Sailors NYC's first flotilla from Key West to Cuba was a historic one too, as it was the first time an all women flotilla (20 women sailed on board three sailboats) arriving in Cuba! The Cuban media reported on that, and here is our version of the story :-)

At last, we have bought our drone. Here we have our very first flight along with our first longer flight test, filmed with our new canon g7x mkii camera. An expensive last few days. We have some new equipment for our sailing adventures. We haven't featured any sailing in this episode, but this is equipment we have purchased to enhance our sailing videos. The drone is a DJI Phantom 3 Standard. We thought about getting the Mavic but thought we'd give the Phantom a try out first to see how much we use it. We can always upgrade to the Mavic later. So far, we love it. This is also the first time we have used the Canon G7X mkii in our videos. Thoughts so far are good. This will make a great addition to our kit. Join the Barbados 50 yachts who took part in the Cape Verde mini-cruise. Vale de Cavalheiros, Fogo was the 10th port visited by the fleet. Despite our numbers, thanks to the big effort of Jackie and Lutz from Marina Mindelo, the fleet got special permission to berth inside the tiny harbor on that WE when no inter-island ferry would be coming in. Congratulations to all the skippers and crew who tested their skills to raft up as well as dealing with an annoying swell that came inide the harbor during 2 nights … Fogo is little visited island by sailors and our reward was to take a tour to visit the Cha das Calderas, the area that suffered a big volcanic eruptions just a few years ago. We had a delightful lunch in a small restaurant/agricultural project rebuilt so quickly after the eruption. The final souvenir of this island was giving plenty of gift bags to the children living in the relocated village (this was the second half of the gifts we brought for SOS Children in Mindelo. A special thanks to Lutz Meyer-Sheel, marina owner for this mini-cruise planning and to have come to Fogo several days to insure that everything would go smoothly here! I sailed away from Ankaran in Slovenia in summer 2011 with my laser looking for some adventure sailing. I had good winds so I was sailing fast. Laser sailing dinghy was a very good boat. I head no extreme weather or heavy weather only some strong Bura wind. I only had 2 days with rain while sailing Croatia. As I was sailing solo it was a challenge to film this sailing video. I had a gopro camera. Every sailing day was fun. Some more some less. Sailing Croatia was really beautiful. It was a grate sailing adventure and I miss my laser dinghy.
