Considering a van with a division between the cab and the living space? A van with a wall like this provides a few things and I have added several essential features that you may like to see! An access door allows for movement between the cab and the back of the van. Window cutouts allow you to see out the front of the van when living in the back and allow for visibility while driving out the rear and side windows. Fold up window covers provide privacy and keep in the light at night. A cutout in the wall allows for the 12v fridge to be stored away where the passenger seat once was located. Since this is a one-man van, a passenger seat will be needed very infrequently. The seatbelt is left in place for the occasional use. After months of projects, we finally put the tools away to make our break for Catalina Island where we planned to rendezvous with our friends aboard SV Esprit. This was an exciting trip for us... it was our first-night passage without additional crew, we almost lost our boat in a storm, and really tested our quick thinking skills as sailors. Plus we had a lot of fun soaking up the sunshine and snorkeling for hours on end. Little did we know this would be our last sailing trip of the year before we flew east to Annapolis, then got our hands dirty in the boatyard upon our return... but more on that soon :) Thank you all for the support! Most challenges of the cruising lifestyle can be overcome through knowledge and preparation. But when it comes to missing our families back home, there's nothing like a little one-on-one time. Enjoy some home cooking with Ma (Nick's mom) and the epic Ribbon sandbar with Megan's mom and Mark. Ma’s Apricot Upside Down Cake Preheat oven to 325F Melt butter on stove in the same pan you'll put in the oven - I used a standard stainless pie dish. Vento da est nord-est nella mattina ci ha spinto per due ore di vela con raffiche fino a 18 nodi e la barca ha raggiunto velocità di tutto rispetto per le sue dimensioni, portandoci fino a più di 6 nodi. Tutto sotto il sole, con temperature piacevoli e l'avvistamento dei delfini, hanno reso questo trasferimento della barca a vela oscar, una giornata di vela d'inverno da incorniciare. It's all about paddles and oars today! I complete the boat hook and then epoxy up the new paddles I made to fill up any gaps in the joins. The Seahopper's Oarlocks get a good clean and then I start to make some custom made 3D printed Oar sleeves for the oars.
