Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Follow us on Noforeignland https://www.noforeignland.com/boat/fridaafwisby?sid=6095395836919808&tc=1674678682264 Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.

We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. Sustainability: Thinking about what we do today and how it will affect next week, next year, the next decade, and so on. It’s the recognition that we’re all part of a living system and that everything we do impacts the world around us. In other words, we want to be out in the world living and exploring for as long as possible. Both in terms of not having to worry about our resources or our habitat disappearing. It's practical, not political. And we know we're not the only ones seeking this kind of freedom because we have you! Our community of like-minded people we've been having this exact conversation with for the past decade. It doesn't matter if you are in an RV, Tiny House, Sailboat, Motorboat, Homestead, Farm, Ranch, or Off-Grid Island Resort...at the end of the day, we've all connected over our love for nature and our desire to be in it. This new HH44 is the continuation of that conversation and desire. This is not the ultimate, all-time perfect eco boat or zero-footprint anything. Not even close. It’s the best option that we could find working with viable, available solutions. It’s the type of innovation we want to support, encourage, and see way more of. We're super stoked about getting into the world of Performance Cruising and hybrid electric sailing with our new HH44 catamaran. HH catamarans have a reputation for building the best luxury performance sailing catamarans in the world. And now this is a brand-new boat designed from the ground up with solar, hydrogeneration, and electric motoring in mind. Add in our rain capture system and we have the ability to be off the grid and explore incredibly remote and uninhabited areas for months and months at a time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. In this episode I make a crazy discovery which has me walking away with over $4k cash! But we then sail to Witches rock, Costa Rica, where one of our crew has a very scary incident in the surf, which was a sturdy reminder for all of us to NEVER underestimate the sheer power of the ocean. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!! During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time.
We are getting ready to leave the USA for 6 months in the Bahamas and I found this problem with my port side Yanmar engine sail drive. It appears someone drilled a 2 1/4 inch hole in the sail drive housing and sealed it with a plug. The plug is failing and needs to be replaced but I also need to know why someone would do this and what do I need to do to properly maintain it? If you are able to help.... LEAVING Our SAILING CATAMARAN in Search of RAW WILDERNESS in the GALAPAGOS | Harbors Unknown Ep. 82 Did you see when we sailed to the part of San Blas most cruisers don't go to? Check it out here! https://youtu.be/gqa7Iw7vvRA Is it still possible to find wildlife in its purest form without humankind’s interference? We wanted to find out. So we headed to the Galapagos, the inspiration for Darwin’s On the Origin of Species. Normally we sail places but we decided to fly primarily because our dog Yoda is not allowed at all. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of flying vs sailing to the Galapagos in an upcoming video. Upon arrival we learned 70% of the indigenous plant species have been killed, and animals including the Giant Tortoise, Marine Iguanas, Blue Footed Boobies, Green Sea Turtles, Galapagos Sea Lion & Penguins, are all endangered. We began to wonder if the Galapagos would be the pristine wilderness of our imagination or if we were too late. Watch now to join us on our first adventures in the Galapagos! Thanks so much for joining us this week! If you enjoy the video give it a thumbs up, leave us a comment down below and be sure to subscribe to our channel. A huge thank you to our Patrons, we are so grateful for your support! If you’d like additional content & real time updates consider joining the Harbors Unknown community on Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/harborsunknown If you're new here, Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin & Fabio Potenti & our dog Yoda. We're a small family living aboard our catamaran, Wanderlust, sailing to Harbors Unknown. Exploring the world, connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how great food can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources. Seeking to balance the desire to explore and travel to beautiful, remote locations while leaving no footprint, minimizing the Hawthorne effect of the observers who change the environment she or he observes. We hope to inspire people and showcase the possibility of living an alternative lifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment, all while keeping it real. Sharing the trials and tribulations of living off-grid, acknowledging the discomfort of detoxing from the modern world, finding pleasure in the subtleties of nature and joy in simplicity. Attempting to understand what makes the world tick and tock but also trying to gain a deeper comprehension of ourselves and identify what will satisfy that hunger for further exploration, for purpose. We have set off on our voyage sailing around the world, exploring the beautiful waters of South Florida, the Florida Keys, Bahamas, the US East Coast, and Panama. Heyy Coco'ers! This episode we ride out a windy week in Nassau - Bahamas so we use the time to enjoy a couple take-aways (thanks Atlantis Hotel!), make the most of the internet signal and get creative while we're stuck on our boat! (don't get us wrong, we were very happy to be 'stuck' in a protected anchorage in the Bahamas!) While we're stuck onboard, we show you how we make our water from the sea, provision while at anchor, and with a little mad rush to the head, we go a little stir-crazy and decide to pimp our spare cabin.. creating another room for us to use at times when we haven't got any guests in that cabin!! By the way, while we are still a little overwhelmed with work in our current life we have decided posting every other week, for the time being, will be more manageable for us! Thank you for following 😊 ♡ Welcome to our Sailing Vlog - Sailing Coco! After 7 years of renovating boats, we restored our Snapdraggon 27, sailed our 33ft Colvic Countess Monohull around the Med and then left London for good once we bought a Lucia 40 Fountaine Pajot Catamaran! We're excited to share our adventures with you and please click the Subscribe Button and Bell if you would like to be notified when we post our latest video! Or comment underneath! Medical emergencies, hospital and hikes!! Being in a foreign country and having a medical emergency was something we always knew was a real possibility but in reality, it's a whole lot more daunting. It started out as a 'non emergency'. As anyone that's watched our videos over time will have noticed the crazy amount t of.weight that Teagan has lost in this past year. she has Thyroid issues so we decided to head of to Trinidad General Hospital to get some blood work done and check levels etc. The Port of Spain General Hospital is a regular government hospital, so it comes with crazy wait times, large number of patience and no flashiness of a private hospital. The staff are friendly and it took the better part of the day but we left knowing what we needed to know and new meds for Teagan. The day Teagan and I went into the hospital, Robin's left ankle had started to swell a little and seemed a little red. He insisted he was fine and thought he might just have a spider bite or something. By the time I got back from the hospital with Teagan. the swelling was worse, inflation worse and his ankle was now hot to the touch. Deep vein thrombosis immediately came to mind, but Robin, being Robin, was insistent that he was fine and would be fine by the next day. By the next.morning it had worsened but he was sticking to his story although I could now see he was also in pain. By day 3, it had gotten so bad that his skin was pulled tight, it was glowing red and so incredibly hot! he was now in so much pain that he relented and said we should go to the hospital. We went via a very nice Health Centre, they also suspected a DVT, but at the very best, a bad cellulitis case that he would need intravenous antibiotics for and suggested we get to the main hospital asap. Our first hospital visit was around an 11 hour expedition, during this time he had so many tests, ecg, x-rays and ultimately a doppler, that at 7pm confirmed that on top of the cellulitis in his ankle, he also had a deep vein thrombosis. The Dr's weren't impressed that he had left it for so long before going in and confirmed what we had been telling him for days, that had part of that blood clot moved and ended up in his lungs, as a pulmonary embolism, it could have been fatal. It was a huge reality check, very frightening couple of days. the Dr had originally wanted to admit him but Robin insisted he wanted to go back to the boat and promised me he would do everything he was supposed to without argument, so after intravenous antibiotics earlier in the day and then anticoagulant shots in the evening, we started the trip home, getting back to the boat around 10pm. The boat was in Chaguramas, about 40 minutes out of Port of Spain. Through all this, we have become seasoned taxi and bus travellers. There were many more hospital trips over the next 2-3 weeks, a CT scan to investigate the possible cause of the DVT,med collections and for a check up, now that he's on daily anticoagulants for at least 3 months. The lesson taken from all of this is that we now appreciate that a medical situation could stop ones dreams of cruising at anytime, every minute is to be even more appreciated than we already do and that we are so grateful to the Trinidad hospital system, where he got caring, thorough care and treatment, even as a foreign national without them even questioning where we were from. We would also like to thank Yvanna and Peake Yacht Services for being so incredibly accommodating with having the Peake shuttle ferry us to and from the hospital, through rain and floods someday, so many times through this ordeal. also to Ryan, the private taxi owner, who came through to pick us up at 5am on numerous occasions so that we could get to the hospital before the early morning crowds. Meeting Wolfy, a local Trinidadian that follows our channel and reached out to us, has also been an absolute highlight of our stay here in Trinidad. Out of the blue, he arrived to meet us with 2 amazing bottles of Angostura Rum as welcome gifts to Tinidad. The day we met, he bundled us into his car and took us for a quick tour of the nearby area and beaches, He then later took Denver and Colben on an amazing hike to a waterfall and look out points up above Deigo Martin, along with his friend Shastri. We had all planned on going with but it fell on the day that we had to get Robin to the hospital, so a huge thanks to both Wolfy and Shastri for their hospitality. Wolfy has also been a great 'go-to' guy when we have needed recommendations for local services etc, always just a phone call away and always happy to help.

