As we were leaving Beaufort, NC, we were treated to a beautiful sunrise. We cruised the Atlantic to Wrightsville Beach, NC where we stayed a few days and explored this cute little surf town. After that we headed south on the ICW , anchoring overnight in Calabash Creek, then continuing on to Georgetown, SC where we found a protected anchorage to ride out the Hurricane Nicole winds that were headed our way. On this 4-day passage to the Azores I decided to cook Espada with passionfruitsauce, mashed potatoes and fried bananas. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.

After a few weeks in the Sea of Cortez we have gotten into a nice rhythm of finding nice anchorages, hanging out for a few days and then sail off a few miles to the next spot. We take advantage of a stiff southerly wind to crush a twenty mile sail to Isla San Fransico. It's a race (well at least in Bill's mind) between Delos, OneLife and Calico Skies. We narrowly beat Delos to the anchorage (they got within 500ft of us after 20 miles of sailing!) Isla San Francisco is a popular anchorage with clear water and a great hike to the top for an awesome overlook. As things go with the cruising life the wind shifts overnight leading to a choppy night on anchor. We decide to get out of the swell and head to a nearby anchorage. It a gorgeous light air sail with our code zero. The new spot is very pretty but overnight we are attacked by a swarm of no see-ums. Fin de traversée et arrivée à Mindelo - L'île invisible et super marina. Je n'avais jamais vu ça, à 8 miles nautiques des côtes de São Vicente, alors qu'il n'y a pas de brouillard, les côtes restent invisibles. Enfin, après 7 jours et 6h de traversée, on pose pied à terre. On est tout de suite dans l'ambiance. Le dépaysement est assuré, on n'est plus en Europe. Nous quittons la magnifique île de Chichime aux San Blas à la voile en direction d’un autre mouillage de rêve avec un nom aussi étrange ; Banedup ! Nous recevons la visite du peuple Kuna qui livre la nourriture au bateau et nous avons une belle soirée d’Halloween dans un petit restaurant bar avec des amis rencontrés dans les jours précédents. Ensuite, c’est déjà le temps de bouger parce que nous n’avons pas internet à Banedup et nous devons publier votre prochain épisode ! Alors, c’est avec notre voile Parasailor que nous nous déplaçons jusqu’à l’île qui a supposément l’internet le plus rapide des San Blas. Nous avons fait le tour de l'archipel de Bocas del Toro au Panama et nous n'avons pas été déçus de la promenade. Nous avons découvert un archipel plein de vie aquatique et terrestre ainsi que de superbes mouillages. Il y a des dizaines d'îles propices où l'on peut mouiller en tout tranquillité et sans personne autour. Cela ressemble aux San Blas mais sans le sable blanc ni les cocotiers. C'était une belle découverte !
