While upgrading our full time live aboard sailboat, we planned ahead and spent the money up front to assure years of savings and freedom by harnessing the sun to fill our battery bank comprised of (3) Relion 300 ah batteries. It is our desire that this video will help you better plan your boat's upgrades so that you can live a better life on the water. WHY SO MUCH POWER - 2760 WATTS? Have you ever heard, "You can never have enough solar on a boat"? These are wise words that we took to heart in our planning upgrades taking advantage of both our 2015 Leopard 44 wide beam and large roof which provides ample space for a solar arch which is at the heart of our system and holds 4 out of 5 of our large and "LG Neon 2" 410W with the extra 410W panel mounted to our roof along with additional the (2) "LG Neon 2" 355W panels. All hard panels are highly efficient and long lasting backed with a 25 year warranty and generate A LOT of power which is essential to be self reliant and thrive on multiple cloudy / rainy days the with moderate to high power demands of air conditioning, dehumidification, water making and cooking. UK Sailmakers has become a dealer for the innovative Ewincher 2 electric winch handle. This simple devise is a true game changer for cruising and daysailing. The Ewincher 2 will make raising and trimming your sails easier. It will even pull a crewmember up the mast (many times on a single battery charge) as shown in this video. Unlike electric drills, the Ewincher works like a standard locking winch handle. It locks in the top of your winch and you hold it like a normal winch handle. The Ewincher is ergonomic and comfortable to use, much more so than other electric winching options. The Ewincher can be used to drive all the winches on your boat and it is much less expensive than a single electric winch. This clip shows the Ewincher taking me up my tall four-spreader rig. While two big guys jumping the halyard can get me up the mast faster, this handle will allow my wife to pull me up the rig when we go cruising. The Ewincher is not inexpensive, but it is well thought out, and much better than trying to get by with any kind of off the shelf electric drill.

Je te présente mes choix de balises pour notre sécurité à bord de Océane, cette video est en quelque sorte un tuto balise de secours. Ton vendeur doit te demander l’identifiant MMSI pour la programmation. Ensuite tu as juste à la declarer à l’ANFR. Fonctionne de manière gratuite avec les satelittes Copas-Sarsat et le centre de secours international 406Mhz + le CROSS. PLB: Balise personnelle terrestre et maritime, que tu peut porter sur toi avec ton gilet ou en randonnées ou bien lorsque tu t’aventure en milieu hostille. Utilise le réseau satelittaire Cospas-Sarsat comme la balise Epirb et l’usage est aussi gratuit. Le garmin Inreach, lui te permet d’envoyer un SOS et de discuter avec ton interlocuteur distant (famille ou service GEOS). ce service est payant et utilise les satellites IRIDUM. L’avantage de ces trois types de balise c’est que tu aura une aide à distance n’importe ou sur notre planete mais pour le fonctionnement de la plb ou epirb tu declanche, on te geolocalise sans connaitre la raison de ta detresse... La balise MOB AIS est à mon sens moins importante car d’une part il faut une personne à bord. D’autre part, l’alerte est donnée sur un périmêtre que de 10milles nautique autour de toi. Enfin, elle est réservée à un usage maritime. C’est un bon complement si tu navigue à plusieurs et que tu veux surveiller tes quarts. Il te faudra une VHF AIS ou un traceur avec recepteur de cibles AIS pour retrouver ta derniere position lorsque tu est tombé à l’eau. Je ne parle pas des radios VHF avec l’option ASN et du bouton distress ni des radio vhf portables avec mob qui generalement sont trop volumineuses pour la garder avec soit. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. Bereits 2018 starteten wir Richtung Wien, doch ein Motorschaden in der Straße von Messina zwang uns, den Überstellungstörn abzubrechen. New tell tales installed I was ready to go and sail but the morning was a bit of a right off, having struggled with no wind again all morning I opted for an early lunch and waited to see if the wind would pick up. After lunch it did pick up slightly, enough for a quick jaunt halfway down the lake, but I then turned back as it dropped again.
