After reprovisioning in Brunswick, I begin my downeast meander with a short trip to the Basin, on the New Meadows river. However, conditions are less than ideal to attempt the narrow cut by sail and oar, and I chicken out. The following morning brings near calm conditions and a flooding current. I will have transit the cut by sculling oar. Well I'm going to give it a try. We planned an early morning departure for the 150-nautical-mile sail to Ponta Delgada. But unfortunately, our anchor was fouled, so we had to call a diver to free it. To make things worse, the motor on our anchor windlass stopped working. We checked the solenoid, wiring, and all connections, which meant it could only be the motor. The divers from https://www.norbertodiver.pt/ arrived around 5:30 p.m. and quickly freed our anchor for €80. They were friendly and efficient - great service if you are unfortunate enough to get stuck. After manually getting the anchor on board, we were finally able to set off. It turned out to be a brilliant overnight sail with amazing conditions. We arrived in Ponta Delgada after dark, but since it's an easy port to enter and we've been here twice before, it wasn't an issue. 요트의 워터탱크 수도 필터와 빌지펌프 필터, 그리고 수도 꼭지 필터를 청소했다. 얼마 전 워터탱크를 청소해서인지, 필터에는 미끌거리는 녹색 이물질이 제법 많이 끼어 있었다. 이런 필터를 주기적으로 관리해 주지 않으면 펌프가 고장 나기 쉽다. 하나하나 작업을 하다 보니 배관과 부속 부위들을 자연스럽게 살펴보게 되었고, 이 배가 처음 어떻게 설치되었는지도 함께 들여다볼 수 있었다. 요트라는 작은 삶의 공간 안에 생각보다 훨씬 많은 장비와 시설들이 들어가야 하다 보니, 배관과 부속들이 복잡하게 얽힌 채 설치되어 있다는 걸 새삼 느낀다. 요트 사용자는 그 편리함에 감탄하고, 요트 관리자는 그 복잡함에 감탄하는 것 같다. 오늘 같은 작업은 비교적 수월한 편이라, 서두르지 않고 쉬엄쉬엄 즐기듯 마무리했다.

This episode covers my 8th outing in the new-to-me 1987 Precision 16 sailing dinghy I purchased locally for $800. This time I return to beautiful Aurora Reservoir in Aurora, Colorado on another unusually warm mid-November day. Aurora Reservoir is a city park in the City of Aurora, CO. The park features a sandy swim beach, modern 3 lane boat ramp, clean restroom facilities and nice picnic areas. The reservoir permits electric motor and hand-powered watercraft only...no gas outboards permitted. The reservoir is open to boating until 1 December. The Precision 16 is a lightweight Stephen Seaton-designed un-ballasted centerboard sailing dinghy with a planing hull manufactured from 1982 until the mid 90s.
