Christmas special from us at Frida af Wisby We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. The sailing in our home water the Baltic Sea is part of our preparation to sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

Or is it #racer-cruiser? In Doheny’s long ownership, KAMALII participated in seven consecutive bi-annual Los Angeles to Honolulu ‘Transpac’ Races, finishing 2nd in class A in 1959. The present owners purchased KAMALII in #california and after major hull restoration, in 2013 cruised the Pacific to her new life in New Zealand where upgrading has continued in between use as a family #cruiser with the finest of #pedigrees.

In this episode, we make our way north through the Exumas and back to St. Petersburg. We didn't plan to go home for the summer, but we learned that plans are just an outline. Everything must be open for change. So we're flexible. On the way home, we raced some other sail boats, but they didn't know it. We caught and filleted a 24" Black Fin Tuna, parked in a very tight spot at Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale, upgraded to more power on the boat, and made our way through the Florida Keys home to St. Petersburg. Thanks for watching Chapter 1 of Wind Therapy Cruises the World. Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of sailing in the last 7 days. This is the "Sailing World on Water", December 24, 2021. These are the highlights of the sport of Sailing, in the last seven days. The Great Britain SailGP Team, are out of the Australian Sail Grand Prix, after a collision with the Japan SailGP Team, in the final race of the opening day. As the team onboard the British F 50 were focusing on closing down the gap to the American boat in the pre-start, they did not see the Japanese boat. That error resulted in a significant crash with both boats unable to continue racing, but thankfully no one was hurt. Under the rules the British team were out of the event, and offered their boat to the Japanese Team led by Australian, Nathan Outteridge. The Bacardi Winter Series, and Bacardi Invitational Regatta, are once again returning to Miami USA, for the 2021-2022 racing season. The season opener for 2021-2022 is Bacardi Winter Series Event 1, featuring racing for the J 70 and Melges 24 fleets, from 18-19 December 2021. These are highlights from Days one and two. Sam Davies, through her Initiatives Coeur sailing programme, has saved the life of 342 children. Her current boat has saved 215, and after a huge Vendee Globe, where she crashed out, repaired her boat, and set out to chase the fleet after repairs where completed in Cape Town. Now it's time for a new boat for her and hope for more children. Another worthy organisation in the IMOCA racing, is 11th Hour Racing, who are involved in cleaning up the oceans. Their two boat team had mixed results last year. They released their top 11 moments of 2021. The French racing Trimaran ACTUAL, was brought home to its base in Lorient, for much needed T L C. They are a "well-oiled" team who spring into action, and soon the boat is in pieces dockside. It's an impressive sight. Here is the confirmed route for the coming, "The World Race", starting from Alicante in 2022.

In La Rochelle moet ik helaas afscheid nemen van Jord en Felia. Na een paar weken zeilen langs de Franse kusten met familie is nu het moment gekomen dat ik verder mag varen met bemanning. Maar eerst ligt Eva nog bijna twee weken in La Rochelle, waar ik een paar video's en ondertiteling voor video's in elkaar draai. Het is veel werk en dat gaat vlot als je verder toch niets omhanden hebt. Dan komen Patrick en Simone aan boord. Peter heeft ze naar La Rochelle gebracht. Samen doen we de laatste klusjes voor het de tocht over de grote boze golf van Biskaje. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. La ultima regata del año fue en dobles con un recorrido de marcas fijas en la Rada La Plata. El viento fue calmando desde la largada hasta la primer boya y al mediodia se apagó por completo dejandonos comer fondeados. En la siesta volvio la brisa y pudimos completar el recorrido aunque ya mas retrazados que los que viraron la boya antes. Igualmente fue una jornada divertida y a pleno sol.

Se acaba la temporada y varamos el barco en el puerto de Karlovasi, en la isla de Samos.

Monterey is located in Monterey county on the southern edge of the Monterey bay founded in 1770 it functioned as the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico the city of Monterey is named after a similarly named municipality in the galicia region of spain the bay's name was given by sebastian vizcano in 1602 who anchored in what is now the monterey harbour until the 1950s there was an abundant fishing industry present here much of the marina is now given over to pleasure craft some radical carbon fiber works here sea lions and barefoot boaters beware a quick trip into town for some milk. The coastline is exposed to the full force of the prevailing northwesterly winds that blow for much of the year these winds regularly reach 20 to 25 knots with gusts in excess of 30 knots this combined with the full fetch of the ocean results in sizable wind waves being superimposed on even larger ocean swells coming down from the northern latitudes as a result things can get a bit lumpy but we have no such challenges today This red buoy is the monterey bay lighted bell buoy number four at night it shows a flashing red light the light sequence is a single flash every four seconds. #sailing #singlehanded #solosailing #trailersailer
