Decidimos subir a costa brasileira novamente!

We have about 30 days until we fly back to our sailboat after a year away, and honestly, we're not ready. Before we can return to boat life, we have to finish land life and wrap up all the messy bits. In this video we start the countdown and get things organized. We get started on the projects that have to be finished before we leave - like painting the bus! This is the beginning of our return-to-the-boat series. This week we continue to troubleshoot the rotten engine room bulkhead that we found when we removed our fuel tank to be welded. The contractors come and do a great job of welding a new bottom on the tank, but will it pass the pressure test? SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing through Asia and planning to cross the Indian Ocean!! After nearly a month anchored between Johor Bahru and Singapore, our ex-Vendée Globe race boat had become painfully slow. Ahead of us lay more than 500 nautical miles through the Singapore Strait and the Malacca Strait — some of the busiest shipping lanes anywhere in the world — and almost immediately we realised something was seriously slowing NV down. What we discovered underneath the boat was not exactly ideal… With huge tankers all around us, murky water, strong currents, and even the possibility of crocodiles, Timo jumps into the water to try to scrape enough growth from the hull to get us moving again. Meanwhile, the boys continue learning the ropes of boat life, with Nemo teaching Tao knots while we clean a carpet of black mussels from the dinghy too. This marks the beginning of our long journey north towards Thailand aboard our ex-racing yacht turned family home. ⛵ New episode every Sunday on Sailing NV. ❤️ Support Our Journey If you'd like to help us keep sailing + filming, you can support us here: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SailingNV Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/sailingnv Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/sailingnv or if you'd like to help us buy something we need, you can check out our amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1G2NJ0EGJLKR0?ref_=wl_share Thank you so much #Sailing #BoatLife #SailingNV

After two years of planning, fabricating, redesigning, and chasing down welders, our sailboat finally has a massive new solar arch—and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. In this episode of our catamaran refit, we install a custom stainless steel solar arch capable of supporting 4 x 575W bifacial solar panels, plus an additional two panels mounted on the coach roof for a total of 3,450 watts of solar power onboard. Getting to this point was anything but easy. We had three different welders flake out on us before finally finding someone willing to take on the project for a reasonable price. By the end, we were deeply involved in the build ourselves—designing the arch, cutting and fitting the stainless supports, and acting as the welder’s extra hands throughout the fabrication process. This wasn’t a simple bolt-on project. We handled all the heavy lifting ourselves and completed the installation without any help from the boatyard. Along the way, we also: Reused and integrated the original safety rails Added a cockpit shower and foot wash Built a strong, clean structure capable of supporting serious off-grid power generation The final result completely transformed the back of the boat. Not only does the arch look incredible, but it’s also a huge step toward our goal of building a fully self-sufficient cruising catamaran capable of running comfortably without relying on marinas or a generator. This project has been nearly two years in the making, and finally seeing the solar array mounted and complete feels like a massive milestone in our sailboat refit journey. If you’re into: Sailboat refits DIY boat projects Off-grid solar systems Catamaran upgrades Liveaboard cruising preparation Marine electrical systems …this episode is packed with real-world fabrication, problem-solving, and major progress. ⛵ One step closer to sailing. 00:00 Recap countdown 00:31 The plan 00:43 Channel intro 01:01 Coach roof panels 01:35 Measure for new arch supports 05:13 Cutting stainless 07:40 Cleaning up 08:34 Yep, still cutting stainless 10:09 Polish and reuse safety rails 11:33 Welding Day(s) 12:33 Pulling wires 12:59 Raise the panels 13:54 Shower box 14:01 Wrap up 15:03 Like and subscribe 15:25 End card ☝More about us, our adventures, and how we do all this on our website.More about Roam here ⛵️https://sailingroam.com/our-sailboat/ 📲 Keep up with us on social FACEBOOK: https://facebook.com/sgsailingroam INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/sailing_roam ----------------------------------------------------------- WE'RE GERI AND SHAWN. But this wasn’t always our life. In 2020, we found Yabá abandoned, sinking, and on the verge of being lost forever. We had no experience in boatbuilding, only a wild dream and the determination to make it happen. We worked relentlessly, learning from the best local shipwrights and pouring everything we had into this rebuild. It took four years of sweat, setbacks, and unwavering commitment, but today, Yabá is more than just a boat, she’s our home, our biggest adventure, and the proof that crazy dreams can come true. But of course, leaving Antarctica isn’t exactly simple. Between us and civilization lies the Drake Passage. A stretch of Southern Ocean with one of the most notorious reputations on Earth. _______ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity Timestamps if you like to Jump Around: 00:00 Why Sail Across the Drake Passage? 01:20 Last Day in Antarctica 04:50 Prepare a Sailboat for the Drake Passage 10:33 Drake Passage Sail Day 1 14:23 Drake Passage Sail Day 2 19:11 Drake Passage Sail Day 3 24:16 Drake Passage Sail Day 4 29:15 Drake Passage Sail Day 5 32:53 Ushuaia Marina, Immigration & Hiking 36:53 Why We Travel ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #antarctica #Sailing #drakepassage #BoatLife #Travel #adventure#Curiosity © Gone With the Wynns 2026

