Literally and figuratively, Riley Gibbs is a Blockhead. He's a great sailor. If it foils, he sails it. Moths. A-Cats. Nacra 17s. SailGP F50s. He’s an Olympian. And now he’s Helmsman with the American Magic America’s Cup team. Over the years, Riley has become an important part of Harken/Sailor new product collaboration cycles. He happily identifies as a Harken Blockhead. He’s always willing to share his boats and rigging thoughts on camera which is great. He’s quite technical and loves to talk rigging…in other words, he’s a WONK. And we love wonks—inside and outside of Harken.

Sailboat in very good condition, a single owner and never used for charter. The heat exchanger and the sail drive rubber have been recently changed along with all the gaskets and oils. Well-balanced, practical and carefully built, the Bavaria 42 Cruiser has long been the benchmark for comfortable cruising with friends and family. Visibility at the helm is perfect, and thanks to its double wheel it has a spacious and comfortable cockpit that provides comfort and a sense of security even in steep heeling. Deck fittings and rigging are well suited to deep water cruising and allow good sail control. The sensations at the helm are incredible and you will undoubtedly enjoy sailing on this 42-foot monohull.

I was quite anxious when I signed up for my first cruise 14 years ago... I thought I'd enjoy it but there were a lot of aspects of cruising that I just didn't understand... In this video I'll look at 6 things you need to know before boarding that first cruise. That includes some potentially controversial advice on picking your very first cruise, plus some advice on what happens and what you need to be doing between booking the cruise and boarding the ship. Now I make videos about cruising, I'm often asked questions about things like what to pack for formal nights, whether you should buy drinks packages and whether people are going to be seasick. In this video, I'll attempt to answer all of those questions! Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 Catamaran Review • Last Week's Yard: Corsair Marine, 7 Gò Ô Môi, Phú Thuận, Quận 7, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam • This Week's Yard: Fountaine Pajot, ZA, Rue du Fief Girard, 17290 Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis, France • Wine: Domaines Barons De Rothschild Legende Medoc. 40 50 cours du Médoc, 33300 BORDEAUX, France Participate in the Dave Score: https://forms.office.com/r/KjHCaEbiP0 Starting high above Vancouver Canada, we fly West across the Pacific to Vietnam, the home of last week's "Future Yacht" and Seawind Catamaran's From here we continue West acround the globe to the Fountaine Pajot yards on the West Coast of France. For this weeks wine pairing, we head South down the coast to Domaines Barons De Rothschild and their Legende Medoc Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2017. The Lafite Rothschild family has been producing wine in Bordeaux since 1868. For six generations, they got to know this beautiful landscape and understand the unique traits of the vines from each appellation. Three decades ago, the family was inspired to create a new wine series, where each wine would be the epitome of the appellation it came from. Their motivation was simple – to ensure wine lovers everywhere could dive into Bordeaux and taste the originality of each appellation. And so, Les Légendes R range was born. The wines in the Collection are made under the supervision of oenologist, Diane Flamand, with the same care and attention to detail as is applied to the Grands Vins. The Pauillac and Médoc wines are produced from DBR (Lafite)'s own vineyards and from neighbouring vineyards. For the Bordeaux appellations, the technical team selects the terroirs and supervises the vinification of the grapes from partner suppliers. The rich patchwork of châteaux in the Médoc produces ruby-coloured, well-rounded wines that are a fine accompaniment to many dishes. The Collection's Médoc benefits from the same care as a Grand Vin: rigorous selection, extreme precision in the winery, with meticulous specifications, reduced yields, impeccable ripeness and purity of fruit, and traditional maturing. The star of the Médoc, Cabernet Sauvignon is given excellent expression and can be appreciated for its natural characteristics by lovers of Bordeaux's wines. Nice deep ruby red color. Expressive, complex nose, offering a pleasant aromatic diversity, combining scents of leather and ripe fruit with subtle oaky notes. Elegant and well-balanced on the palate, with silky tannins offering a long spicy finish. Blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot Wine: https://www.lafite.com/en/the-collection/legende/ Innovation Corner • Fountaine Pajot Estrea 42 Web page: https://www.catamarans-fountaine-pajot.com/en/sailing-catamarans/catamaran-astrea-42/ • Robotic hull cleaning: KeelCrab: https://keelcrab.com/en/the-keelcrab/ • Quick cleaning: Keelcrab cleans 2 m² per minute • IP68 camera and LED: HD camera and powerful LEDs allow you to monitor the hull and check the condition • Fast replacement of brushes: Brushes with different abrasive capacity to suit any cleaning need THE KEELCRAB is the first of the new generation of underwater drones to perform Robotic hull cleaning and inspection activities. Characterized by a plastic exoskeleton with neutral hydrostatic buoyancy, it is maintained in perfect adherence to the hull thanks to a major suction effect generated by a powerful marinized pump motor, removing and sucking up algae or vegetation that typically builds up on boats during periods of standing in closed waters. The movement of the drone is provided by natural rubber or P.V.A. brushes driven by tracks that allow easy maneuvering in all directions, over any surface and making the drone adept at overcoming obstacles. A high-resolution underwater camera allows the drone to be operated by wired remote control with a video stream display on a 7-inch display, tablet or phone. In terms of cleaning capability, the drone is equipped with nylon inset counter-rotating center brushes (with variable length and diameter) that are easily interchangeable according to the needs of abrasion. These A.N.C.C.P. certified brushes do not remove antifouling paints but rather extend their effect over time. Mark Jarvis is passionate about catamaran design. As a life-long sailor, Mark has sailed on most, if not all, multihull brands in his sailing career. At Boat Shows particularly, he has many discussions with monohull or other non-catamaran/multihull sailors who have heard some untruths around multihull sailing. In this video, Mark addresses those top myths that he is asked about time after time. Myths debunked in this video: Catamarans are not ideal for offshore passages A catamaran is not safe or could capsize It's difficult to get multihulls to sail upwind Multihulls are hard to berth The shape of a multihull causes a lot of slamming into the water Multihulls are expensive to berth Find out more about our catamarans and our business on our other channels: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/broadbluecats/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/broadblue_catamarans/ Website: https://www.broadblue.com/ Read more about us here: Broadblue is a UK company based at Thornham Marina, Emsworth. We ventured out to a new island to celebrate New Year's in this island full of blue water and incredible hikes and views. We became friends with the bees again, and then headed over to another new spot where we got to really sail! Where has the wind been this whole trip?! We finish up with a short film from Skylar that she created herself, so don't miss that at the end!

