Another wind-less day at the lake so the outboard goes on and we enjoy a whole day getting up to all kinds. We start the day with some boat projects then I end up crashing my drone and breaking a rotor and the gimble (Again!!). I think this may be the end for this 6 year old drone. Erstens kommt es anders und zweitens als man es denkt. Eigentlich war unser Plan nach Ueckermünde zu unserem Heimathafen zu segeln. Aber auf dem Weg von Warnemünde nach Stralsund wurde unser Ruder immer schwergängiger. Nach Rücksprache mit der Werft, die das Ruder bearbeitete wurde entschieden, dass Chefin und Meister nach Stralsund kommen und versuchen, den Fehler zu beheben. Leider erfolglos und so blieb uns nichts anderes übrig, wieder mit dem Boot nach Wismar zu segeln, wo die Bruty wieder aus dem Wasser gekrant wurde. Was für ein bescheidener Saisonstart. Nichtsdestotrotz war es eine schöne Nachtfahrt bei top Bedingungen. Viel Spaß beim Schauen! Wir (Gitti und Jörg) freuen uns über viele Kommentare und viele Daumen hoch und natürlich über viele Abos. We have sailed Kejstral now for 6 years, and never once considered a Catamaran as our next step towards our ultimate goal of sailing round the world. That was until we were luckily enough to be invited to sail with Peter & Diane onboard Irradiance, a 40ft Fountaine Pajot Lucia. Our time onboard changed our thoughts instantly, so watch this space for some big changes afoot! Now that the deck is all in place its time to start taping deck joints overhead. I head down to Port Charlotte, FL to meet the Owners of Moon Dragon - a 1975 Wellington 47 Ketch. So this is a very unique arrangement that we have going on here. The Owners of Moon Dragon are allowing us to use their boat for a while. It'll save them the storage fees and allow us to get out there on the water again while we continue to search for a boat of our own. Sounds like a win/win kind of deal, but Moon Dragon needs a few major projects completed before we can head out. There's also a tight timeline that we are working against so we're unsure of whether we're going to be able to complete the necessary projects in time. Finding relicts of the prominent Medellin Cartel cocaine drug smuggling operations. Dinghy routes through pastel green-blue river mazes. Ive been using this holster for every training class ive taken and its showing. The keys to camp paint is to be random, but humans have a very hard time being random. So this video shows you how to paint a convincing camo pattern. Remember your environment, where you live or where you'll be going. Woodland camouflage doesn't work too well in the desert and vice versa. In this episode, we solo sail from San Pedro, CA to Emerald Bay, Catalina Island. Winds and seas are mostly calm, so we motor sail to our destination. Emerald Bay has a mooring field and a small anchorage behind Indian Rock. It can be a bit rolly at the anchorage and some have reported that holding is less than ideal. We drop a single hook in about 48 feet of water. There were no other boats in the anchorage except for a fishing boat which anchored for a couple of ours at a 150 meters distance from us. In this episode we explore the inside of the USS Wisconsin. Looking around we realise just how huge she is, not only in terms of size but also in terms of how much was needed to build her. Inside we find out how the troops really lived. Food certainly was not in short supply but it also became apparent just how much preparation and amount of food was needed to supply the very large number of crew. The cramp and warm conditions of the sleeping quarters really brought it home just what the troops went through We check out the gun turret and even we find it difficult to get in and out! We get caught in a major downpour and show you just what a supermarket shop can turn into - a real time-consuming and messy experience. It was a beautiful departure from Key West, and a couple hours later, we found ourselves being stared down by a quick storm that lasted maybe 15 minutes. Normally not a problem but the mainsail got stuck and the breaker tripped on the headsail furler. We hove-to and waited for the storm to pass, and got back on our way! I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I meet up with the boys on Isla Viveros to try and hunt all sorts of animals. It does not look like I am the natural hunter but luckily, one of the boys caught us something edible for dinner.
