenix is a very demanding maneuver that puts all pilots skills to the test, especially in the right reversal at the end!

For that we anchor in front of town, where we find ourselves in the middle of a festival week. After a chat with the city council we are allowed to make some nice drone shots for them as non of the residents ever saw the atoll from above. One of the provisions ferries arrives on the same day and together with our friends from SY YumYum we enjoy the time. While driving through the South of Portugal we discovered a unique fresh source, we had a nice swim in the refreshing water which was very welcome on a hot summer day. It truly looked like a Garden of Eden over there. We drove further and had a nice walk near a river on the Portuguese border. Life is slow there, and temperatures were high. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach in Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony with our 4 kids, just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. As our time here in Beaufort comes to a close, and before we continue our sailing adventure up the ICW, we had to get over to Rachel Carson Nature Preserve. Supposedly there are 35 wild horses on the island. The story goes that in the early 1900s a local man released his 5 horses on the newly formed island and over the years they have been slowly growing in numbers. The Preserve is 2,300 acres so our chances of finding any are pretty low, but that won't stop up from trying. In our final months of living in Qingdao, we finally saw signs of the advent of recycling; it started with large, complex and very fancy recycling machines showing up in random places practically overnight. Smaller versions of these were found on Laoshan Mountain hiking trails as well. Trash bins are all marked with recycle or other waste signs and in the malls, the trash bins are separated into 3 sections, but it's still voluntary to recycle. However, based on the local perspective, recycling will come into the home in the next half year and eventually be mandatory as it is in the Tier 1 cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. This video is our experience with recycling in late spring 2020. There may be neighborhoods and communities in Qingdao that are already recycling, but it has yet to become a universal policy. We hope that will happen soon! Additionally, we hope to see, concurrently, a push towards the elimination of single use plastic.