In this episode we leave the island of Lanzarote, and sail down the east coast of the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, where we see an unusual dolphin sighting....Risso's dolphins. We then explore the Fuerteventura town of Morro Jable, and hike the adjacent tallest peak on the island, Pico de la Zarza. Great views and a nice challenging (but achievable) hike. We then move to Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria, where we do a bit of exploring, but also a bunch of boat work including: - replacing the engine control panel - fixing cabin lights and reading lights - defrosting the fridge, and adding an insulating gasket - replacing the salon table latches We then provision for our passage to Cape Verde, and explore the old town area, visiting the Museo Canario, and eat some Canarian tapas! Thanks for following! Video captured on Samsung Galaxy S10 and A12 phones, by a GoPro 8 (any underwater shots), and a Mavic Mini 2 drone (air shots). From Brest to Gijón, 298 NM across the Bay of Biscay. Deciding how to make it to Spain has been a struggle for many boats this season. The orcas along the Spanish and Portuguese coast have been very active and almost daily there were reports of sailboats being attacked and having their rudder destroyed. Some boats decided to go on the inside of the Biscay, staying along the coast, other skipped the northwest corner of Spain all together, and some, like us, headed a bit more east when doing the crossing. All in all, everything went well and we had a fantastic sailing window with little over 2 days of sailing before making land fall in Spain. The Bay of Biscay is notorious for it's high swells and and fierce winds, but luckily we saw nothing of that and the weather prediction held up better than expected 😃 Our first "long" passage is completed! Hope you'll enjoy sailing along! ________ We are Emmy and Marcus, a Swedish couple who has decided to leave our home and set sail. For now the goal is Caribbean, but who really knows how far your dreams might take you? Welcome aboard our sailboat Linnea! Do you want more LinneaSailing?

Bedankt! Mijn naam is Jacqueline Evers. Wil je me supporten? Jacqueline Evers Music: www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music
