We sail from Craró Bay on the Isle of Gigha to Colonsay, with a stopover in Tarbert Loch (Jura) — and two dinghy rescues along the way! In this episode, you’ll discover spectacular landscapes of the Inner Hebrides, challenging anchorages, and restless nights rocked by Atlantic swell. We set off from Gigha towards Jura, where we spent the night and rescued Candida’s dinghy after it broke loose in the early hours. The next day, we sailed together towards Queens Bay in Colonsay — but the swell made sure we didn’t get much sleep. Escapade en annexe : de Port Grimaud à Saint-Tropez, entre canaux et légende Au lever du soleil, alors que le mouillage est encore calme, l’annexe est mise à l’eau. Le clapotis léger contre la coque, l’air frais du matin, et l’excitation d’une nouvelle journée d’exploration en mer : direction Port Grimaud, la “Venise provençale”, puis Saint-Tropez, la perle du golfe. Port Grimaud : charme sur l’eau L’approche de Port Grimaud par la mer est un spectacle en soi. Nichée au fond du golfe de Saint-Tropez, cette cité lacustre imaginée par l’architecte François Spoerry dévoile un labyrinthe de canaux bordés de maisons colorées aux façades fleuries. En annexe, on se faufile lentement entre les ponts bas et les quais pittoresques, saluant les plaisanciers sur leurs terrasses ensoleillées. Ici, tout est pensé pour la vie sur l’eau : chaque maison a son anneau, chaque ruelle son charme. On amarre l’annexe à un ponton prévu pour les visiteurs, et l’on part à pied flâner dans les ruelles pavées. Le marché provençal, les galeries d’art, les petites places ombragées et les terrasses en bord de canal invitent à la détente. Une pause café ou une glace, et il est temps de reprendre la mer. Cap sur Saint-Tropez Quelques milles plus loin, en longeant doucement la côte, Saint-Tropez se dévoile dans toute sa splendeur. L’annexe approche le port mythique, joyau de la jet-set et repaire de marins. On débarque discrètement, le contraste entre l’ambiance feutrée de l’annexe et l’effervescence du quai est saisissant. Dans les ruelles de la vieille ville, on croise autant de visiteurs curieux que d’habitués élégants. Les façades ocres, les boutiques raffinées, les galeries, les senteurs de Provence… Tout ici rappelle que Saint-Tropez est bien plus qu’un mythe : c’est un village vivant, vibrant, ancré dans son histoire. Une visite à la citadelle offre une vue spectaculaire sur le golfe, tandis qu’un détour par le marché de la Place des Lices (les jours de marché) permet de goûter à l’authenticité locale. Puis, retour au port pour reprendre l’annexe, avec le sentiment d’avoir touché du doigt deux univers : le calme d’une cité lacustre pleine de charme, et l’énergie d’un village devenu légende.

오늘도 자잘한 일들이 많았다. 비가 와서 큰 작업은 미루고, 차분히 정비를 진행했다. 수납함에 가득 쌓여 있던 물품들을 하나씩 정리하고, 올해 꼭 필요한 것들과 당장 쓰지 않을 것들을 나눠 두었다. 진행 중인 작업들을 다시 확인하고, 직접 만든 씨코크 배치도도 정리해 두었다. 머릿속으로만 알고 있던 것들이 그림으로 보이니 조금은 마음이 놓인다. 비 오는 날이라서인지 마스트와 해치, 전선 덕트 주변에서 물이 새는 흔적이 보였다. 내일은 더 꼼꼼히 확인해야겠다. 25년 된 요트는 손이 많이 가지만, 그만큼 하루하루 애정을 더하게 되는 것 같다.

A first cruise is always memorable but taking the helm of Dazcat 10 Belladonna to the Isles of Scilly made it unforgettable. Join us on Dazcat 10 Belladonna’s very first cruise with her new co-owner (me, Dazcat Media!) as we sail to the beautiful Isles of Scilly. Until now, my only time on board had been during races with my co-owner Will R, so this was my first real chance to take command, learn her systems, and find out what Belladonna is really like to handle and when passage making. Nervous? Absolutely. But sometimes the best way to learn is just to go for it… even if that means a night passage across the Celtic Sea! We weren’t sailing alone: Dazzle, Nemo, and other friends from the Multihull Centre were also heading west, with Belladonna’s former owner and our @themultihullcentre Multihull Centre yard manager close by if I ran into trouble (which, yes, I did - cue a low-battery panic and a crash course in starting up the generator mid-passage!). The Isles of Scilly turned out to be paradise: sunshine, dolphins, great company, and, best of all, a surprise gathering of 11 Multihull Centre boats, including six Dazcats, for a beach BBQ and bonfire. What started as a nervous first outing became an unforgettable reminder of the amazing community that surrounds these boats. On board with me were: Will L., a hugely experienced multihull sailor and the perfect calm presence. Poppy, our enthusiastic and practical young yard hand, new to multihulls but an absolute star crew. This cruise was the start of a new chapter with Belladonna, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure with her.
