The final presentation before the village in the Island Ua Pou. This is the dance group that Ua Pou will send to the Marquesan Art Festival 2022 in Fatu Hiva It is the almost complete performance 45 minutes, I omitted only some parts (8 minutes) We were so honored to be there. It was a complete hypnotizing experience. The drums, men and women were one sea of sound movement and power. Besides the performance, we heard in the end, this is also the youth that is doing a last performance for their elders. At least for some of them, they end school, go study in Tahiti only to come back years later. You could see the proud parents looking at their sons and daughters and the remembrance that they were dancing there one too. This was purely for their own village. I think we and some others where maybe less then 20 tourists. We are Kathrin and Daniel sailing, cruising and living aboard our sailing yacht SV Polaris Helvetica, a 14m Bavaria Cruiser 46 from 2017. We left our native Switzerland and moved to the UK almost two decades ago. In 2021, in our mid 50-ies and after our three boys left the nest we made the big decision to leave the rat race in London and to make our beloved sailboat our primary floating residence. Over the years we added a generator, got rid of the propane gas cooker and replaced it with an electric stove and oven, changed our house battery bank to Lithium (LiFePo, Lithium Iron Phospate), added a 1,200W solar arch and a water maker. With these upgrades Polaris is now a comfortable home allowing us to cruise the coast of the United Kingdom and, most recently, Scoland, in comfort, summer and winter. Kathrin loves to cook and bake on board, you will see some of her cookery wonders across our episodes, and makes good use of her Thermomix cooker. We totally fell in love with our new lifestyle although we had to make some tough decisions. We vacated our rental house in London and sold and gave away all our furniture and belongings that had no space on Polaris. It is a very liberating feeling to be able to say that all we own is with us on our small sailing boat. There's nothing else to care about. We enjoy our freedom and exploring new places, discovering their history and we love making new friends along our way.

Boating in the winter - we went to Friday Harbor in January of 2022 for five days. The boys and I explored while Shane had to work back on the boat. We even rented a card to see the other side of the island too. We're now actually wintering here in Friday Harbor.

Episode 10: Sopat Cave In this episode we stepped deep into the bowels of the earth and explored an epic cave. In last week’s episode we highlighted the waterfall which was present because of the high rains we had the prior week. When we drove by again the waterfall had dried up and left Sopat Cave for us to explore. So we did a quick assessment and feeling the draw for adventure and exploration we decided to come back with torches and ropes to venture further in. Join us as we make our way into the Sopat Cave in Risan Montenegro, possibly discover a cycloptic cave troll, an old man and uncover an amazing emerald pool. We find some of the purest water on earth as the water filters through the rocks and makes its way through the mountains. We discover plenty of Stalactites, Stalagmites and natural rock formations a real treat to the eye. We leave Silver Gull Creek and make our way to the nearby Crocodile Creek using the tides to help us. It’s important to get the timing right to get into the little hole at the top of the creek. We spend a few days collecting oysters and checking out the amazing scenic changes as the creek rises and falls. We also enjoy a lovely fresh water swim in the rock pool. Then it’s a sad goodbye as we head off to Silver Gull Creek to fill up Nutshell from the very convenient water point on the structure. Thanks for watching.
