Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Nach einem Jahr Pause sind wir nun wieder auf der ORIZON. Nachdem wir im Herbst schon einen Großteil der anstehenden Arbeiten erledigt hatten, sind die restlichen Arbeiten schnell gemacht und so können wir bereits nach ein paar Tagen ins Wasser kranen. Die erste Ankernacht und der Tag danach im ambrakischen Golf werden gleich zum eingewöhnen, denn bei fast 40 kn Wind ist es eher ungemütlich. The cove is 600 meters (2,000 ft) long, bounded by the headlands of Arıburnu to the north and Little Arıburnu, known as Hell Spit, to the south. Приехали на Корфу на пароме из Игуменицы. В первый день взяли экскурсию на городском автобусе по столице острова Керкире. Посетили мышиный остров, венецианскую крепость и погуляли по старому городу... На второй день закончили прогулки по столице. После обеда взяли машину на прокат (на 3 дня) и поехали в Палеокстрицу. Добрались за 40 минут. Взяли экскурсию на лодке по близлежащим пляжам, гротам и пещерам... Посетили известный бар на берегу "La Grotta" После чего заглянули в монастырь "Живописный источник" (рядом с пляжем). После монастыря купались на местном пляже. К вечеру поехали на смотровую площадку "Bella Vista", которая находится в деревне Лaконос на высоте 400 м. над уровнем моря. Все обзорные экскурсии непременно туда заезжают. Шикарный вид сверху на Палеокастрицу. Рядом с обзорной площадкой находятся пара кафешек. После смотровой площадки поехали в "Golden Fox" - таверна и гостиничный комплекс сразу же по дороге за смотровой площадкой "Bella Vista". Hа ночь остановились в "Golden Fox" На следующий день после завтрака поехали дальше на Север в деревню Паги. По пути заехали в крепость Анжело Кастро (находится на вершине горы - вид панорамный на побережье - БОМБА !!!) Продолжили путь в направлении деревни Паги. Там в свое время проходили семки фильма о Джеймс Бонде "Только для твоих глаз" с участием Роджера Мура. Посетили таверну СПИРОС, которая. также фигурирует в фильме. Хозяин таверны снимался в массовке фильма (но он умер 30 лет назад в возрасте 60 лет и таверной управляет его дочь. Сделали совместное фото - на видео она постеснялась засветится). Пообщался с работником таверны. Кроме того на улице встретил местного жителя в доме которого был Роджер Мур (воспользовался тогда его туалетом) Пoсле деревни Паги поехали в Сидари - населенный пункт в 12 км от Паги на Север. Проплыл по каналу любви Следующая остановка - населенный пункт - Касиопи. Прибыли туда под вечер. Шикарная бухта, кафешки, ресторанчики. Погуляли, поужинали, остался на ночь в Касиопи... Утром нужно было возвращаться в столицу острова так как на следующий день после обеда надо было возвращать машину, а нам еще надо было посетить известный дворец Ахиллион... Там так же проходили семки фильма о Джеймс Бонде. После посещения дворца целый день провели на одном из пляжей Керкиры. Nach einer ruhigen Nacht auf Flakfortet legten wir bei strahlendem Sonnenschein wieder ab, die Reise Richtung Süden in die Heimat sollte weitergehen! Die Segel mussten anfangs noch unten bleiben, wir hatten fast völlige Flaute - und Gegenstrom! Was sich aber zum Glück bald geben sollte. Unter der Einflugschneise des Kopenhagener Flughafens frühstückten wir noch bei ruhiger See, fuhren vorbei an einer Gruppe jugendlicher Standup-Paddler und segelten schließlich aus dem Øresund heraus. Eigentlich wollten wir nochmal ankern und ein wenig weiter kommen, aber durch die Gegenströmung im Sund hatten wir soviel Zeit verloren, dass wir beschlossen einen Kurs nach Rødvig abzusetzen. Cuando pensábamos que la fase final (pintar) ya estaba a la vuelta de la esquina, siempre salen imprevistos que lo atrasan todo. No hay nada más estresante que ver como van pasando los días y los planes se van retrasando. Pero a base de echarle más horas, poco a poco fuimos recuperando tiempo perdido y conseguimos dejar el casco listo para imprimar 5 días antes de nuestro regreso. También nos quedamos a medias con el timón, ya que ciertas piezas que pedimos a China no llegaron a tiempo. Pero al menos pudimos decidirnos por qué método usar para frenar el timón al final de su recorrido. Ya queda menos!

In this video I cover the final sanding, applying totalboat structural repair putty, and some home made fairing compound. I use totalboat gelcoat and some silica to make my own. It's an alternative to poly fair if you either don't have any or are worried about sanding through. Spraying gelcoat can be a pain, but done in layers you don't have to worry. I'll show you in this video how to do it the right way. Repairing fiberglass cracks can be intimidating but trust me boat restoration is easier than you think. Ive done a few videos looking at spraying gelcoat, but this is the first one I've shown spraying a hull on camera.
