2013 Knysna 500 Pelagic Belle is a 2013 Knysna 500 owners cabin version with three cabins and three heads. She was built in Knysna, South Africa and sailed to the Seychelles where she remained until 2021. The Knysna Yacht Company only produces three yachts a year, each on order and customized to their buyers specific tastes. From her sleek but powerful lines, to the intelligence of her design, her hulls shaped to effortlessly conquer oceans and take you safely, and in utmost comfort to the furthest reaches of the world, the Knysna 500 has, in spite of her deliberately kept small production numbers, also conquered the world of cruising with its enviable reputation. The name Knysna is known and awe-inspiring to those who have looked beyond the production lines for a boat that is not built to a price point, and where only the very best will do, from the drawing board to the final touches. Pelagic Belle was built by former owner and founder of the Knysna Yacht company. She was meticulously looked after and sailed a few times a year. She returned to, Durban South Africa in April of 2021 and sailed to Knynsa where she spent four months having solar and lithium batteries fitted for blue water cruising. In August of 2021 owners sailed her to Cape Town where she spent another five months for an extensive refit and upgrade. Standing and running rigging were changed and new North sails (NorLAM) fitted. New Flexiteak floors fitted in the cockpit and sugar scoops. In February of 2022 the owners sailed from Cape Town to Grenada. She was hauled on arrival and had her bottom paint done and both engines and sail drives serviced. Currently owners are making their way North to the Bahamas aiming to arrive there in February 2023. Pelagic Belle is ready for serious blue water sailing with a new main, genoa and code zero, as well as an asymmetric spinnaker. She is fast and incredibly comfortable with excellent upwind performance. She is extremely strong and purposely built for unlimited ocean cruising in all latitudes and weather conditions. A dedicated spectator ferry runs on Saturdays during the sailing season, providing a magnificent harbour cruise while following the 18-footers’ racing. It is easily the best value, and most visually exciting cruise on our magnificent harbour! Situated at the end of Careening Cove, Kirribilli, the Sydney Flying Squadron clubhouse enjoys spectacular water views and is situated next to Milsons Park which provides a large grassy rigging area. It is a great sight on Saturday mornings in summer, when the Historic 18-footers are rigged on the lawn, before launching down the ramp next to the Club for the afternoons’ racing. In this video the Historic 18's are racing in the Middle Harbour Yacht Clubs' Sydney Regatta. These are highlights of the 2013 season. Enjoy the carnage! I took the tent and the TRANGIA MINI cooker in the MAC 3.6m boat to meet up with Ralf and Christiane (in their Welsford design PENGUIN trailer yacht. It was the boats 10th birthday. I camped ashore for the night at the Rotomahana Jetty - in front of the old shelter. Hotcakes, coffee and porridge for breakfast at 7am - cooked on the baby Trangia. Ralf brought along his CLC Eastport Praam dinghy - 'Korora'. It splits in half! He built both boats himself. A Very pleasant 36 hours!

Nous débordons de bonheur à l’idée de retourner dans les îles paradisiaques des San Blas. Mère Nature nous donne un vent ultra léger, parfait pour voler le parasailor, que demandé de plus ! Nous testons notre amplificateur de signal en navigation et c’est un succès, nous avons internet, là où nous n’en avions pas avant ! Nous arrivons à l’île de Chichime après le coucher du soleil, mais ce n’est pas un problème parce que nous avons nos traces des dernières fois sur le GPS, alors techniquement, nous n’avons pas besoin de voir où nous allons ! Dès notre arrivée, 2 raies sautent autour du bateau, et à notre plus grand bonheur, une d’elles revient nous visiter le lendemain matin.
