We are masting our sailing boat and mounts our sails before we sail back to our summer harbor.
================================ The famous hero Achilles, as a child, was predicted that he could live a long but inglorious life, or die heroically at the walls of Troy. His mother Thetis did not want her son to die so early, and she decided to make him invulnerable. To do this, when he was born, she dipped him into the sacred waters of the underground river Styx. At the same time, she held Achilles by the heel. Now Achilles could not be hit by a weapon, but the heel, which was not touched by the magical waters of Styx, remained vulnerable. Many years later, Achilles went with the Greeks on a campaign against Troy. During one of the battles, the god Apollo (who had been insulted by Achilles earlier) sent an arrow of Paris right into the heel of Achilles. The wound, although small, was fatal. =============================== Ничего не продаю Ничего не покупаю Пожертвований не прошу Снимаю видео от души и для души I am not selling anything I am not buying anything I am not asking for donations either Shooting video exclusively for fun

One of our first sailing trips of this season in April 2022 on our new sailing yacht. If we can sail, we are on board when we can. Aboard Windfinder, our Hallberg-Rassy 48 Mk II with hull number 81. She is built in 2016. After a long "sail-less" winter season, we can finally sail again. How we have missed this. On the video clip, 10 minutes of relaxed sailing on the Markermeer / IJsselmeer. Sometimes a whole day, or several days, of sailing looks like this to us. We like to take you with us. We love to share this piece of our life with you. Thank you for still following us, after a long season of no sailing. Love, Niels & Marloes
** NOW SOLD * The Archambault 40 is superior racer / cruiser blend. This is an easily driven, fast hull built for versatility, performance, and fun. With mostly new standing rigging in 2018, along with new main and jib from Doyle, this is a club race ready package. ‘Penske’ was just anti-fouled in March 2022. The Joubert/Nivelt design brief was clearly to build a racer that could cruise comfortably. This is obvious by the cockpit seating and the interior design and fit out with private forward cabin, enclosed large head, removable saloon table, practical galley and exactly the right amount of wood. This example goes further by having almost all options ‘ticked’ on original order – fridge, electric windlass, holding tank, and hot water. In addition, her owners have improved on the package further by adding a furler, auto-pilot, and electric toilet. There are two kites, four headsails, two poles plus a carbon retractable bow sprit. ‘Penske’ is available for inspection on Pittwater, contact YOTI for further details on info@yoti.com.au or (02) 9960 6222.

Upon arriving at Pobassoo island we head ashore to check it out. We have never seen such amazing rock formations. It’s hard to make progress along the beach because there is just so much to see. We leave Pobassoo and make our way north to Cotton Island where Magnus takes Wendy out in Peanut down a beautiful creek to do a spot of fishing… her first time. We then head up to Wigram Island for the night and the following day we make our way to the Gulgari Rip or Hole in the Wall as it is known and, if we’ve done our calculations right, the passage through will go without incident! This time on Sailing Intermission Karen leaves for a trip to New Orleans with a friend. We are frustrated that we still don't have our gooseneck repaired, but it's getting close. Glad that we are making progress in getting the second AC installed. Also, met some great neighbors. We're installing our second air conditioner in the aft sail locker. This means building a shelf, figuring out the below waterline pump placement, running ductwork, and hooking up to power. Fortunately we have a 10 gauge wire run from a dedicated Paneltronics breaker all the way back. We're using a 500 gph pump for a 12,000 BTU Webasto reverse cycle AC because it needs to push water through a 19 foot hose to reach the unit. We figure by the time the water gets to the Webasto it will have at least 300 gph of flow. Our mizzen gooseneck is coming along and the machinist is working on a 316 stainless part needed to complete the project. Apparently he grew up on a sailboat and is perhaps giving us priority. We love our subscribers❤️. If you haven't already, please subscribe and help our channel to grow. After those 3 years we know better, so it was time we took on a new challenge: we added a little crew member to our boat family, meet Levi! Our goal is to circumnavigate the world on our 36ft Beneteau as a famliy. Sailboat life is super different from land life. It is fantastic and pretty rough at times. And now with little Levi, it often is even harder and more fun. see the little things tries to FIND HAPPINESS BY DOING THINGS THAT ARE HARD. Join us on this journey and let's find happiness together! Join our Patreon family today - every little bit helps us with the build. http://www.patreon.com/mjsailing Spring