Outboard or inboard? It’s one of the biggest decisions when spec’ing a Targa 32 or below, and in this video, Andrew Porter from East Coast Yacht Sales breaks down the real-world differences between both engine packages on a Targa 27.2 outboard & inboard boat. We take a detailed look at two 2026 Targa 27.2 models: • Twin Mercury 300 Outboards • Single Volvo D6 400 Diesel Inboard From swim platform usability and cockpit layout to engine room space, maintenance costs, cruising performance, fuel burn, efficiency, range, and overall ownership experience, this video compares how each setup completely changes the feel of the same boat. Hello, everyone! In this part two of our trip to Tonga from Tahiti, you'll see a lot of sailing action, including big wind and big waves. This trip was a bit of a milestone for us, as we knew it was going to be boisterous, but we feel like we really understand the boat and our sailing ability has improved. We are less and less concerned about the weather we will face because we can handle almost anything. Of course Mike is along for this leg as usual, and we have a great time together. This one's a bit long, but there's a two-minute out take at the end. Don't miss it:) Www.svhappytogether.com Music: Sailing by Leisure Cruise Hold the line by Toto. Groove is in the Heart by Dee-Lite
This week aboard SV Wildly Intrepid we explore what might be the most beautiful island we’ve visited all season… 🌴🇻🇮 Sailing the US Virgin Islands with our buddy boat, we explore St John Island and hike the incredible trail from Francis Bay while discovering the crystal clear waters of Francis Bay and Maho Beach. Then we sail over to Waterlemon Bay for snorkeling around Waterlemon Cay — but the water was WAY colder than expected! To warm up we head ashore to explore the historic Annaberg Plantation ruins and learn about the island’s powerful and heartbreaking past. We finish the adventure with a hike up to the Windy Hill Great House ruins where the panoramic views over the US and British Virgin Islands absolutely blew us away. St John has officially become one of our favorite islands in the Caribbean. ⛵ Thanks for following our family sailing adventure! 👍 Like the video, leave a comment and subscribe to join our Intrepid Tribe! 📍Locations featured: Francis Bay Maho Beach Waterlemon Bay Waterlemon Cay Annaberg Plantation Windy Hill Great House Ruins #sailing #usvi #stjohn #caribbeansailing #sailboatlife #familytravel #StJohn #USVI #VirginIslands #Sailing #SailingLife #FamilySailing #Liveaboard #CruisingLife #SailboatLife #Caribbean #CaribbeanLife #TravelVlog #IslandLife #Snorkeling #WaterlemonCay #MahoBay #FrancisBay #AnnabergPlantation #BoatLife #WildlyIntrepid 🤍 SUPPORT THE CHANNEL If you’d like to help keep these videos coming: 👉 Patreon (monthly support) https://www.patreon.com/WildlyIntrepid 👉 One-time contribution (PayPal) https://www.paypal.me/wildlyintrepid 👉 Grab some merch https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/wildly-intrepid 👉 Amazon Wish List (gear we need) https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2GTH6AGVPH4LP?ref_=wl_share 🔔 JOIN THE INTREPID TRIBE Subscribe and follow along: https://www.youtube.com/c/WildlyIntrepid?sub_confirmation=1 📲 FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/wildlyintrepid/ Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/wildlyintrepid/ 🛠️ GEAR & DISCOUNTS (Affiliate Links) Using these links supports us at no extra cost to you 🙌 ⚓ Defender Marine https://defender.pxf.io/xL9D9v 🔋 SOK Batteries https://www.us.sokbattery.com/?ref=zS7whJNCsEGFPu ❄️ BougeRV (32% OFF) Code: Wildly https://bit.ly/3ZYruez 🔋 UNOWIX Batteries (10% OFF) Code: UNOWIX10 https://unowix.com/unowix-defender-x100.html#aff22 Amazon (USA): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5Q84XQW?ref=myi_title_dp 🏴☠️ Vagabond Heart (stickers & patches) https://vagabondheart.co?sca_ref=2994343.Oj9OO9JP2Z 📚 BOOKS BY US "Hikes of Western Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/33NphoR "Hikes of Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/39WtjPR 🎶 Music: Epidemic Sound

