The XR 41 is one of the most exciting race yachts for 2025, and we were at the World Premiere on Saturday 18th January at boot Düsseldorf. So che a volte ci metto un po' a pubblicare contenuti sulle normative, ma mi piace prendermi il tempo necessario per studiarle a fondo e spiegarti, in pochi minuti, tutto ciò che davvero ti serve sapere. Non analizzeremo ogni dettaglio, ma ci concentreremo sugli aspetti essenziali per la tua sicurezza e conformità legale. Le Fonti Normative Le informazioni che ti condivido derivano direttamente dalla legge. Mi riferisco al Codice della Strada, in particolare alla legge del 30 aprile 1992, aggiornata con il Decreto Legislativo del 16 giugno 2022, quindi tutto quello che dirò è assolutamente in linea con la normativa vigente. Articolo 61: Dimensioni Consentite L'articolo 61 del Codice della Strada stabilisce i seguenti limiti: Larghezza massima della sagoma: 2,55 metri. Lunghezza massima del treno veicolare (cioè la motrice + il rimorchio): 18,75 metri. Altezza massima: 4 metri. Chiunque superi queste dimensioni è soggetto a sanzioni amministrative. Inoltre, il viaggio può proseguire solo se il carico è riportato nei limiti consentiti, ad esempio riducendo le sporgenze o scaricando parte del peso. Regole sulle Sporgenze Se, per esempio, il motore della tua barca sporge di un metro oltre il consentito, non basta pagare la multa per continuare il viaggio. Sarà necessario risolvere il problema sul posto, ad esempio rimuovendo il motore o sistemando il carico in modo conforme. Limiti di Peso La normativa sui pesi è legata all'omologazione del rimorchio e del veicolo trainante: Se la tua auto è omologata per trainare fino a 2.000 kg, non puoi superare quel peso. Il rimorchio, la barca e il motore devono rientrare nel peso massimo indicato per il rimorchio stesso. Ad esempio, se il rimorchio è omologato per 1.500 kg, il peso totale (rimorchio + barca + motore) non deve superare questo limite. Esiste una tolleranza prevista dalla legge, ma è fondamentale conoscere i limiti specifici e rispettarli. Tipologie di Patente La capacità di trainare varia anche in base alla patente: Con una patente B, puoi guidare veicoli con massa complessiva fino a 3.500 kg. Con patenti B+E o B96, puoi trainare pesi maggiori, a seconda dell'omologazione del veicolo e del rimorchio. This morning, on Thursday 16 January 2025, Team Malizia's skipper Boris Herrmann informed his team and race management about serious damage to the port foil of his Malizia - Seaexplorer racing yacht following a collision with an OANI (abbreviation of a French term for "unidentified object or animal" used when the skipper does not know what he collided with). The incident happened at 02:31 UTC during the night as Boris Herrmann was sailing in the Vendée Globe race in the North Atlantic at 10 degreesN and 37 degreesW, approximately 900 nautical miles off the northeast coast of Brazil, and 13,7 knots boat speed. Boris Herrmann is safe and unharmed. After initial inspection of the boat, the German skipper reported severe damage to the port foil. The rest of the boat has no obvious damage and he is able to continue sailing. After inspection it was clear that the damage is not repairable and the foil rendered unusable. On discussing the situation with his team they agreed if left in place, it could likely compromise the integrity of the hull and the safety of the boat. The team is currently assessing whether, given the extent of the damage and its location, it is feasible to move the foil, to retract it as much as possible, and to keep it secured until the finish. Should this not be safe or possible, Boris Herrmann would be left with no choice but to try to cut the foil from the boat.

Charlie Dalin on MACIF Santé Prévoyance has won the Vendée Globe 2024-25, and in the process has destroyed the previous record, finishing at 07:24:49 UTC on Tuesday 14th January in a time of 64 days, 19 hours, 22 minutes, 49 seconds. The previous record, set by Armel Le Cléac'h on Banque Populaire VIII in the 2016-17 edition of the race was 74 days, 3 hours and 36 minutes, meaning that Dalin has taken a staggering 9 days, 8 hours, 12 minutes and 57 seconds off the previous reference. The scenes in Les Sables d'Olonne were spectacular, with a full moon before dawn illuminating the IMOCA yacht and a huge spectator fleet following him into the line. With clear skies, the golden hue of the sun made for an incredible backdrop in what is a fitting and deserved win for Dalin, who has lived up to his tag of pre-race favourite in emphatic style, sailing 27,667.91 nautical miles at an average speed of 17.79 knots. I personally believe that Riviera are the undisputed leader in luxury family boats in Australia and a global leader in what they are doing. Build quality, sea keeping and the ease of operating these boats has been developed to such a high level that if you are looking for a workhorse to keep you and your entire family safe for many years to come then it's very hard to pass on a Riv. This 46SMY provides real estate that just isn't possible in a sedan vessel and therefore lends itself towards entertaining larger groups, and staying out for longer periods. But like every boat you do compromise on stability with the extra weight aloft and potential lack of visability from the helm if you're a short arse like me. I thought once we checked in we were done with hard parts of cruising. I thought we were going to get back to our paradise anchorage to get back to the good life....... I thought wrong!