is definitely in full swing here in Maryland, which means we are having a lot more beautiful days to knock projects out. One item we've been working at on and off for the past two months, is our water tanks. A few episodes ago you'll have seen that Matt began to fair them out with an epoxy based primer, but what's next? The steps seem simple, but boy have there been a lot of them. After the fairing was a coat of primer - but we couldn't complete all of the tank? Why? We've decided to enlarge them! So after the next step of bonding on more foam, we cut the lids and prepare them for our very cool Vetus inspection ports. Then, it's adding our 90 degree flanges (pretty sure I say it right this time) onto the edges of our tank, and once that's done, we can bond on the lid. And there we have the water tanks for our boat! Lighter than plastic, and because they're bonded in, they now become structural too. Plus, one of our real time updates to our Patrons from back on March 10th. We hope you enjoy! Much love from Annapolis! SAILING South for Eleutheran ADVENTURES in the BAHAMAS - Sapphire Blue Hole + Preacher's Cave Ep. 63
SAILING South for Eleutheran ADVENTURES in the BAHAMAS - Sapphire Blue Hole + Preachers Cave Ep. 63 We said goodbye to the Abacos and sailed 50 NM to Eleuthera! The wind was a bit tricky; we were sailing south and the wind was southeast so it was an upwind sail with a bit of tacking. Thanks to the daggerboards on the Seawind 1600 catamaran, it wasn't a problem! We anchored just outside Spanish Wells, on St. George Cay, right next to Eleuthera in gorgeous aquamarine water. The island of Eleuthera is made of limestone, a porous surface, and over the years a number of blue holes and caves have been created. We hiked to the Sapphire Blue Hole to swim for a bit, then headed over to Preacher's Cave to see where the first English settlers, known as the Eleutheran Adventurers, called home. They sailed from Bermuda in search of religious freedom and after shipwrecking on nearby Devil’s Backbone reef, they found shelter and held sermons in this cave. They named the island after the Greek word Eleuthera, meaning freedom, and began a new life in the Bahamas. We had never been to Annapolis and we were really excited to get there, but FIRST we had to get our Crusair A/C fixed while at the Bay Bridge Marina. After a night at anchor in Whitehall Bay, we sailed over to the marina and checked in. Thankfully, the A/C repairman had all the necessary parts to get us up and running. The next morning we left for Annapolis. We only had one day to play in Annapolis due to our scheduled haul out, but we made the most of it. We visited the USNA, walked the town and ate at Chick & Ruth's Delly. That was some amazingly good food! Annapolis is an INCREDIBLE town and we were happy to know that we would be returning for the Annapolis Boat Show. It made our quick visit more palatable. #sailing #sailboat #sailingprojects #whitehall #annapolis #baybridgemarina #baybridge #maryland #chick&Ruthsdelly #cruisair NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Isla Tigre, a San Blas island with a population of fifteen hundred is celebrating Independence Day and they are happy to have us participate . We spend a day at the festival which begins with a reenactment of the revolution that secured for the Guna people their independence from the Panamanian authorities on February 25, 1925. An early rain shower does not deter these amazing people who've practiced many times before today and after a vibrant morning ceremony we head into the Grand Casa. A large Guna Yala flag flies which features a swastika, an ancestral symbol dating back long before the Nazis adopted it. We watch as a group of male elders grapple with the difficult decision of how best to deal with mounting conflict and at the same time enjoy the children spectators who have great fun playing with our cameras. Back outside the conflict mounts and becomes violent. So lifelike we chose not to show everything. The emotions are palpable and the intensity builds to a climax but soon enough the Guna have their day. Sneaking and ambushing the outsiders and theirs is a victory! Hard won independence from Panama. Next we have lunch at the cafe - Our first time eating out in three months. Then we tour the island and learn about power usage - very little electricity exists - and admire the huts built from bamboo. We learn the Guna are a resourceful people and see the school, a tienda and the bathrooms. Plus a pig farm! The evening is the 'best for last' and we watch the best Guna Yala band in all the islands. The kids dance and play and we join them, enjoying some truly fantastic music and time with the locals. The people seem so content and it is such a joy to participate in a day that holds so much meaning for them. 0:00 Intro 1:07 Invited to attend the Revolución Celebration 1:57 Recap 2:27 The Guna Yala 3:53 The Festival Begins 5:14 The mood darkens 10:24 Jubilant Triumph 11:08 First meal out in months 12:00 Tour of the village 17:31 Party Time! -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Enjoying our channel?
