We have had so much rain over this Monsoon season that believe it or not the boat began to sink into the ground! A combination of soft ground and soil erosion from the rain runoff nearly had the boat falling over.... Would have been a disaster.

We have decided to visit New York City. We drove back through Atlanta and seen the road was closed on I-85 due to the recent fire that caused the road to collapse. We got a brief look at the new Atlanta Braves stadium.

We've come into contact with a ton of Westsail 32 mentors since purchasing Rad Mode and one of these mentors, Captain Leasure on the SV Tortuga, came by to help us work on our main sail reefing and taught us a ton about Westsail 32's in the process. After that, I ran to town for a quick provisioning run while Kristina took our sailing kids out for some training. It's great to have sailing kids on Rad Mode. Soon after Kristina picked me up from Sausalito, we anchored in Richardson's Bay and ended up going through a serious set of nearly non-stop storms, riding the storms out on anchor. Our storm anchor is just a 45 lb CQR and we have 30 feet of half inch chain attached to 3/4" three strand nylon rode. It managed to do the job as we were pounded by winds up to 55 knots. The boat was slammed around so hard on occasion that it literally slammed our heavy companionway hatch all of the way open numerous times. When it rains, it pours but that didn't stop this crew from doing our very best to have a good time even in the worst conditions. The owner replaced the plotter, shaft and batteries just to name a few items. In 2006 the "Pepino" got a new engine witch have brought her all the way to Italy. The Almkotter 11.70 has proven her sturdy- and toughness in the Mediterranean Sea and is now back home for a new adventure.

Long Beach Yacht Club: A second day of racing is complete in front of the Belmont pier as the top four teams have been established.

Johnny Depp's island, also known as Little Halls Pond, is the location where Tambi commits the heinous act of trespassing in this video. That's pretty interesting and all, but first, let me tell you about Rocky Dundas... We knew about Rocky Dundas long before we moved out of our house and began our search for the sailboat. It's really cool for things to have come full circle, and we are now experiencing things that we were dreaming about not all that long ago. Wow, time does fly by - and I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again... it's amazing the thing you can accomplish if you make a commitment to reaching your dream and putting consistent effort towards that dream. Rocky Dundas are 2 little islands, one of which, is mostly hollow on the inside. You access the inside by swimming into small openings on the North side of the Eastern-most island. It's actually really cool when you get inside there. Both caves have large holes in the roof, so it's lit up inside. There weren't a whole lot of fish in there, but it was still quite amazing. Oh - there is quite a coral garden just outside the entrance, so that's really nice. Now, I should tell you about the OTHER part of this video... the part where Tambi blatantly trespasses on an island that is owned by non other than Edward Scissorhands HIMSELF! Yes, you read that right. Tambis not as innocent as you thought, now is she? Well, she really wanted to have her picture taken on that island, so we did what we could to accommodate. Welcome to yet another week in the BVI's. What can I say. We love it here. This week we explore Jost Van Dyke for the first time, which basically means we spend a lot of time sitting at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar drinking Painkillers. We also manage to fit in a private full moon party on board our friend's incredible catamaran and the evening takes an unexpected twist when our friends hijack our camera! A trip to JVD wouldn't be complete with a visit to Sandy Spit and the Bubby Pool- a natural rock pool that bubbles up every time a wave enters it. The sailing today took the racers from Nanny Cay to Scrub Island. The sun was out, the wind was light, and there was plenty of beach, bar, and pool activities afterward at the Scrub Island Resort.
