Getting away from our usual habitat of marinas and shipyards, Steve and I went inland for a change in scenery to talk about our favorite subject - boats. Those who know us are aware we can talk and talk, which we did on a lovely afternoon. This is the first of three sessions we filmed. Depois de reiterar por muitos anos que nunca teria um animal na minha casa, uma cadela pariu na porta da minha residência e fui "obrigado" a cuidar da mãe e de dois filhores. Não gostava desse bicho. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Como sou aventureiro por natureza, resolvi criar um desafio: sair de Morrinhos, GO, e chegar até Paraty, RJ, onde mora minha filha. Segeln vor der Haustür Mit der FeO auf der Schlei und der Flensburger Förde Bei einigen Törns der vergangenen Jahre ging es nicht um Meilen in fernen Revieren, wir segelten sozusagen vor der Haustür. Die Schlei und die Flensburger Förde standen am Ende im Logbuch der FeO. Das Abendlicht fällt auf den verwunschene Lotsenhafen Schleimünde mit der GIFTBUDE, vor der man sich aber nicht fürchten muss. Sahen die alten Schiffer und Lotsen noch Licht auf der Insel – so sagten sie „Door gift dat noch wat“. Daher stammt wohl auch der gruselig Name Giftbude. Obwohl ARNIS in keinem Maße die üblichen Voraussetzungen für eine Stadt erfüllt. Sie ist eine. Nur knapp 300 Einwohner leben auf einer Fläche von weniger als einen halben Quadratkilometer. Nach Lindaus und Missunde laufen wir den Stadthafen von Schleswig an. Unser Ziel ist die alte Fischersiedlung HOLM. Sie entstand um das Jahr 1000 auf einer kleinen Insel vor der Stadt. Auf der Rücktour treffen wie den Schleifischer Mathias und dann geht es mit einem Spezialmanöver über das flache Steinriff vor Kalkgrund nach Flensburg, wo die FeO von einem Seehund begrüßt wird.

After some time living on Squalo we inspected the water tanks and what we found was not at all impressive. I wish we had done that sooner. We couldn't believe we were drinking such filthy water! Maria authorities has asked us to move. Apart from the sea trial when we were shown the boat, we didn't really have a chance to manoeuvre her ourselves. It is known that, being a long fin keel boat reversing can be tricky, she can decide to go wherever she feels like on the day. You just have to go with it :) Although we didn't go too far, see how it went for us.

Best Wreck Dive in Bali. Kubu Wreck.. With the USAT Liberty wreck being such a popular dive site in Bali, Boka Wreck (aka Kubu Wreck) is often overlooked. The ghostly upright view of the wreck divers get as they approach, is in itself worth a dive. Only a few minutes north west of Liberty Wreck is the relatively new wreck at Kubu (aka Boga Wreck). This ship was purposefully sunken in 2012 just off the coast to form an artificial reef. The vessel is 65m long, the top of the bow is 17.5m deep and the top of the stern is 35m deep, and is still completely intact. Luckily the supporting ropes that keeps the wreck upright is still in relative good condition, so it should stay that way for a few more years. Once the ropes brake, the wreck will surely fall over onto it's side. Next time you are in Bali, do not give this wreck a miss. Nobody how long the wreck will stay in this good condition. We spent the night in a shelter winter time -8 degres by the bonfire at the SoTa spot. Got to the same SoTa top for the second time this year since batterie died last time. This time was a sucsess and a nice night in a warm sleepingbag I got as present at X-Mas.