In this episode, Porto Santo shows itself off with a cool hike around the east side, through a tunnel and over the mountain. After a fast sail to Madeira (grande) and the city of Funchal, we start exploring the island's many "Levadas" which are old irrigation systems to provide water to crops on the stepped mountains. Join us as we show you some of the magnificent views, above and below the clouds, of this stunning island. Finally, we set off southward toward the island of Isla Graciosa in the Canary Islands. The tussle for 3rd & 4th place in the supermaxis was a tightly fought tacking battle down the coast between Black Jack & Hamilton Island Wild Oats which didn’t end until both boats were close to the finish line. In the end there were only 59 seconds between them. Reichel Pugh and McConaghy Boats were also the winners being the designers and builders of these supermaxis back in 2005. Still competitive beautiful boats today!
It was something of an overnight sprint for the Supermaxis in the Audi Centre BWPS Cabbage Tree Island Race, which started at 7pm last night on Sydney Harbour. Andoo Comanche took Line Honours crossing the finish line off Watsons Bay this morning at 7.19am, followed by Law Connect, with Black Jack and Hamilton Island Wild Oats XI battling tack-for-tack into the harbour and up to the finish line; Black Jack eventually winning that battle.
A light to medium sou’easter brought the fleet down the harbour. Black Jack had the best of the breeze leading the fleet through the Heads.
Although it has been a tough night for many of the fleet with very slow conditions heading north, we take a look back at the start with our video of the race start commissioned by the CYCA.
The sun just dipped below the horizon as the gun fired for the start of the BWPS Tollgate Islands Race last night on Sydney Harbour. In the gusty WSW breeze - which hit 20+ knots at times - Andoo Comanche was straight out of the box, whipping down the harbour and out through the Heads in a matter of minutes. By the time the tail end of the 28 boat fleet rounded South Head and settled in for the journey south, the navigation lights were glowing across the water.
We had a great morning out on the Harbour on Saturday, commissioned by the CYCA to film the start of the Audi Centre Sydney Flinders Islet Race. A cracking start from the bigger boats gave for great drone footage and tracking shots down the harbour.
_____ In this episode, we sail the coast of Nova Scotia in Canada, gradually getting closer to the United States.

Torneremo sicuramente a Minorca!
