Then I show how to mill the rub or spray rails from rough sawmill cherry. Next I pre-drill the rails and then steam them into shape. Finally I attach them with bedding compound and bronze screws. He tenido que descargar una APP para que lo reconozca, se llama: "Open Camera". Me pone muy nervioso el autoenfoque. Os pido disculpas por ello. Voy a indagar en esta APP a ver como logro que el enfoque se quede fijo en la pizarra. También quiero mejorar la iluminación. This educational video is suitable for everybody! Children aged 3-12 years old. Also adults and teenagers! We came across hundreds of Star Fish in the San Blas Islands, and just had to find out more about them. Here are the facts we found. Did you know Starfish is not their correct name? They should be called Sea Stars, as they do not have gills, scales, or fins like fish do. So they are not classified as fish. They are related to sand dollars and sea urchins, we saw lots of Sand Dollars and Sea Urchins in the same area, but not nearly as many as the Sea stars. They have no brain or blood. They use filtered sea water to pump nutrients through their nervous system. Although it is possible for them to live for as long as they don’t get eaten, most survive for up to 35 years. There are around 2000 different species of sea stars. Most live in tropical areas, but you can also find them in cold waters or even polar regions. They cannot survive in fresh water. They can regenerate, which means if they loose an arm they can grow a new one. But this takes a long time. It can take up to a year for a new arm to grow back. Pedicellaria are small pincer organs that are part of the skin covering the top of starfish. They're able to grab and hold things that are touching the surface of their skin. These organs have two main purposes: to clean or remove unwanted objects from their skin, such as sand or barnacles, and to capture food that then can be transferred to their mouths. However, this is not the most common method that sea stars use to hunt for dinner. They are carnivores and eat inside out. When they capture their prey, they have tiny suction cups to grab ahold of their food. Then their stomach exits their mouth to digest the food, and reenters their body when they are done eating. Sea stars move using hundreds of tiny tube feet located on their underside. The tube feet are filled with seawater, which the sea star filters through the “bumps” on their top side. Suckers on the end of these feet can be used to grab prey, or stick themselves to rocks or other surfaces. They also may have some sharp spines between their tube feet, to help protect them from getting damaged. They can move quicker than you may think. Tube feet also help the sea star to hold its prey, including clams, oysters and mussels. They can weigh up to 5kgs Their predators include certain fish species, sharks, manta rays and even other starfish! To help defend themselves they have evolved several effective defence mechanisms. As well as the their tough, prickly, armour-like skin, some have striking colours that camouflage them amongst plants and coral, or scare off potential attackers. If under attack some sea stars will even shed an arm in order to escape. Part of the skin covering starfish's topsides is made up of dermal branchiae. These are gill-like formations that are used to absorb oxygen from the water. Like most animals, their bodies require oxygen to function properly, but it's harder to get hold of when you're an aquatic organism. Essentially, dermal branchiae act like lungs and allow these creatures to breathe underwater. We loved seeing and learning about sea stars. Remember please don’t pick one up if you see it, as you may hurt it or put it in danger.

Stack meat on top of the onion layer, add your favorite stock to just cover the onions, cover, and put back on 250° smoker for 3 more hours. That is it, they are ready when tongs on a piece of the meat breaks it easily. Barrett and I escape to the Dirt of the East. It’s the first dirtbike - overland - trip of the season. We start it off by heading to a windy spot near Ocotillo, in the rocky desert, east of San Diego. It’s a remote dirt bike, overland, camp spot and we enjoy some good trails (Mortrero Wash and Carrizo Wash) and solitude. As INEOS Team UK and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli flew their second boats to Auckland, American Magic and the Defenders, Emirates Team New Zealand were busy flying around the race course area

The passage between St Kitts and St Barts is 32nm +/- and these gaps between islands can be brutally exposed. You get swells and wind unbroken, with fetch that crosses the entire Atlantic Ocean. But things were practically flawless this day. The swells were manageable and we were seeing an almost perfect wind angle for fast sailing. Yes, we overtook Brian in his Amel Maramu, but I have to tell viewers that it was a new boat to him and he hadn’t really had the sailing time to dial it in. It’s hard to imagine this if you haven’t ever bought a new (or used) sailboat, but at first you’re scared that you'll break something. The forces at play are insane. You have so much sail area up with a mid to upper mid-sized cruising sailboat, and you can feel the power surging through the rigging. There are new noises and you can’t be certain if these noises are expected or not. With time you discover that the boat is practically indestructible under normal conditions, and these conditions, the ones we're sailing in, were exactly what the designers of the boats had envisioned. So Wendy and I had no qualms whatsoever about loading up Talisman and letting her run. We were comfortable that all the rigging was in good shape and that our sails had seen much greater winds in the past. One thing I was confused about was that I felt that Jamesby, Brian’s boat, could probably have pointed higher, although with all boats you just lose boat speed if you point too high. But I always wondered if he wasn’t “steering to course” as opposed to “steering to nav”. His plotter and autopilot were older, and for us with our newer gear we’ve found that the computer is amazing at compensating for currents and leeway. But only if you’re steering to a waypoint, or steering to nav as Raymarine calls it. If you steer to a course, or heading, the boat will maintain that course but will ignore forces that are pushing it sideways. Wauw finally we reached the Perfect Sense - our Beneteau B57 after being away for 8 months - finally home. Now a new project starts: refit sailboat. It's going to be something special, and we aren't a sailing family on the road anymore, but soon living on a sailboat. A little bit sad for leaving Lilly our land rover, but looking forward to be living on the ocean again and being live aboard - cruising and sail around the world. We sail through both outer and inner part of the Stockholm archipelago where the central part feels like sailing in a forrest. Our cattain Litza a Devon Rex cat is checking out if Captain Anders is doing his job OK. We also get to experience a nordic bright night. The sailing in our home water the Baltic Sea is part of our preparation to sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

In this episode we get to experience a once in a lifetime moment with the mighty Mt. Yasur on the island of Tanna, Vanuatu. Visiting a volcano has always been something we hoped to achieve and while we were anchored at Port Resolution the weather cleared and presented the opportunity to do just that. It was an experience right from the start with a ride in the back of a ute all the way to the cultural centre at the base of the mountain, followed by a welcome ceremony by the village who live near by, then another ride up to the top of the volcano. We then walked to the very top to stare down into the crater and watch lava shooting out and landing on the sides. It truly was an assault on the senses as the eruptions made a thunderous sound which was felt through your entire body and sometimes caused your ears to pop with the change in pressure. The visual experience of seeing into the depths of the earth where the lava was boiling away, then turning to see the moon rising on one side and the sun setting on the other horizon was sensational. As we were guided to the furtherest viewing point we were hit by ash clouds and the sulphur smell and if we braved a moment to crack our eyes open slightly we could see the deep red and orange glow and feel the heat from the volcano. What an amazing experience, maybe one day we will do it again but for now we can re-live the moment through this video and share it with you. Enjoy! Yes we are the upwind boat, at least that is what it feels like. But we do get this little jib under control finally after I (Nicole) have an all out battle with it. We are also outta here for a while. We're off to the Tuamotus and beyond for cyclone season. And with these remote atolls and islands comes 2G internet or no internet. We will be filming a ton but unfortunately not uploading that much. Crossing fingers we can get one video out a month.
