We visit Old San Juan, including the Spanish forts. We take a beach day at Condado Beach in San Juan. Get a glimpse of the primary places to rent a boat slip in Fajardo as we tour three marinas in Fajardo including Puerto Del Rey Marina, Sunbay Marina, and Chico Marina. Old San Juan is a beautiful remnant of history and is a must-see for anyone who enjoys historical sites and old cities. Countries fought for control of this tiny, yet strategic island for centuries. Generations of soldiers have lived and worked within the forts. Visitors today are as inspired by these stories as they are by the beauty of the architecture and the ingenuity of design and engineering of this World Heritage Site. Condado Beach is a very popular spot in San Juan for tourists craving a Caribbean beach resort experience with all the vibrant life of a city just steps away. It attracts a diverse crowd, from families to famous celebrities. Puerto Del Rey Marina is the biggest marina I've ever visited. It also has extensive amenities on site, including restaurants, marine stores, butcher shop, game room, and more. The biggest thing that stood out to us at Sunbay Marina was the lack of protection from the rougher waters, and alot of full dumpsters. Unfortunately, first impressions count and Sunbay did not make a great one for us. Chico Marina seemed more upscale and boutique than Puerto Del Rey, with fewer practical amenities available. However, it was cozy and seemed like a great spot to keep a boat. Plus it has Cinco Nudos (Five Knots), a local restaurant with a delightful menu. The place in question is Swale Marina, which is dug out of the ground at the end of Conyer creek. And although I'm not really selling it with the description it is a beautiful place and I would recommend anyone that draws less than say 1.8m takes a visit. When we did the sea trial, the engine a Perkins 4.154 was over heating, we hoped it would be an easy fix, so in this video we will show you how to fix an over heating engine. First stop - Elba Island. We spent five days on the island at three different anchorages near Procchio, Portoferraio and Porto Azzurro. It's not too hard learning to love all things Italian: the history, the architecture, the language and the food! We were able to explore some of the amazing Elba beaches in our Outremer 5x. You don't feel too bad for Naploleon being exiled to this island after seeing its amazing beauty!

We sail up to Warderick Wells in the Bahamas Land and Sea park for a few days, only to abandon our plans after a really rocky night at anchor. The Highwayman’s hitch is a quick-release draw hitch used for temporarily securing a load that will need to be released easily and cleanly. The hitch can be untied with a tug of the working end, even when under tension. The highwayman's hitch can be tied in the middle of a rope, and so the working end does not need to be passed around the anchor when tying or releasing. The knot is three bights that each successively lock the previous one: * The first one, in the middle of the rope, wraps around the pole, * The second one (called the toggle bight) is a bight of the standing part locking the first one so the pole is held tight, and * The third one (called the slip-tuck) is a bight of the working part (slack end) locking the second bight. The locking actions are achieved by reaching through each bight to pull the next one through. The knot has to be finished by pulling the standing part tight to ensure that it holds. Until the knot is tightened and properly dressed, the highwayman's hitch has little holding power. The highwayman's hitch is susceptible to capsizing when the pole is substantially larger than the rope diameter. The failure occurs because the second bight sees the force of the standing part, but is held in place by the working part, which has no tension. When capsizing, tension on the standing part pulls the second bight through the first bight. This drags the slip-tuck through, and will release the hitch if the third bight isn't long enough. Notre voyage 2021 se termine. Nous quittons Marseille pour rallier Martigues, notre port d'attache.