Day 9-10 of our sail from the USA to Colombia… and this stretch tested us hard. We’re still battling 30 knot winds as we try to make our way past Cuba and toward the channel between Cuba and Haiti. But between the strong current pushing against us and the wind directly on the nose, every tack feels pointless. No matter what we do, we’re barely making any ground. Then things get worse. The weight of our outboard engine snaps the bolt holding part of the pushpit into the boat, leaving us trying to deal with damage offshore in rough conditions. After hours of fighting the current, we’re forced to make an unexpected decision… turn the engine on and motor our way past Cuba. But there’s another problem waiting ahead. As we approach Haiti, we know we’re about to hit a huge wind shadow — and suddenly we’re not sure if we even have enough fuel left to get through it. ⛵ Follow our sail from the USA to Colombia 🎥 Start the series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcpg_1nM2Z5x0VEfLF0XzUTVuvqNrpM3P ❤️ Support the journey & watch early/ad-free videos: Patreon → https://www.patreon.com/Leadingtheescapade 🫶🏽 One-off support: PayPal → https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=R48D67JJBMDB4 Subscribe and follow along as we prepare Escapade for our Pacific crossing.

Day 6 at sea. Day 2 of getting ripped at sea. I’ve continued with my workout program and focusing properly on my nutrition, and honestly, I’m finding the whole thing really interesting. On my previous crossing, I tracked what I ate, but more just in quantity. This time I’m actually tracking calories and paying attention to the nutritional side of it all, making sure I’m getting enough protein and eating in a way that makes me feel good. And one thing that surprised me is how many calories I actually need out here. My first thought was that I should need way less because technically I spend more time sitting or lying down than I would on land. But then I started thinking about how your body is always working at sea. Even when I’m resting, my body is constantly stabilizing itself, adjusting to movement, stopping myself from falling over, reacting to every wave and motion. And I think that constant engagement changes way more than you realize. So weirdly enough, the amount I need to eat is actually pretty similar to land life. Sometimes maybe even more. Which I honestly found fascinating. Other than that, it’s been a pretty normal day at sea. I experimented a bit with food and ended up making some absolutely amazing desserts. Healthy, high protein, actually delicious. So overall… very productive day for both sailor me and gym bro me. 🌊💪 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Is there anything that is NOT damaged on my boat? Join me during this video in which I learn that my steering shaft is basically out of service. Shredded ball bearings, a shaft which is out of balance and a cockpit floor which is rotten. Surprise after surprise on my Jeanneau Sun Magic 44. The Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum sits in a very specific part of the market, large enough to genuinely entertain on board, capable enough for serious coastal cruising, yet still manageable for a couple intending to owner-operate without full-time crew. For many owners, that balance is exactly the appeal. In this series, we take a proper look at what makes the 5600 such a strong platform for the way many people actually use their boats: long lunches with family, weekends away, entertaining friends and clients aboard, and occasional extended cruising when time allows. The layout focuses heavily on indoor-outdoor living, with a connected cockpit and saloon arrangement, three-cabin accommodation, a tender garage, strong offshore capability and practical systems designed to simplify operation around the marina. But beyond the brochure specifications, the interesting part is understanding who this boat actually suits. This is not trying to be the biggest yacht in the marina, nor the most aggressive performance platform. What it offers instead is a very balanced mix of entertaining space, cruising comfort, owner usability and build quality in a package that still feels approachable to run as a husband-and-wife team. In the walkthrough, we break down the design, layout and ownership practicality. In the test drive, we take the boat offshore, through marina manoeuvres, docking situations, displacement speed cruising and wide-open throttle to see how the Riviera 5600 actually behaves in real conditions because that’s the part spec sheets can’t really explain.
